A couple of tips that I have to prevent as much damage as possible (i have long bleached,colored hair for 4yrs now): - use soft scrunchies, not hard rubberbands to tie hair -wear your hair up or in braids when swimming (especially try to avoid chlorine pool water) - wear sun hat in summer to protect roots and spray hair sunspray (yes this product exists) on ends of hair - wear silkturban when sleeping (or silk pillow case) - don't sleep with open hair - to grow out hair, use castor oil on roots (you can get that pretty cheap in bulk) -put (almost daily) oil on your ends before brushing hope that helps :)
my hair is so so damaged i don’t have much hope anymore i lowkey regret bleaching it but at the same time, i’m much more confident with it so i’ll do my best to make it grow and soft again💗
You guys aren’t alone i lost a lot of hair when I got mines bleach as well. I should of just had bleach it once but no I did it twice and I learned my lesson. Time to repair our hair guys! It will take time but we can do this and have a better experience next time!

To anyone who might care to know, I recently fried my hair bleaching it twice in one day (pain, don't due this) and bought Mei's kit in hopes of saving it. I plan on coming back to this comment frequently to give my opinion and updates, for anyone else who is considering to buy her box too. The color history of my hair is a long one, but to make a long story short, I permanently dyed my hair black (almost a year ago) and felt bold enough to get go platinum in one day AGAIN (I managed to get it platinum in one day in the past with ZERO damage that's why I was so naively confident). I bleached my hair 2 days ago from writing this comment. I lifted as much as I can in the 2 rounds of bleach that I did, but didn't give it another attempt as I didn't trust that my hair could handle it. I know that I'll definitely need another round of bleaching, BUT specifically just a color correcting round since my attempt at going blonde resulted in a lot of banding. I plan to revive as much of my hair as I can with Mei's hair kit before I can even consider color correcting my hair (I'll get it done professionally this time though haha). As I was washing out the bleach on my 2nd attempt, a SIGNIFICANT amount of hair was falling out, I managed to lose about a good handful of hair. Though I lost so much, my hair, however doesn't look noticeably thinner. As my hair was drying, it was very obvious that the hair wouldn't dry on its own for the next few hours (I was too scared to blow dry it so I sat still until it did & it dried on its own after 6 hours). I was convinced that there's no saving my hair. I was already in a panic, telling myself that I'll just dye it back to black and chop it all off again the next day. But after letting it dry, I began to have hopes for saving it. If anything, my hair does look rather dry. Ever since my last big chop and dying my hair (before going black and even while being black) I didn't suffer from split ends at all. However, this time... It's just straight up split-end galore all around my head. I've always watched Mei's videos and remembered about how much she changes her hair color, so there's got to be something that she can recommend for those with bleached hair, and low-and-behold, she comes out with her own hair care kit. Anyways, I'll comeback frequently to update! If anyone is going through the same thing I don't mind if you want vent about it with me under this comment, or if anyone has any questions at all, just feel free to shoot :-)
UPDATE 3/12 I received the kit in the mail today :-). Unfortunately, I believe my shampoo bottle came defected because it was leaking inside the package, however, I managed to come to a solution after contacting Fanola :-D So the last time that I washed my hair was the day that I dyed it (3/7), and I lost about a handful of hair. Since its been 5 days since my last wash & basically feeling like a walking ball of must, I went ahead & washed my hair. I was sure and was preparing to lose a significant amount of hair before getting into the shower but I actually oy lost a little. The amount of hair loss I lost this time seemed like a normal amount for me (basically, how much i would lose with my virgin hair). At the moment, I am waiting for my hair to dry. I still need to apply the leave-in products in my hair, so I'll update once I do that, and my hair is all dry

@@someoneyoumightknow2795 When you bleach your hair the hair follicles become pourus and hold onto water more which if you've ever washed bleach out of your hair that's the resson why your hair make feel oddly thick, for my short hair the top (i have a boys haircut with an undercut lmao) being by the bottom of my ears, when i bleached it it toke nearly 3 hours to dry when usually it would take 1 hour at most
I've already been using this exact routine for 5 months, except for the serum and split ends cream, and yeah it is really, REALLY good. I would definitely say it's worth the price, my hair is super fragile and I bleached it twice, and it's still pretty healthy thanks to this routine. I know it works because one time I was in a rush and I skipped the whole process (except for shampooing) and I got so much breakage.

