I was there!!! I had no clue that the projection of Jack turning into a giant failed until I was watching other concert videos. Right when he is about to "grab on" to the lowered screen, the projection cuts out. From my view, you could see Ryan look very worried and confused.
Watching Jack’s speech had me sobbing here at home, at 10:50 at night, sitting in my bed holding his voice up to my ear and I was sobbing not only because of his beautiful, moving, heartbreaking and incredible words but also because somehow, at the concert, I managed not to do the same. I am crying now because for some reason, I didn’t. I didn’t cry when my favorite band and favorite people on earth came on stage in front of me for the first time. I didn’t cry when they sang God is Really Real. I didn’t cry when Ryan sang the Turning Outs, I didn’t cry at 2085, I didn’t cry at Jack’s speech. And you know what? I wish I did. I really wish I had.
but you were there in some way you enjoyed the moment it was not necessary to cry, maybe now you cry because of the beautiful memory but not because of regret
