I am so glad they brought Brian Banner back. He's my favorite Hulk villain, plus I'm a sucker for the Father vs Son tropes. Not to mention that the Hulk and Brian stories written by Bill Mantlo, Peter David and even Greg Pak are some of my favorites and easily the most important Hulk stories (in my opinion).
I thought Brian Banner was the "Guilt Hulk" and the "Devil hulk" was a totally separate entity superior to all the other hulk egos

The True origin of Hulk, almost all superheroes have a connection with cosmic or spiritual beings and that's basically how they gained their abilities.
This immediately makes me more interested than I have been in YEARS in the Hulk as a character and entity in Marvel

Cool nod to the Hulk TV show from the 70's-80's('78-'82)with 'Jacqueline' McGee. The reporters name on the show was Jack McGee. It's been quite some time since I've read a Hulk comic but I will definitely check this series out.

Funny because other people keep saying the comics are in the toilet and the MCU is better. I guess it's all perspective. I personally can't stand stand the MCU but to each his own.

This is either going to be the hulk story that I did not know I wanted... or the hulk origin story I wish they never wrote. On one hand its really rich and thick with the detail, and pulls reference from only the best places... And it will ad another layer of detail onto the monsters, Sasquatch, and Brian Banner when i go read about them... BUT, it will also change my idea of what I believe the hulk to be, how he came about and why he is so important to the marvel landscape.
If nothing else this adds a new super power to the marvel landscape beyond just magic, mutants, inhuman, and aliens.. but it then leaves me with the questions of like is these monsters the same as the monsters already on earth? Is the time Frank Castles got turned into FrankenCastle related to this group? And is this a green doorway to the world of monsters a marvel universe with its own designation, or is it a plain of existence like magic has its own plain, and hell is also its own place....
I really don't get this part of the marvel universe so if your looking for a topic that needs to be covered explaining plains of existance would be really good new ground to cover.

Devil Hulk isn't a new Hulk. He's been around. Originally Devil Hulk was the dark side of Hulk that all the Hulk personalities had to team up to get rid of. In Chaos War, Banner's father returned from hell as the new Devil Hulk. Now Devil Hulk #2 (Banner's father) has returned
