Why does this truck have both a column automatic shifter amd a 5speed? it is really cool. I would live in it :) I wonder why it has single rear wheels? Tax purposes? It seems like it would add a bunch of stability...especially if a tire blows.
The column shifter is for changing between 2wd, 4wd, and 4wd Lo. In regards to the tires, the real problem I'm facing is finding suitable replacements. The stock rims are 15.5 inch and I've been looking for 16 inch alternatives with the correct offset, center bore, and load capacity. And, I'm also being challenged to find suitable tires as the specs call for a load rating of 110. The closest I've found here in Vancouver are Nokian cLine tires that have close to the same diameter as the stock tires and with a load rating of 109. Although it looks like there will be a lot of room for larger tires, I'm not eager to upsize the tires for fear of making the gear ratio too tall. I expect it to be a slug as it is with the QD32 105hp diesel.
ford aerostar. Maybe not quite as roomy, but theyre amazing camper vans, you can get them in 4wd I believe. Just jack it up, throw on some bigger tires, and youre set. Theyre incredibly affordable too compared to makes like westfalia
the "escape Hatch" inside the cabinet is not for escaping but storing your groceries directly in the cabinet from the outside (directly from the shopping cart) and not having to carry them through the small door.
Nissan used to do that all the time back in the 80s, i remenber my uncle had a Nissan Stanza wagon and the damn thing as unassuming of a vehicle as that was it had 4wd.
alexander1485 that makes more sense. What’s the point of 4wd when there’s an obvious lack of clearance for off road- but all wheel drive is always a welcome addition on anything for me.

I've seen the way that the Japanese auto manufacturing works, and also how mechanics are required to care for and fix all of their vehicles and put them through their inspections before and after all repairs are done. It's absolutely amazing how thorough and meticulous they are with preventative maintenance and repairing vehicles. Japan's workforce is amazing and honestly this is why they make the best vehicles in the world🌟
Thanks, I feel very fortunate to have won it at the auction. I have a lot of camping trips planned with my family for the coming season and we are very excited to be picking it up next week. Hopefully, I can get it through the British Columbia safety inspection without too many delays. I've already purchased North American market headlights to address the E code issue( UD1400 Nissan's are supposed to have same headlights, we'll find out if that is true soon enough.).
Nice! I’ve seen a lot of van life videos and this camper is one of the best stock campers I’ve seen as far as the layout. It looks old fashioned but besides that it’s ready to go! For the right price it can be a great option for a lot of people!
I have watched several travel van advertisements on youtube, and I have to say when comparing with the most recent class B RV from north America, this tiny Japanese truck's layout is much cleverer and its facilities are much more pratical. What a nice camper!

I like watching videos of Japanese and European RVs and smaller yachts. No wasted space, tastefully done wood work, and still spacious enough to live in. Where as a lot of American RVs and small yachts tend to have too much floor and lounge space, and not enough storage. Some exemptions exist, but usually at a price premium.. Scandinavian/Swedish interior design is probably amongst one of my favorites. Clean, simple, practical.
This is a really good camper. Nice and compact. Unfortunately in the u.s they are massive and overpriced.

You can get them at auction fairly cheap. I bought a 10 year old $205,000 RV for $27,500 but I came across even much cheaper. I bid on ones below $5k and saw some for as cheap as $900. You can find Toyota RV from the same year that are the same size. I think you might be mistaken. Nearly everything in USA is less expensive. I have been to 62 countries, so I kinda know stuff like this. I have bought motorcycles/scooters in many countries in Asia just to use while I was there. Never once was it cheaper except for electric in China, but that was a decade ago, not so much now but China is a bit cheaper. Now if you are talking about Puerto Rico, USA you would be correct. They are willing to pay more so naturally the price rises. This part was taught in school like the last point, but I have noticed that most socialist leaning cultures especially if they are mixed race have higher priced goods. Less market transparency, more corruption, and much lower productivity. Also they read less and publish less books per year than their counterpart.
New RV's could learn a lot from these little rigs. Owned RV's for 30 years, and love the smaller rigs. They make use of the space. Pickup one and with some TLC and about 3,000 invested into it you can not just restore but upgrade aspects of it. Which makes it wonderful. Sure you could get a Unimog or other similar vehicle for 400k+ and more than likely drive it a few miles on a dirt road but this thing will follow right behind you. Fantastic little rig.
Thanks:-) My family and I are very excited to have it for the coming camping season. We have already made bookings at various campgrounds around our home province of British Columbia. We also picked up a Parks Canada 150 year anniversary free pass and plan to make good use of it. One feature that wasn't demonstrated in the video, but which drew me to this particular model, is that the dinning area and the side couch fold flat into one extra large bed. I previously owned a Bigfoot 17' camping trailer with tiny beds and I sold it due to how confined the sleeping area was. So, I'm looking forward to a much more enjoyable sleeping space.
Oh my!!! I love everything about it!!! That window on the door! The bed on top! Wowza Dinette! The lace decor on seats! The burner is Adorable! The locks on cabinets! A nine seater at least nine! Good find. It's in pretty good condition, too. Definitely get some new tires on it right off the bat, but otherwise, you could at least use it as-is, even if it looks a bit outdated on the inside. Biggest change I'd make is slapping some solar panels on top.

