No offense to the guest speaker but accidentally read "wonderful prostitute..." instead of "wonderful positive attitude". Didn't sleep so well and words 'tend to mesh together. This video was intetesting to watch!

Hi Carolyn, I want to thank you so very much for taking the time to talk with me about real issues and real experiences, that some of us may encounter as we journey through life. I sincerely appreciate you, your support, and encouragement. I enjoyed sharing with you and your friendlies. It was great and a welcomed opportunity. You're a true trooper and trailblazer. Just bare with me I'm still warming up to the camera, and learning how to manuever on TH-cam. "newbie" LOL. Hopefully, I'll become a pro "pronista" like you. See you down the road dear friend. Besides you Carolyn, Ms J is the other female I wholly admire. I saw her interview on Bob's channel last year, and she inspired me to begin pursuing a job transporting RV's. I am hoping to be able to get out there soon.... but it is a process that you have to prepare for. From getting your driving requirements in line, to getting the electronic equipment gathered....and finding a decent tow vehicle and the equipment to do that.....
thank you for this interview.... what a completely charming lady she is...and you both seemed to have a great chemistry together..... it really was one of the most valuable videos you have put out on your channel and I am truly grateful you did it.

pepperpepperpepper, I've learned that people see what they want to see and believe what they want - even when contrary evidence is biting them in the nose. You you seem to want to believe that Ms. J has ulterior motives regardless of all the evidence proving otherwise. And you seem adamant in insuring others to believe your falsehoods, for that reason I've deleted your comment and blocked you. We aren't here to prove ourselves to people who want to see the worst in others, we are here to help those who want it. Peace

    • @CarolynsRVLife
      @CarolynsRVLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

pepper - "the consensus of the comments' said that her 'claimed income is unattainable'. This statement is so funny. So, a bunch of people sitting at home behind computers watching videos should be believed over someone who is actually DOING IT... ??? "Many SUSPECTED" she was recruiting" - so to prove my point in my previous comment, I am not going to condone or allow you to spread false info based on the suspicions of people sitting on the sidelines who have nothing better to do than criticize real people, with real courage to go live their dreams. And I'm really sorry you are falling victim to that mentality.

Great video Carolyn and Ms J.
I recall a road trip to upstate New York with a friend and we stopped at a convenience shop to get sodas and lottery. We walked in and EVERYONE in the store stopped talking and stared at us. We said hi and got what we wanted then I went to get a lottery ticket and they asked to see my ID. It was an experience I’ll tell ya and it definitely rubbed me the wrong way. But it wasn’t the first encounter and it won’t be the last unfortunately. And I’m about to be 52!

In my opinion, that I.D. stunt is pulled by bigots who want to 'flex' on people of color and demonstrate some nonexistent type of power over them. I saw it happen first-hand to my mother once in a convenience store and it was laughable considering she was clearly a mature woman. She is a woman of color, the person doing it was a White guy. I was very angry and shocked that this sort of thing happened. And yep it also happened in Upstate NY. WTH is up with that? I would love to buy an RV at some point in the future, and it's kinda important to know how the race issue enters into RV traveling...in case family comes along with me, I want to know the perceptions, attitudes and behavior of some people out there. Knowledge is always useful. I've always thought that small towns can foster ignorance. When one group of people predominantly makes up the demographics of a place, and there is little interaction w/different ethnicities and cultures, it can lead to shockingly simple-minded even dangerous attitudes towards what some will view as "difference".

I agree, I wish everyone thought like you, but unfortunately, we aren't there yet and it DOES matter to many people. And IMO that's why we need to keep having these conversations. Nothing ever changed through denial.

I would even leave out the age and sex/gender labels. Damn people, we are all just a multi-hue-colored species labeled as human beings on this plane for a very, yes short, finite period of time. I am not denying that some people want to label us and treat us by their defined labels but we validate that when we acknowledge it and attribute their actions to the label. As soon as we recognize that we all belong to the same species, and don't validate otherwise, we will understand that we are one and the same.

This is simply the result of the hundreds of years that white people labeled themselves as superior and believed they were entitled to more and better simply because they were white. This has been passed down from generation to generation and continues to show itself in the racism of today. They saw everyone else as inferior.
So when people who aren't white begin to say "wait just a doggone minute",
They proudly point out that they aren't white but are entitled to the same things white people are.
If you can't understand this, I would bet you are white and have benefited from being white without ever knowing it.
Walk a mile in their shoes and maybe you might begin to understand.

I didn't get pulled over for having my high beams on, but I did get pulled over by a state trooper for flashing my lights at him at dusk to get him to turn his headlights on, as I could barely see him coming at me on the highway. I was a young guy with long hair in a 20 year old Ford Falcon. He did a full safety inspection on the side of the road trying to find something wrong so he could write me up. After wasting twenty minutes of my time and making me late to the drive in theatre, he had to let me go. I think it irked him that I was more safety conscious than he was.

Thank you both for great content in this video. We do all have our own experiences. I worked construction for many years when I was young and I know that feeling of having to prove myself and be non-threatening. Now that I am old and not so thin anymore and I've always liked wearing my jeans and t-shirt, I get followed around in stores sometimes and when I've just been parked looking at my phone I've been asked if I was homeless, and in other places I've been mistaken for day laborer someone was looking for. I like what Ms J said about "killing them with kindness" and "projecting an attitude that you want reflected back at you," that has been my own attitude. I am looking forward to watching Ms J's channel and thank you Carolyn for sharing the link!

Thank you, Carolyn, for another unique video that shines a light on a topic that doesn’t get addressed much. And thank you for using a video title that pulls attention to this topic. Watching RV full-timer videos, I often wonder, “so where are the people of African, Asian, Hispanic, Islamic and other heritages?” I have a friend who was born in Silicon Valley and her parents are Vietnamese immigrants. She doesn’t feel comfortable going camping and traveling in rural areas of California because of racism. I applaud J’s courage and independence. Her friendly approach is so smart. It’s important for white people to appreciate that traveling around the US and moving around especially unfamiliar places as a person who is not white, can present some difficult and unfair challenges. It’s 2018 and it’s embarrassing and shameful to me that the US as a country hasn’t moved past racism. I remember J’s interview with Bob when she talked about transporting RVs. Kudos to her for living a traveler’s life. Travelers meeting other travelers I know Is full of very gratifying experiences. 💕

I was so glad to have seen this video. we are really wanting to go full time in 2020 but was very unsure of the safety issue with me and my wife being black people. there are wonderful places to visit and see that are off grid. we especially loved your Alaskan series,it was just wonderful. We would like to have those same experiences and really enjoy the outdoors and all the adventures it has to offer. like I said we are looking at 2020 as our launch year. we are excited but realistically we are cautious also. take care we love your videos and the nomad life.

Loved the interview, but just wanted to mention that it's not a good idea to drive with bright lights on in fog because the glare can make visibility worse. I was a professional driver for many years and experienced negative reactions from some people just because I was female. I hope that situation has improved.
