The blacklisting/banning issue on Discogs is such an interesting debate. The main two reasons a record gets blacklisted is #1 Bootlegs/Unofficial pressings and #2 Records that promote hate or violence against specific groups. I think Discogs shouldn't ban any records at all. As far as I know, Amazon doesn't ban any books regardless of content. It should be the same with music. When you prohibit people from obtaining or doing something, you only make that item/ action more desirable. 19:52 Yeah I noticed the same thing happening with Genocide Organ From the little that I heard though that Peste Noire album is solid, they are really one of the most consistent groups out there imo 🤘
I remember wanting for the longest time ANY format copy for Peste Noire's debut album and the moment I saw they randomly reissued it on their site I KNEW I had to be quick. I ended up recieving these all white double LPs at retail price and I must admit that the album remained on their site for quite a long time, it still doesn't justify the fact that people are STILL trying to sell it on eBay and discogs for crazy prices is beyond me, it should've went down a bit yet here we are
Weakling - Dead as Dreams. Max it sold for is 1880 dollars. I'm glad I have it but I wish they would just do a repress. Whats the point of depriving yourself of money and your fans of the music they love
@@westernwarden8758I also own a copy. Last I heard, John Gossard (Vocalist and main guitarist behind Weakling) has no interest in repressing it unfortunately. I heard tUMULt still owns the original masters of the record.
You kinda got me started into collecting music media. I collect cds, vinyls and cassettes and I have 81 cds, over 104 vinyls (need to recount cause I got more) and over 180 cassettes (also needs a recount). I've been slowly putting my stuff into Discogs and current my most valuable vinyl is an original 1989 Hanatarash 3 vinyl, my most valuable cd is Cloacal Kiss's 2005 Demo, and my most valuable cassette is Winter's 1989 demo. I also have two boxsets that pretty valuable Grausamkeit's 25 years of war and sodomy 23 cassette boxset and Stalaggh's Existence Is Futile 4xLP boxset

Lets take a moment to appreciate that Berserk was brought up... GOATed franchise, and an amazing soundtrack on every single end (yes even the 2016 anime, Shiro Sagisu is amazing). Susumu Hirasawa is a godlike composer

I bought an original Flipper-Generic for $80...right before all their records were re-pressed. this was 20ish years ago, not sure what the value is now. Worth every penny though
The most valuable I have owned is Evoking a Decade by Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult. I was stupid and gave away all my CDs a few years ago. I bought that one in 2009 for around 15 or 20 dollar directly from the band. The highest it sold for on Discogs is around $130. Not a lot compared to the albums in this list, but I so badly want it in my collection again 😭
I used to work at NWN and Yosuke said the Dhamar (or however it's called) guys said they don't want the record repressed. So that'll probably be the only one until someone makes a bootleg
Pricey records in my collection by discogs I'm aware of are these: - Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio "Make Love, And War: The Wedlock Of Roses, And Equilibrium" 2LP - Wylve / The Rain in Endless Fall split demo 12" - v/a "Crushing the Holy Trinity" both CD and vinyl versions, but both versiona are banned on discogs market - Corrupted "El dios queja" 10" - Worship / Agathocles (white cover) 7"EP - complete collection of Painiac's Suicidal Doom Series and probably some more. EDIT: - Lifelover "Pulver" LP and CD first presses - Peste Noire first album LP and "Lorraine Rehearsal" LP
My top 3: 1. Radiohead - Ok Computer (Capitol 2008) $424. I don't have idea why... maybe a signed copy? 2. At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command (Twenty First Chapter, 2013) $250. Yeah this is why RSD sucks!! 3. Converge - Jane Doe (Deathwish 2016) $208. So happy with this one, my favorite album. This is the gold with black smoke variant. I bought it directly from their distro for $25.
Hey Nice collection and video! Not sure if it has been mentioned, or whether you are aware I think the Morbid Lp came with an A2 poster? I haven't bothered checking discogs
Hope we get a follow-up to this but have it be boxsets. My personal collection would probably be scoffed at by a lot of people and I haven't had the money to buy vinyl in awhile but my highest are: Hit Vibes by St. Pepsi at $175 Zeldawave by Polygon Dream at $163 Ghost and Volbeats 7 inch split at $150 Yes! We're open by Groceries at $130 There were a few classic rock albums up there that I didn't include because I feel like everyone owns them like L.A. Woman or Abraxas so I decided to include the more "interesting" ones. As for boxsets: The Elden Ring Set at $430 Hotline Miami 1 and 2: The complete collection at $350 Extended Impera by Ghost at $292 And just so I can include some metal, here's my metal ones. I don't own anything super rare here so its nothing amazing. Somewhere in Time by Iron Maiden for $100 Where Owls know my Name by Rivers of Nihil for $100 Petrodragonic Apocalypse by King Gizzard for $85
I guess for me it would be Human Serpent / Isolert collaboration tape box. It's kinda hard to say, because it was never sold on discogs, but some people on instagram offered me 250-300e for this
My most expensive one must be Véhémence - Par Le Sang Versé Wooden Box edition. Bought it for 90,- at the store. But since none have been sold on discogs so far we will see how prices will develop.