This thing's the ultimate touring machine for a band, honestly. Throw a little trailer on the back for the amps and drums and you're ready to go platinum.
Bigger than a Japanese apartment, and it has wheels! Also, it looks like it has a pull out canopy on the passenger side, and the rear hatch for the cabinets under the kitchen is not an escape hatch but it's for easy access from the rear of the car.
I would imagine it could be easily replaced, it looks alike an off the shelf piece, I doubt Nissan or Exe made canopies themselves. BTW? are you the buyer?

They have one currently for less than 500usd with about 66k miles. Slap on another 3k for total cost of 3500 for an rv. Now it will likely be higher because of bidding.
this thing is awesome... I always wondered why the rv industry chose to completely ignore the Ford LCF platform in favor of the econoline dinosaur for this size of RVs...
I finally found my ideal rv, I was thinking about buying a ford falcon rv but this baby is 1000% better than that one I fell in love with it. Feels like a kei rv
The seating is as follows; two people up front in the cabin section, four people sitting in the area of the table then three people on the sofa. And the table drops down in between where the seats are, the seat cushions slide together then the seat backs get laid flat to take up that space. As far as the sofa goes I'm not really sure about what gets put where. But the rest of what I typed is correct. It's a beautiful little camper and I'd love to have one even if it was right hand drive.
epizee bruh nissan 300zx slow as shit you gotta have hella mods on it if u wanna go fast thats a ricer car it looks like a fast sports car but isn't even fast thats the definition of a ricer lmao
Bass Boost EXTREME yea but if you're looking for a 20 year old car with a good platform to modify might as well get a toyota supra they're both fast with mods but the supra is faster
I love the step up. Traditionally in Japanese culture if you enter someone's home and there's a small step up it's an indication that your supposed to take your shoes off. Also for the seating ruel, I think it only counts seats that are facing the front and back of the vehicle, cause those are technically the only seats that can be used while moving.
When I was checking Derek's auction site before buying the one in this video, I recall seeing some similar units(May have been Toyota or Isuzu, but still cab-over Class C designs with small diesel engines) that were 1993 models. That's on the cusp of meeting the 25 year USA import age limit. And, there may be some 1992 units out there even though I don't recall seeing any in my earlier searches.
I just did some digging on past auction results and found 3 units old enough to import into the USA. So, they do exist. And, one of them sold for an incredibly low price of 255,000 Yen. Here are the links to the 3 units I found(they will eventually disappear as the historical auction search tool ages-out anything over 3 months): auction.pacificcoastjdm.com/stats/?p=project/lot&id=223318744&s auction.pacificcoastjdm.com/stats/?p=project/lot&id=225522203&s auction.pacificcoastjdm.com/stats/?p=project/lot&id=225181829&s Oh, and you'll need to use the auction guest user/password that Derek mentioned in order to view these items.

They have one currently for less than 500usd with about 66k miles. Slap on another 3k for total cost of 3500 for an rv. Now it will likely be higher because of bidding.
this thing is awesome... I always wondered why the rv industry chose to completely ignore the Ford LCF platform in favor of the econoline dinosaur for this size of RVs...
they go for about 14-25k US, plus shipping.
I love that camper is the best ever! !!!!!!!
DOPEST THING IVE SEEN IN A WHILE! Love the glass on doors showing driver. Cab overs rule.
The Adams Family laughs at that interior fabric. I understand the van is from 1999. But, that interior is from 1962
I finally found my ideal rv, I was thinking about buying a ford falcon rv but this baby is 1000% better than that one I fell in love with it. Feels like a kei rv
Can convert it to take waste fry oil. Put solar on top.
I see that rx-7 and the 300zx you got there
epizee i see to love Japanese cars
epizee bruh nissan 300zx slow as shit you gotta have hella mods on it if u wanna go fast thats a ricer car it looks like a fast sports car but isn't even fast thats the definition of a ricer lmao
Abdoo Gofoo still a clean ass body style and a perfect plat form to modify.
Bass Boost EXTREME yea but if you're looking for a 20 year old car with a good platform to modify might as well get a toyota supra they're both fast with mods but the supra is faster
@@mr.stealyogirl4078 do you now how much a supra costs?
That is a sweet ride! I have a 1991 Mercedes 3100 camper van from Japan it's beautiful inside.
Omg i love this car... neer seen in my country
Four-wheel drive compact camper van like that.... Absolutely awesome!!!!
comes with free vibrating seats I see 😂
Early Man. Big lips is that you?
and those seats in the front are heated too after couple of minutes in the road haha
What do you expect? Of course, vibration = Japan! Yamete yamete! 😂
I want One! A 4x4 Diesel mini motorhome? WOW! 😊
A lefthand drive would be nice, however I would probably still consider getting one. If that wasn't an option.
Whoever did the inspection was very excited!!
I would totally lift this thing and put some A/T's on it. Budget overland rig!
Gonna want a turbo in that diesel though.
This is the coolest camper I have seen. Its interior is so neat and classy. I would live in it for years.
I love the Japanese Language. さら
Wish they imported these to the states.
Here are the links to the 3 units I found(they will eventually disappear as the historical auction search tool ages-out anything over 3 months):

Oh, and you'll need to use the auction guest user/password that Derek mentioned in order to view these items.
Thanks for the info.
Thats only $3100 plus shipping, GST, excise tax, etc.
S M how much did you buy the one in the video for?
Best camper I have ever seen
2:46 That RX-7 though😍
