Everyone apart from Arsenal and Liverpool fans rates Richarlison, Everton would have gone down last season without him and he's done a decent job at Spurs playing out of position.

Richarlison is absolutely fucking awful. He plays about 7 or 8 good games a season but the rest of time does nothing at all, looks so lazy and unmotivated. Most of the time he wouldn't be good enough for any PL team. I think a lot of non liverpool and arsenal fans would agree. Makes it all the more confusing that he turns into R9 for Brazil.

Really good call on Füllkrug - he might even start the next game and he's scored against Spain just the other day.
If Germany manage to make somewhat of a deep run (which is by no means certain) watch Füllkrug bagging another couple of goals in the knockouts.
That call shows that Alfie is pretty knowledgable about German football. Outside of Germany he really isn't known at all but in Germany people have been crying for him to be our main man up front for weeks now

As an Polish I'm a big fan od Karol Świderski. He is a great example of average club player who is excellent in national team. He scored 8 goals in 18 games,but his biggest adventage is his partnership with Lewandowski. And he look like Robert Prosinecki.
Swiderski is so good for Charlotte in MLS. Love to see him play for Poland

Same, Świderski just always seems to be a good choice to play with Lewandowski, something maybe other center forwards haven't been able to do (for instance, Milik has generally been underwhelming for Poland), and he is genuinely dangerous and chips in with goals, better than some more high profile players. I was pleased to hear him mentioned in the video
Swinderksi is lucky that Buksa got injured and thus has not broken into the squad at Lens or he might not even be at this WC. While in MLS there was no doubt that Buksa was the better option (which is why he was called into qualifiers more often). That being said, they are both solid options to play with and support Lewandowski and they both have a lot of potential still.
We have to ask Prosinečki if he has been to Poland 🤣😂🤣😂

The call on Richarlison is looking spot on. I have friends that are Spurs supporters that don't rate him. He then proceeds to go and score the two best goals of the tournament.

He's always been talented but it seems he very much relies on having great spells for some time and then drops off again for a few weeks. Just cant seem to get that consistency.
@@daarom3472 Usually because he's been badly managed and had to deal with injury problems etc, he should have been rested a bit more the last few years, then we'd see more consistency.

Pretty safe picks though. They are already well known players just not the “star players” I was hoping for more domestic based players or young players. Sure for the top nations it’s hard to pick but some of these others it’s the one of the well known or talked about players in a top league. Like Costa Rica and Duarte is a boring pick, he’s old and well known, why not pick someone playing in Costa Rica who is young and performing well during qualification.

Alfie pays attention to international football news, so he should be aware Füllkrug was the best scorer in the Bundesliga for quite a few weeks. For any German, that pick was obvious, but yeah for someone outside of Germany to make that call is a sign of very good research.
Di Maria is one of the most underrated players I've seen. He's fantastic, its a shame he left Madrid and went for two very problematic clubs.
Bro I can’t believe Uruguay and Mexico might go out of groups and without scoring a goal. This last game is legit gonna impact their federation way more than people realize.
Especially Uruguay with the good strikers they have even though Cavani and Suarez are starting to show their age.

Honesty Argentina I would say enzo fernanadez, Di Maria is not overrated by any means he’s played for Real Madrid, United and psg and has well over 100 caps for he’s country.

For Croatia i'd pick Livaja over Juranović because, as all croatian league players are, he is chronically underrated on the world stage. Livaja is a great player and he has already showed a spark of what he can do against Canada. Juranović is a good pick too tho, but he gets criticised moreso than anyone in the teqm does so i dont know
I feel like a lot of these picks aren’t “underrated” they are well known players in top leagues who just aren’t the “star players”. I was hoping he’d pick more obscure domestic players or younger players

He picked players who will most likely actually play, so then you can judge him on whether he has been successful or not, doesn't tell you much to hear a judgment on some player who might be extremely underrated but barely made the cut and is unlikely to play that much. That, and the players have to actually be underrated too, so they have to be actually good, whereas often those obscure domestic players tend to get picked because there isn't much else.
I think Messi is Argentina’s most underrated player just like Ronaldo is Portugal’s most underrated player. I know Messi & Ronaldo haven’t been talked about much in their careers but they were unbelievable players when they were younger and still are better than most players out there even though Ronaldo is 38 this month (February 2023) and Messi is 35/36. Another player who is underrated and that’s because he’s still young at 23yrs old and this guy called Mbeppé will be playing for France in the World Cup, he’s a forward so keep an eye on him
Most underrated player for the Netherlands has to be Andries Noppert he hasnt even played a full season as first keeper and plays for a pretty small club compared to all other dutch players

Another American that can make an argument for most underrated is our 35 year old center back, Tim Ream. An MLS product he spent the last decade mostly in the Championship where appeared to at his level but late in his career he has become a good Premiere league player and has been critical to our success. Ream was so under rated he hadn't been called up in the last 2 years.

I think Kaylor Navas is not necessarily underrated, but his star power / brand recognition is poor due to his nationality and his position. No disrespect to Costa Rica, but If he was from any western european or even East Asian (Japanese / Korean / Chinese) side of the world, I think he’ll be far more valuable for the clubs because of sponsorship/ imaging rights that they can sell

Spot on about Pickford. He was literally the best GK in the Euros with the highest save percentage, most clean sheets and least goals conceded. Look at Neuer and Courtuis already in the WC. Big mistakes. Pickford has only made 3 big mistakes in the last 2 years.
The call about the Cameroon team, on the internal issues, is better than all else in this video, after the Onana situation, meanwhile I genuinely think that Neymar could be a shout for Brazil's most underrated player, when you have Jason Cundy on the most popular, albeit unfortunately, sports broadcaster, TalkSport, saying he is the most overrated player of all time, and that Mason Mount is better...
