I worked at Heide Park as an operator last year, but I rode Colossos many times before, with both the “Statue of Liberty” theming and the rain forest theming. They didn´t impressed me that much, but the ride itself did! When they announced the closure in 2016, I hoped it would reopen quickly, but unfortunately it didn´t. When I came to work as an operator at Heide Park, I loved all the other coasters for sure, but I always looked to Colossos with a feeling of desire. And then in 2019, I watched the TH-cam video announcing Colossos would reopen on 19th April, and I immediately booked some tickets and went to Heide Park with my friends to ride it again. And I have to say, I´m so glad that they didn´t turn it into an RMC. Of course, it wouldn´t have been bad, but Colossos was perfect just the way it was before the closure, so I think it was the right decision to keep it this way. Greetings from Germany ;)
Colossos was the first wooden coaster i've ridden. It was an awesome experience. I havn't been in the park since 2013. So i'd love to go there again and ride the refurbished one. An RMC makeover would certainly be cool, but i think keeping it as a wooden coaster was the right choice :3 Btw: The other two i've ridden (Or three, depending on how you count) are Joris en de Draak (Efteling, Netherlands, both sides) and El Toro (Freizeitpark Plohn, Germany)...Specially Plohn is a great Park many people don't know. But they have a nice coaster-lineup including a Mac Rides Big Dipper called Dynamite.
I would like to visit Germany one day to try out this rollercoaster. I've seen POV videos of it and I must say it looks really fun, both the original and the themed-up version. I can say this is one of the few wooden rollercoasters that does not need the RMC treatment as it seems to already provide all the intense thrills without the need to flip you upside down like so many steel coasters.
I'm glad they were able to reopen it and keep it the way it was. New hybrid coasters are great but we also have to keep coasters like these as well, they are so much fun. This coster looks Awesome. Great video!
RMC shouldn't take over every single woodie especially not the ones, giving really good rides like Colossos did and now does again. I'm really happy with what they have done.

Colossos looks really good, I went to Hamburg in Germany last year when I was just becoming an enthusiast and In the airport I found a leaflet for Hansa park. I didn't know what this park was but I knew I had seen it somewhere. When I got to the hotel room I found your video but I was only in Hamburg for three days! I really regret not asking my grandparents If I could go because Des Schur Des Karnan is one of the best coasters in Europe! The only coasters I have under my belt are UK coasters. I beg my family if we can go to Germany or Spain to ride some of their rides but they don't seem convinced. I don't think they will let me go to America either and it really is annoying that all my friends go to California and Florida and get to ride all of the thrills they have to offer. Sad thing is they are the GP to.... it is really annoying! Thanks for reading my story.
I'm sure you'll get more chances to ride some coasters in the future. I suggest you research where you go on holiday in advance and mention to your parents about any theme parks ahead of time! :)
Went to heide park resort twice this year just because Colossos wasn't open the first time I went 😂 2 weeks later it finally was, and I rode it 5 times in a row. Absolutly addictive!
I rode it before it closed. It was really a mess and very hurting. The redone coaster is better it ever was. The three trimbrakes (if i counted correctly) make it a perfect ride experience. Very nice. Intamin, Cordes and Heide Park did a great job.
Heide Park is my favourite theme park I've ever been to. It's not crazy crowded like our Dutch parks, the atmosphere and balance between intense and easygoing rides is great and Colossos is a beast of a coaster. Too bad it's so far away for me, not really a day trip.

This was my first rollercoaster ever and im very glad it wasnt turned into a hybrid coaster because in my opinion its the best woody in Germany and maybe in europe too
Hopefully they actually maintain the coaster this time, and don't let the track get as rough as it did again. It would be cool if they maintained it like great adventure does el toro.

Not sure if you did, but Apocalypse at Six Flags Magic Mountain should be a "What is..." topic, as I believe it was one of the first few coasters that were using Millennium Flyers (or similar trains)(could be wrong), had a name change (originally "Terminator: Salvation"), and had a fire element in the ride.
I've been on this twice this year (almost 3 times cause of my friend) and omg I thought it couldn't be that bad cause I didn't see any loops. But when we startet to go uphill I panicked cause only now I could see how high it actually was. I felt like I was gonna fly out but it was still fun. Oh also I forgot to say. I'm a safety freak and lap restrictions are my worst enemy so this was lowkey a nightmare.
I think it's good they reopened it with a new track. But If they had to replace the track after 15 years, does this mean they have to retrack it again in 2034? Do they now pay more attention to maintenance to prevent this from happening again?
If we have to scream to win, I would buy a lot of megaphones and attach them to speakers. Then I would grab a bunch of random people off the street, give them the megaphones, and then drag people on the ride. We will all scream as loud as we can into the megaphones killing the giant because of ear damage. Best. Plan. EVER.
After remake it is smooth, smoother than before, it get a little slower i think, cause i miss little negativeG punch at top of hills, but i guess that is better than have it closed or removed, so no complains.

At the time this coaster premiered the Son of Beast was the fastest, longest and tallest wooden coaster. Since then there was El Toro (which still exists with a bigger drop but not as big a rise above the ground as Colossos). Since then, there have been no more than 4 RMC wooden coasters to beat the speed and drop of this ride. Not only that: El Toro didn't exist until 2006; 5 years later, so there'd be no reason to turn this into a hybrid, except people erroneously thinking this coaster would never come back any other way. It's not as good as 1) El Toro or 2) T-Express. However: Colossus looks better than Balder.
I just rode it today for the first time and it was awesome, although it's not my type of coaster, the first drop is intense and the amount of airtime is very fun aswell, but I will stick with "Flug der Demonen" (Fly of the demons) to stay my favorite coaster at the park / Edit: I also use the single rider lane and was able to ride the coaster in under ten minutes with waiting and everything included, which is insanely lucky since the normal waiting times were 90+ minutes

Just rode it a few days ago, and sadly, I would’ve really liked a hybrid RMC. I find Colossos very lame, the lay-out is just: Hill Hill turn, Hill Hill helix, Hill Hill turn brakes. And the Airtime isn’t even that Great. With Untamed being my #1, i think They needed to convert it.
I have to disagree. I think that it's such a unique and special ride, being the first of its kind, it's great that it still stands today. Give it some time and I'm sure it'll be back to running faster!

I rode colossos multiple times and it is awesome. It's 100 times more intense than any B&M hyper while beeing as smooth as a B&M.

Wicker Man came first, it's quite likely as the same parent company owns both parks, that Heide Park was inspired by Alton Towers Wicker Man :)

You made a Mistake about the hight of Colossos. You said colossos is 50 meters high, but it is 60 meters high. Please review your information.
