Catching Sharks Off The Rocks Using a Balloon Rig

In this video I explain how to catch sharks using a balloon rig off the rocks. I show you the rig I use and also what bait and how to rig it. I hook 4 shark sharks but only land 3 around the 5 foot mark.

What rod are you using? Im going off beach with penn 10500/700m 50lb braid and am thinking fibreglass rod for forgiveness when casting heavy bait/sinker

I'm using a Diawa Monster Mesh PE.8 rod. When I'm casting baits off the beach I use a shimano T-curve coastal series surf rod 10-20kg and that works well.

I use an iron drop with a piece of pvc pipe connected with hose clamps to hold the pvc pip in place. Then I place it in the rocks some where it will hold