I’m interested Ed in checking out Current 93. What do you recommend I start? And I’ve started collection no records this year fun
Thunder Perfect Mind
I used to work at NWN and Yosuke said the Dhamar (or however it's called) guys said they don't want the record repressed. So that'll probably be the only one until someone makes a bootleg
Pricey records in my collection by discogs I'm aware of are these:
- Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio "Make Love, And War: The Wedlock Of Roses, And Equilibrium" 2LP
- Wylve / The Rain in Endless Fall split demo 12"
- v/a "Crushing the Holy Trinity" both CD and vinyl versions, but both versiona are banned on discogs market
- Corrupted "El dios queja" 10"
- Worship / Agathocles (white cover) 7"EP
- complete collection of Painiac's Suicidal Doom Series
and probably some more.
EDIT:
- Lifelover "Pulver" LP and CD first presses
- Peste Noire first album LP and "Lorraine Rehearsal" LP
Mine is comus first utterance 1st press on Dawn
note: Recent MOV reissue on clear is quite nice too
My top 3:
Morbid...Yesssss
That december moon is fuckin sick.
Hey
Nice collection and video!
Not sure if it has been mentioned,
or whether you are aware
I think the Morbid Lp came with an A2 poster?
I haven't bothered checking discogs
Hope we get a follow-up to this but have it be boxsets. My personal collection would probably be scoffed at by a lot of people and I haven't had the money to buy vinyl in awhile but my highest are:
Hit Vibes by St. Pepsi at $175
Zeldawave by Polygon Dream at $163
Ghost and Volbeats 7 inch split at $150
Yes! We're open by Groceries at $130
There were a few classic rock albums up there that I didn't include because I feel like everyone owns them like L.A. Woman or Abraxas so I decided to include the more "interesting" ones. As for boxsets:
The Elden Ring Set at $430
Hotline Miami 1 and 2: The complete collection at $350
Extended Impera by Ghost at $292
And just so I can include some metal, here's my metal ones. I don't own anything super rare here so its nothing amazing.
Somewhere in Time by Iron Maiden for $100
Where Owls know my Name by Rivers of Nihil for $100
Petrodragonic Apocalypse by King Gizzard for $85
I guess for me it would be Human Serpent / Isolert collaboration tape box. It's kinda hard to say, because it was never sold on discogs, but some people on instagram offered me 250-300e for this
Let’s see how many other metal channels are showing their most rare vinyl now, after this great idea.
This format for a video has been a thing I think for quite awhile (at least 7 years old)
I was waiting for Weakling's sole album. That one is hard and even the band themselves don't want it to be repress 😢
Hey Wyatt, what is your opinion on the Blazebirth Hall bands?
My most expensive one must be Véhémence - Par Le Sang Versé Wooden Box edition.
Bought it for 90,- at the store.
But since none have been sold on discogs so far we will see how prices will develop.
Shirt goes very hard
My most valuable record I own is an original pressing still in the plastic Black Sabbath headless cross. Bought it from my friends dad to help him