Omg speaking as a cosmetology student using the concentrator nozzle attachment that comes w your hair dryer is so important. It focuses the air to reduce frizz and its a bit safer bc if your hair touches the bare hair dryer it can burn your hair!

I've been NEEDING salon quality products for an affordable price for years. I love the scents of these things too lol. I'm a half Japanese and am always on the lookout for brands that work well for Asian type hair. I have my mom's super thick jet black hair that's so stubborn when it comes to lifting.
mixing hair oil with leave in conditioner is so genius!! I'll try that next time I wash bc the oil alone always ends up being too heavy in my (rater short) hair

I bleach my hair a lot and I‘ve done so regularly ever since I was 11 lol and I really like the ogx coconut milk line. My scalp is pretty dry during the winter I just don't use shampoo at all :') honestly just water cleans the scalp and hair pretty well when one doesn't have problems with grease. And when I do shampoo, I use sulfate-free shampoo or my scalp goes flaky

my alternative for shampoo is cleansing conditioner. they can be pricey but they're worth it. they're better for my hair and I find that my hairdye fades less because I wash twice, 3x a week max. also is good for bleached hair because it doesn't strip my hair of natural oils too badly

Hi Mei! I'm just curious why do you wrap your hair right after showering rather than just letting it air dry if you're still going to blow dry? I might not understand have curly hair and would only wrap it after putting in leave-in conditioner to define the curls.
Mei's hair is stunning and these tips are great, but don't get frustrated if you can't get your hair this thick and long. Asian hair is incredibly thick and strong. European hair is way thinner, and African hair is the thinnest. It breaks easier. Sometimes it's just genetics 🤷♀️
Do you mean Asian hair as in all of Asia or only east Asia cuz I think South Asian have the strongest and thickest hair and Arabs probably have stronger and thicker hair than east Asians too
I had bleached hair for 2-3 years and last year I grew it all out but my natural hair still needs so much moisture!! So yes, I also think this would be helpful for natural hair
I have natural curly color-treated hair, and Fanola is mainly all I use aside from stylers. When it comes to my shampoo, conditioner, treatments, leave-in's, and oils. It's all Fanola. The integrity of my curls are intact because of them. My hair type has not be alter in anyway despite it being bleached and dyed. My profile picture is of me and my hair, just straightened at the time. It is honestly amazing. So yes, I believe these products will do wonders for you, this is coming from a Black girl at that.
Lord I hope the kit will still be available in August when I'm back in the US and able to have it shipped, had to cut off so much of my hair because of damage and just want it to look as beautiful as Mei's :(

The batiste one for dark/brunette hair worked really well for me when I had black hair! The residue(?) is really easy to get out and didn’t make my hair feel all powdery and disgusting :)
Hi ^-^ i have black hair and i have no problems with batiste dry shampoos. they are white but you can brush it off so you would not see a white cast on your hair :)

Mei's hair is stunning and these tips are great, but don't get frustrated if you can't get your hair this thick and long. Asian hair is incredibly thick and strong. European hair is way thinner, and African hair is the thinnest. It breaks easier. Sometimes it's just genetics 🤷♀️
Do you mean Asian hair as in all of Asia or only east Asia cuz I think South Asian have the strongest and thickest hair and Arabs probably have stronger and thicker hair than east Asians too

I have natural curly color-treated hair, and Fanola is mainly all I use aside from stylers. When it comes to my shampoo, conditioner, treatments, leave-in's, and oils. It's all Fanola. The integrity of my curls are intact because of them. My hair type has not be alter in anyway despite it being bleached and dyed. My profile picture is of me and my hair, just straightened at the time. It is honestly amazing. So yes, I believe these products will do wonders for you, this is coming from a Black girl at that.

The batiste one for dark/brunette hair worked really well for me when I had black hair! The residue(?) is really easy to get out and didn’t make my hair feel all powdery and disgusting :)
Hi ^-^ i have black hair and i have no problems with batiste dry shampoos. they are white but you can brush it off so you would not see a white cast on your hair :)
