I had the big luck to be listen to these guys a few years ago on „my“ little island Norderney (have a look on a map!) thanks to Sybille and Hermann (very nice people living here). It took a little while to realize what kind of gift I have been given there and then - in Germany on that small island- watching and listening to this wonderful handmade music. Thank you so much.
Amazing performance by Show of Hands, one of the best we've seen by anyone ;) Shrewsbury Folk Festival was amazing this year, if you haven't gone before you need to!
I met Phil Beer at a gig in Sheriff Hutton (nr York) and he was brilliant. The only disconcerting thing was that it was like looking in a mirror for both of us! Show of Hands are utterly wonderful.
Somebody earlier complained/commented about Show of Hands bringing politics into their songs. Sorry but that's the role of the musicians - they sing (say) the things that need to be said. End of.
The role of musicians is to make music. If they choose to add politics then so be it, it’s not their role. I think his issue (at least mine is) the smug messages between songs, not the content of them
Great Dive song however it’s dam right irresponsible to dive on your own , I will rewrite some of the words to this song , diving is a dangerous sport however if you are with a buddy , The training you receive wether different agences will train you to be safe … great song though ……
When was the last time SoH included 'Roots' in their set? lol! Not a patch on gigs of yesteryear. They look slow and tired. Beer looks badly in need of exercise and Knightley needs to quit the drinking.
I think Show of Hands are brilliant, but I really wish they wouldn't bring their right-on politics and virtue signalling into it. Just stick to the music.
It's such a weird thing that people think that the musicians who perform their own songs and write them from their own feelings and thoughts should somehow excise a whole part of them just to please a few idiots who don't understand that all art is political. Their music is their politics. So maybe take the music out of if and just stick to your politics?

Wonderful as usual, never disappointed by a Show of Hands concert or set!
Same here, seen them so many times and loved every time!

Quietly enjoyable.... loved the protest songs... some great lyrics & feelings in all of these songs :)

Those who don’t have a voice need someone to speak for them ,musicians often do this and have for many years Joan Baez Joni Mitchell etc
One of their greatest hits was politically motivated. The words of the prophets (musicians) are written on the subway walls.
When something's too dangerous to say..... Sing!
Looks like a few people don’t understand the English folk tradition. It is the original working class medium of expression
We were there! Last and best gig of the day for us....
Love these guys
I love to see your live videos, I would love to see you live, but alas, I'm in the states.
Great
Highlight of Shrewsbury for me.

Beware of the devastating audio... starts at 14:18 and then gets real loud at15:05.
i should've read you instead of thinkin my computer was about to explode !
For me and my computer, getting the damn video to ACTUALLY play is the first trick! LOL

Yea, that Bob Dylan and Billy Bragg are the same, I'd stick to James Blunt if I were you.
What's wrong with virtue? Used to be a good thing...
I agree about politics but the fact is almost all these songs are about the effects of goverment desicions and the displacement created by it
Since your entire You Tube channel consists of you quoting Hitler...
