  • Land based shark fishing off a south Australian beach catching a massive bronzie. The shark was 3 meters long and estimated weight was 200kg! I was using a whole australian salmon for bait and kayaked it out 150m off shore on 50lb tackle. The shark was tagged and released after measurements and photos where taken. Just letting you know there is frequent course language in the video.
    Hope you enjoy and please like, comment and subscribe cheers.

    Just stumbled on your channel, that was an awesome shark. Loved the tag and release
    I used to work on a party boat out of Cape Canaveral, Florida and took a lot of nite shark fishing trips out and saw a few shuttle launches. Good times, enjoyed your video and subscribed for more

    In port Phillip bay. Where the mud flats are if u fly over in spring you see around 200-300 bronze whales sharks nesting. It’s crazy mate

    I saw one in williamstown less than 150 meters away from beach while I was spearfishing in 6m depth water, I thought it was ok to empty the 2 trevally stomach while still in water so suddenly approached me from behind.

    nice vid man, ever hooked a great white before? and im supprised u only used 50lb to catch such a big shark i think blacktiph uses 200lb

      @auzzieFisha9  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers mate, nah mate don't reckon i have but its gunna happen soon should be pretty sick. Yeah 50lb is good for bronzies but if knew i was going to hook into bigger sharks like tigers, hammerheads and bull sharks I'd use 80lb as a minimum

      auzzieFisha9 ever used a live salmon? Will get salmon over 90cm here in perth and when you're stupid enough like me to chase them on 4lb. We've had salmon take 300m of 4lb when theres bronzies like that on their tale just insane! Id recommend using live salmon, free line or can balloon either way works!

      Im not a shark fisher, but maybe dont try a metro beach hey with all the kiddies around.. try coorong, or the one of the peninsulas.

    are they dangerous? i was swimming at tennyson beach today and i spotted a shark in a wave crashing down about 30 meters away from me. i was about 60 meteres off shore at that point in waist deep water. shat myself as i was running back to shore. after some research apparently it could have been either a copper shark or great white. it looked fairly big when i saw it but not huge like id expect a great white to look, so i assume it was a copper.
    which beach was this catch at?
    edit: after some re evaluation, i actually think it was a great white i saw. maybe a juvenile since it didnt look ginormous. but the upper skin looked dark grey opposed to copper color, also it looked pretty girthy and round, and this copper seemed to be more slim looking. i just assumed great whites wouldnt ever come to shore but after research they do indeed come to shore. im kinda in distraught coz i really didnt think a great white would be anywhere near shores in metro beaches. but after watching some great white shark attack vids i cant believe i ever swam out that far. where i saw the shark, i was literally in that spot 30 seconds ago which was like 2 meters deep in water. i feel like such a fool

      Honest mistake mate but great whites can be anywhere because if theres food around they want to be there so they will come as shallow as they need shark attacks are very rare but just be on the lookout incase but you should be fine

    That’s what a lot of these folks say… look off in the distance and never show us the poor shark again. A friend that tags for research says many end up dying but that wouldn’t make good tv nor make these guys any money. That shark was almost on the bottom not moving around much - if it wasn’t stressed or in trouble, it would have flipped tail and shot off immediately. It looked like it was in half in the water constantly - but wonder how much tape got clipped.
    It would also be nice for the children watching if he cleaned up his language. A professional wouldn’t need to carry on like that.

    What’s the purpose of catching and putting it under stress, possibly dying if you aren’t going to eat it. Just leave it alone. It would be nice too if kids watching who fish didn’t have to hear so much cussing.
