So much here, but I like to laugh.... "Anyway, you're not my parents." will always make me smile if no longer laughing out loud. "System 611, Magellanic Cluster". OMG looked it up...a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way.....poof...mind blown...I'm back listening again. "Go ahead and laugh at me" he gets right back at the audience in perfect time. "
It is somehow pretentious and unassuming, sweet and bitter, naive and cynical, nebbishy and august. I don't know how he does it. He's preternaturally good. He subsumes contradictions. He just made one of the most remarkable songs I have ever heard out of antithetical elements the way I might put together an omelet. Except my omelets suck and this song is genius.
I do not think it's in physical media yet, a studio version was released a couple of months ago digitally : joshritter.bandcamp.com/album/truth-is-a-dimension-both-invisible-and-blinding

No one else can do it quite like Josh Ritter. What an absolutely epic journey through a story song. 🙌🏻 Exquisite.
Twenty years ago I saw Josh in Columbia, Missouri, and have loved his storytelling, marching songs ever since ❤️❤️❤️
Such a perfect little joy of a song.
Thank you for sharing! Just saw him in Cleveland and needed to find this song again ❤️
Brilliant
its not on the new album. Is this available on physical media?

@@denniskwasnick627 just bought it. Thanks again.
Is he going to tour again with the Royal City band?
Sure is. Go to his website.
Just saw them yesterday.
It's the third time I've seen them and also the best.
Everyone just keeps getting better. It's pretty damn amazing.
