Honestly, I don’t hate the idea of the Freddy Files being in universe to some extent and that Michael might've put it together or helped to do so in some way. I don’t think it's 100% all in the games since that can't be, but the drawings of the superhero in both books is a very interesting clue. Great Find!
Thanks for pointing all of these things out! People often close to the very idea of the Freddy Files just because it's inconsistent, but that seems to be... exactly the intent. I never really took the time to stop and pay closer attention to the book. This is a truly amazing theory.
personally i like to think of the fazbear frights books as ghost stories rumors and urban legends that people tell around the freddy universe, that's why so much silly shit happens and yet hints of the truth exist in there as well
I picture those books and the later "tales of the pizzaplex" as being the in-universe version of Goosebumps produced by Fazbear Entertainment to cover-up the real stuff by pairing it with blatantly ridiculous shit like Faz-Goo...
14:28 well, that Roblox game survival crew DID have a skin called “Michael Afton police uniform” so you could be onto something. I doubt the book is like, real though. But I can definitely see the red pen being Mike’s note in a meta sense
i love that someone's taking a crack at this. i do think that this could use a bit of workshopping, but overall I really enjoy your theory. i really think you're onto something. i love seeing new FNAF people pop up in my recommended. i look forward to seeing what you put out next :)) also fnaf 3 in 2015 truther hell yeah
Loved your theory and i'll add my two cents to it too. To me me there are two distinct tones in the freddy files. The first one is "informative" and the second one is "investigative" you described this as a missdirection, but i propose this is the "discovery" process of an ongoing trial. During discovery both parties have, in good faith, to share information relevant with the case. The way Fazbear present stuff like power usage or the way animatronics move could be construed as "see, it was safe, there was a guide and a lot of power left" Fazbear misdirection i believe have always been the fright series which share a common theme "body snatching/mind transference" most of the stories follow this trend which in the end seems like the truth seeping through. To me Mike is going around the fnaf universe as a whistleblower. Getting his hands in these kind of materials and creating leaks to tell the truth about Fazbear entertainment to the public
I mean matpat tried to. But we dont exactly have many candidates for who it could be. It could very easily be a new character or it could be an old one, we just don’t know. Theorists might just want to talk about other aspects that have more information or things that are just more popular
I mean matpat tried to. But we dont exactly have many candidates for who it could be. It could very easily be a new character or it could be an old one, we just don’t know. Theorists might just want to talk about other aspects that have more information or things that are just more popular
At this point I don't think it's a point of order. I mean, what shady company in media doesn't have a head of it so shrouded in mystery that they could've been replaced by a robot and nobody would have noticed?
i remember when back in the days when Freddy Files released people were talking about how empty and unimportant it was from the lore perspective... well, seems like you might have brought some light to an important piece of story after all!
It also explains how obvious Michael's disappearance from the book is. It's so noticeable that it's one of the reasons people discredit it. But of course he wouldn't be there if _he_ helped compile the book. Although, i don't get how this would align with his motivation of helping his father. If we put SL before FNAF 2 and his motivation is saving the souls, it would make sense how he'd have access to the files back then. But if he got scooped _after_ FNAF 1, then i think _that's_ when he got access to the investigation, somehow. Not before. Maybe I'm just misinterpreting you on that front. Either way, i think that's a compelling theory! And would give him something to do in the time between SL (or fnaf 1) and FNAF 3.
This is overall solid imo. Micheal is definitely part of the investigation but the minigames are not made by the developer as the books explain to us that the developer made the first 3 games and part of the 4th. With the minigames telling the true story behind the scenes as FNAF World is between the games and whatever happen in it effects the games and since the Puppet is the one behind FNAF World to help the main 4 spirits rest in happiest day that shows that the minigames are the spirits reaching us through the games calling for help to let them rest.
Good theory! I'm a big fan of the idea that much of the FNAF media exist in universe. Like Fazbear Frights being a goosebumps type book series by Fazbear to muddy the info pool with a bunch of outlandish stories, all while injecting bits of the truth so it will all be thrown out as fiction. Anyway this idea is really cool and plays off the log book perfectly. unless convinced otherwise I'm moving forward with this theory. Hope to see more from ya.
It's not very difficult to become a private investigator in the US, or a different "arm" of law enforcement if you've already officially worked as a security guard. Being a cop is a full time job and I agree that it's a bit of a leap just to assume Mike could have just been a cop and no one's bothered to mention it before; but he could have gotten a IP license, he could helping a member of law enforcement and if, especially, the case has been "dropped" then it may be easier to request records (in the US journalists investing a story, or lawyers for a legal case, often can request records. You don't even need any kind of special work history to ask to see stuff; it's up to that police department to decide how "safe" it is to let you look at it or make copies.). The more of a "cold case" there is the less incentive there is to withhold the information. If an investigation is very active and a lot of progress is being made then there's a lot of incentive to withhold information (so that suspects don't use the files as a guide for what evidence they might need to go back and destroy because it has not been discovered yet / how they need to change their own interview story to line up with certain days or times to make it look like they weren't in the area during the crime).
