I’m currently 27 weeks preg. My husband and I are waiting until the birth to find out the gender and family members are giving us a hard time about it. That’s probably why some people decide to announce the gender.
When they do the anatomy scan they ask if you’d like to know the gender so you can be prepared with clothes, nursery items and other baby things that would be easier to have on hand instead of having to go to the store every week right after you give birth. Don’t be upset about the technology, it could be beneficial to many parents for many different reasons. Also I live where the baby shower fire happened and if you’re upset about that, wait until you find out about climate change and how much damage that has done.

Like buying accessible furniture or just simply being informed on what to expect and the best way to go about it. Also there’s about a 15% as many options for gender neutral items and some mothers take things from loved ones and buy second hand to keep costs low. Again there’s no negatives to learning about the gender first
