Thank you so much for posting this. I've heard about this trailer, but I've never seen it before now. Given that this trailer is from 1983, I am blown away by the quality of its sound and graphics. The audio is crystal-clear (I assume it was recorded for theatres with Dolby Surround Sound) and I've never seen hand-drawn animation come so close to looking like CGI.
Me too. The CGI-like animation for this ad looks INCREDIBLE and the sound(which I'm certain was in Dolby Stereo) is ABSOLUTELY loud and stunning. I can't believe this ad is 35 years old.
Can you do the original Regal Cinemas rollercoaster trailer from 1993 in 35mm? Oh yeah, and that policy trailer that the same company used in the mid-to-late-2000s (when they were known as Regal Entertainment Group) that had actual people and barely any CGI animation, also in 35mm?
Wouldn't surprise me. I just wish AMC was back here. The theaters were sold or bought by National Amusements who created a monopoly in town before they sold them off to Rave Cinemas before they were gobbled up by Cinemark (despite using the Rave namesake).
Kyle Leurband not really the easiest thing to find really. Most films will have an image...clear leader is pretty hard to find here..since most leaders get replaced and tossed but I'll keep that in mind if a long stretch of clear comes in.
Seems pointless to me anyway, unless people want that aesthetic. For me, it's the slideshow presentations my AMC theatre used to do before they started their projectors. They would run these slides showing trivia facts, ads and anything else while music from a radio station was played over the speaker. I miss those times.

Seeing this reminds me when I saw The Return of the Living Dead in 85. With my large popcorn and a large mr pibb. Take me back to those times.

Maybe it is CGI? This was after Tron and a few other early CGI things.

Alan Grant did this Regal's Rollercoaster policy trailer in April 2021.
I'm guessing the stars on the US map denote locations at the time. One of those was clearly for my town (Toledo, OH).

Sometimes I see AMC gift cards at some stores thinking they shouldn't be selling them here.
