This man is a pure example of how passion to make a music destroyed all Bolocks about you have to know music theory. He is my inspiration. Stay motivated ,what ever they say to you. Folow you instinct and passion! Peace!
Marco Polo has been a favorite producer of mine for a long time, he's evidence that anything can be done if you have the passion and drive to achieve it.
Wow, loved this! Makes me feel like my lack of knowing much music theory shouldn't stop me from making good music. I stop and get unmotivated when I see complex theory stuff from the top guys but in the end like he said, at the end of the day, it's all about making good music (no matter how you did it).
Listen you can read all the manuals on all the programs you use- you can read all the music theory you want BUT if you can’t feel what you’re doing just stop. It’s the feeling before the “know how” theory what theory? You can do it! Swing away.
YOU NAILED IT!!! exactly what i was thinking the same thing. school is soooo technical and No soul!!! Some of that greatest names in music couldn't afford music. they just practiced and played by ear and heart.
I really enjoyed this! This dude is just so real "I don't know none of that shit" hahaha I really needed to here that, this just changed my view a bit... Just make music.
Respect to the big homie Marco Polo.. I've been influenced by his music and motivated by his longevity thus far. Thank you Drum Broker for having a platform to educate and inform the music production community.
If anybody knows if this beat was released, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know.. I love this beat.. This beat is so so dangerous, forget the vocals, I know he was just fuckin around.. but the beat & the bassline, OMG !!!
+Saskiequelle Its all perspective though. For what he does there are enough tools available to still make his kind of beats and keep a certain level of Musicality with out all the theory involved. I play keys and I have taken courses on music theory in college but sometimes you just have let your ears be your guide and not be so into the "rules" so to speak and just make music. I know guys who are classically trained who cant make up their own melodies to save their life, but if you put a sheet of music in front of them they can play all day. I think it all just depends of what you are trying to do.

So many gems in this video. Marco Polo is legit!!
It's great to study music but one thing school can't teach you is passion fuck terms just feel it

Elegante!!!!
NYC sound came largely from Beastie Boys. Run DMC too but Beastie Boys first at the same time LL Cool J. Rick Rubin from the beginning.
Killing it
how does he use the mpc with the software ?
+cool as me MIDI I'm guessing no?
Smart move to go with the blue mpc, cigarette smoke stains won't show #chainsmoker
I think he was more concerned with having a CF card reader I dont think he gives a flux about his MPC being gritty and grimy :)
What's the first beat in the background? Hope someone can help :/

aye that Mouzon record is dank. i see ya.
11:40 You are limiting yourself by not studying music theory.
TRUTH
+Saskiequelle He makes more money than you though...
+Saskiequelle Its all perspective though. For what he does there are enough tools available to still make his kind of beats and keep a certain level of Musicality with out all the theory involved. +Saskiequelle THERE ARE THOSE THAT ARE ANOMOLIES... HE IS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT JUST HAS RAW TALENT...
idk... some people work better with limitations - usually the people who gravitate to these old machines will make better stuff if they are limited
ORANGE MOON 4 EVER! RIP
