I bought my 2014 E250 new in December 2014. It has never had a problem of any kind. Only maintenance has been the standard stuff, but I admit I've gone through a lot of tires and brakes on it......but that's on me. Is it my favorite car I've ever owned (I spent 15 years in Germany), no. Is it the best car I've ever owned.........yes. Take care of these things and they'll run forever. Mileage is amazing as well. For the U.S. market this car is perfect because that 370 lb/ft of torque is great for U.S. driving, but not so much for the Autobahn. If you find one well taken care of you won't find a better commuter sedan.
Great video Joe, I enjoy your content very much! I had a 2009 Mercedes-Benz E320 BlueTec with 92K miles on it, and this is the model with the OM642 3.0L V6 turbo Diesel engine. I ended up ditching the car after having it diagnosed and it had the infamous oil cooler leak. It requires disassembling half the engine to get to. Worse part is these o rings go bad every 80K miles. The job was quoted at $6K. I figure this car in your video has a similar issue. I also own a 2004 Mercedes E320 and it has been dead reliable to me very good car. Mercedes diesels after the CDI 3.2L I-6 OM646 are junk.
This car has a completely different engine. Your E320 is an excellent car because you have a great drivetrain. 1999-2007 was a great time for Mercedes. After that, you really have to know what you are shopping for. - 05 C320 4matic
@@jasonf407 The 2.1 is actually a great engine if maintained properly. Maybe some of the earlier OM651 that were not in US passenger cars may have had some issues, but all the US models seem pretty bulletproof. I have this in my GLK250 and it's been flawless for 150K miles, but it always had the proper oil.
Sounds like this thing has ran low on oil or something to sound like a old dodge truck. Definitely seems like they wanted to dump it. I’d gladly swap this one for the 3.5 (350) model . I also have driven the (e550) coupe and it was a wonderful experience with the hard top convertible down. I think 402hp and was PLENTY for classy but fun but for reliability and cheaper repairs I would do the E350
I own a E250. Excellent car. 48 mpg highway. All the torque you need to go up hill. Loves the highway. 26 mpg City. Stop & Go tech. Diesel has a bad reputation in the USA. These cars are no longer imported so if you find a good one, buy it especially if you take long road trips. It's range in over 800 miles on highway on a full tank.
Always liked the idea of a diesel Mercedes ... just wouldn't have it in white, I can tell you that! Traded in with a full tank of DIESEL?? Holy shit! They couldn't get rid of it fast enough. ... Now you've got me looking for one of these (a good one) on Autotempest .... Joe, you're going to get me into trouble one of these days! Happy holidays to you & yours!

This is an excellent highway car. It will save you money on long trips. I would take this over any hybrid any day.
I had a couple GLK250s when they were new. They were super fast and cool

@@SiikPros I know, it has the 2.1L I4 Turbo diesel. These were famous for snapping timing chains.

Love this one man take care merry Christmas 🙏🎁🥂🍾
You too!
That code would have been covered under the AEM extended warranty. Hard to say what the oil leak was. This is the same engine that's in my GLK250
We researched it some and could not get a real definitive answer unfortunately
