JUMPS COACH: MY TOP 5 LONG JUMP MUST-DO EXERCISES

- I thought I'd produce a simple overview video which provides you with my top 5 long jump exercises. My 5 cover technique, conditioning and speed development.
So, just what are they?
1: Mat drills - to improve take-off and take-off set-up
2: Run-up development work
3: Bar drills - to improve speed, power and posture
4: Speed bounds to improve reactivity
5: Drop jumps - to improve speed, leg stiffness and reactivity
I believe that you won't go far wrong if you emphasise those 5 exercises across the training year.
I don't include weight training as it's - at least to me - not fundamental in improving a jumper. In terms of a return on it you'll not get the same as you would as on the 5 exercises I have listed here.

-MAT DRILLS (keep on mat on the take off board and other two steps before the first one)
-RUN UP DEVELOPMENT WORK ( practice running )
- BAR DRILLS (holding a bar )
- SPEED BOUNDS (bound for about 30 - 40 m )
- DROP JUMPS (jump from a higher box to the ground and with the momentum jump to another box with the same height )

is it unusual to takeoff on the right foot as a right handed person? ive heard people say use the opposite but im not as bouncy with the other leg
Some argue that the penultimate leg shouid the stronger one due to the emphasis placed on that step … to set and drive into the take-off.
I personally don’t subscribe to that way of thinking, believing that you can coach the “weaker” leg to do the right thing on the penultimate. Others may disagree!

is it important to jump in the air with your main leg so what i mean im right handed and i jump with the left leg which is a little bit weaker than the right one
im prolly replying way to late but im right handed with a right foot plant, it dosent matter do what feels best
