I have heard all of these stories before. In fact as a teacher I also taught a chapter that discussed Hemant Karkare and Major Unnikrishnan. But none of the sources made the narratives as gripping as you did. Like a good story teller the effect you have on the audience is of a lump in the throat not a bawling mess. I salute your skill as well as, of course, the bravery and resilience of the sung and unsung heroes of these and other such heroes.
I have been a long term fan of TISS before it was a thing. The day I wrote a comment on Varun's channel and he responded, it was a fan girl moment. But I love how you have come into your own after the split from SNG. I love the real Kautuk.

The way every single staff member of the Taj had back of the 30 guest and offered the kind of hospitality, in the thick of the crisis, was indeed a greatest act of bravery, courage and consciousness.
    P. S : my greatest condolences to the family members who lost their loved ones in the series of terrorist attack took place between 26 to 29 November.

I was just 8 years old back then & 800 kms away from mumbai but still my mom was so afraid that she didn't allow me to go to school that day. We were continuously watching the news channels & praying for all the victims over there. Your video made me remember all of that & put me in tears man.

I was 8 years old at that time and I don't live in Mumbai but still there was a fear and everyone was glued to Tv for innumerable hours.
Mumbai faced a lot that day but it's so inspiring that a lot of people showed humanity to unknown people of unknown religion and that is what we called United India.
Kautuk, you are an amazing Story teller and I am sure if you sell tickets it will be a big houseful.

I vividly remember a short story called 'India's Heroes' from the time I was studying for my ICSE board exam in 2018. It touched briefly on all these stories in the narrative of a child giving a speech for his English class talking about who his heroes were. Watching this made me nostalgic and this series is hands down my favourite thing to watch on TH-cam right now :)

Cried watching this. I'm sure every Mumbaikar, regardless of age, remembers where they were on this day. Still gives me goosebumps when I pass across CST, The Taj, Gateway, Cama Hospital and Leopold Cafe. Every bit horrifying. Kautuk, the masterful storyteller, this one just had to be told. So thank you. May we never forget the courage and humanity displayed that day, facing pure evil in the face.

Thank God for martyr Tukaram Omble's bravery. Catching the rat Kasab alive was the single most important achievement in this horrific tragedy, which helped our intelligence identify the exact threats across the border, provide the international community undeniable proofs of Pakistan State's active sponsorship of terrorism as an instrument of proxy-war, and perhaps foiled many other attacks.

I couldn't stop weeping from the start of this story until the very end, hearing about the act of bravery by all the heros! They shall always be remembered!!
Just by the way you tell the stories, I could imagine the whole thing happening in front of my eyes.
It brought back the memories of that night. I am a Mumbaikar and was in 8th Std when this incident took place. I remember how we were glued to the TV the whole night anxiously watching the news. My father works at CST and he usually comes home late. I remember being so grateful that he made it back home before this whole incident began.

I was 4 years old when this happened .
my neighbor was crying since her husband worked near fort , but luckily he returned home safe .
I didn't understand what was happening . everyone was glued to the news . I just knew something bad happened. Even my school declared holiday's for the rest of the week and I wasn't allowed to go play with my friends .
    26/11 truly shook Mumbai .
If it weren't for Mumbai Police , NSG , ATS,The Indian Army , the destruction caused by the terrorists would be unfathomable.
Mumbai shall always remember Tukaram Omble and others who were martyred protecting Mumbai

For some reason I avoided reading or watching these stories and tragedy happened to people. I didn't watch any show or movie regarding 26/11. I did bcuz I thought it will make me depressed and sad. While you were narrating this story...I did tear up. But It made me realise 26/11 wasn't just about tragedy but it was about immense bravery of our police army and people. Thank you Kautuk. ❤️May we never witness such tragedy again.

Loved how succinctly you put forth the whole story. Your angst while saying some of them spoke to the media and the media broke the news.
You forgot the tragedy at nariman house where the media was live broadcasting where the NSGs planned to drop for attack. And that resulted in a massacre. 😶😞
TRPs were worth more than human lives and rescuing them. 😶

I was in class tenth when this happened and I think till the day light no one was able to figure it out correctly. I remember one of Indore newspaper reported it like bombing. I lived in Mumbai from 2017 to 2020 I have gone there, from there, looking at the sea gave me goosebumps, I googled the images there. So that I can spot the places from outside. Then I saw people smile around and got slightest idea of how many people give out there everything to save a life and a smile.
This video is going to be in my whatsapp. Thanks Kautuk .

I was 8 years old, when this happened, but for me this all started at the morning of 27th, I, my father and my uncle were getting ready to go to my school and they to go out for work, we never turn on the TV in the morning, but I don't know why someone said "TV chalu kar toh" which means turn on the TV, my father asked "amna su aavtu hase" which program must be airing now, so news was started and then we saw everything. My father and uncle called their offices, my grandmother and I went down to catch my school bus, but everyone who came across us, said "vapas chale jau abhi school band hoga", go back the schools must be closed, I went back and slept.
I knew attacks had happened but I did not know the severity, my father went to office, in Bhiwandi, my uncle did not, his office was in Kalbadevi, near Marine Lines, for nearly a week I did not go to school. But whenever I hear this stories, I get goosebumps and that morning where we were getting ready comes to my mind.