I really like the idea! It always bothers me when people immediately dismiss something, just because it isn't the "all solving clue" people want, or if it doesn't immediately fit into the current understanding of the franchise. So I'm really happy we have people like you who take a closer look at things most others don't care to explore more. And with the recent trend of seemingly odd things being canon or things being something in-universe (FNaF World and FNaF AR are canon as events/the Indie games, and possibly the books being actual in-universe games/books) I think you raise a really really good point. Now I'm wondering if the movie is an actual in-universe movie too. And we have Mike Schmidt as an actual character because Fazbear Entertainment doesn't realize it was likely a fake name. 🤔
I think you did really good four your first fnaf theory video, I think you have found a way to connect the freddy files to the rest of the series by connecting some of it to Michael Afton, I think that's really cool. I would like to see more from you in the future.🤔❤❤❤❤❤😊
I really like this theory! I will say Mike doesn't need to be a cop, per se. He could just be doing his own investigation *or* if he does have a more "official" title, he could have become a private investigator! Regardless, the security guard jobs could always be temporary things as a way to get close to the places he needs to be without raising suspicion + it would give him more access by default: he would have more access to the building(s), night shift means he can work uninterrupted (yk, barring the killer animatronics), et cetera.
9:44 I actually have a video in the works explaining the meaning behind the indiegames and what they mean regarding the lore since obviously the old lore is still very much canon. Interesting video by the way, a great start to your channel
i think that’s really interesting and i like your take specifically about the different types paper and how old they are, my one problem with it is: doesn’t the book specifically refer to the names of games? i might be wrong but i remember it referring to them as “fnaf 1” or “sister location” which would kinda be really awkward for this interpretation
I think in the video, they said that the text itself isn't what's important, but the _format._ The text is mostly a red herring by Scott Cawthon, simply lampshading how the actual investigation might've gone. At least, that's how I understood it!
@@carimeslockdownedtree2654 i get that but honestly that’s a super hand wavy and could be used to discredit literally any point about anything, you could say the number of missing children showed was always a detraction since the number wasn’t important but the fact they existed to make a theory about there being only 2 mci victims (just an exemple) i get that then but it’s super lame 😭
@@Nanabigas yeah, very fair. At this point we're just trying to get by, using pincers to pick apart anything that may be of use. I haven't fully read the Freddy Files because of how much it's been discredited, but I'm considering reading it now. Maybe treating it as an actual investigation might help get a new perspective, even if the exact conclusion of the video isn't perfect. Maybe someone else might find something they didn't.
Solely agree with you on here. I do think that in-universe the Freddy Files are info from the Police Department that was used to investigate on the Indie Dev’s work of the FNAF games and the books because in HW1, the Indie Dev was under lawsuit with Fazbear Entertainment LLC. So I think that the Freddy Files development over time as a way to investigate more on what the games are about and this could explain why some things in the Freddy Files have “errors” or wrong facts- because they might be misleading the police to see what’s the truth behind Fazbear Entertainment. This might imply Fazbear created in-universe Fazbear Frights books aka FrightsFiction. And I just think the red ink could be Vanessa. But I think the Freddy Files were put online and that could let Glitchtrap learn more about the FNAF lore since he started mimicking the violence of the FNAF games. Overall, Amazing video
I think its a great theory, I think its something that nobody really thought of. Have a good day, and passion makes things possible so keep of going :)
Okie, so i'm wondering. Do we think FNAF World is the reflection to the audience of what Mike, or the team collecting these files, is going through to put together as much true lore as possible. And if it is, could that be why the "Chica's Magic Rainbow" 8-bit ending in FNAF WORLD implies we meet Henry at the end of the game, in what might be a "Sit-down interview" we don't see but then goes horribly wrong. Amazing Video by the way!!
i like it, i been thinking a lot about fnaf story now, the thing i started to believe everything we are playing and reading is really something created by fazbear entertainment to gain profit using the story of tragedy everyone knows that william afton is the killer and animaltronics are possesed by ghosts kids, because they have same games and books we are playing and reading but everyone thinks is just fiction, not something really happened, it seems only mike really seems to know what is going on its likely what really happening now, after ultimate custom night, someone created entire faked new reality, everyone in fnaf 6 got trapped in this new ghost virtual digital world all the ghost kids got revived and mike and henry are back as well, henry regrets create the thing resposible by it, the storyteller, a AI made to create more stories of fnaf, he know nothing can't stop it anymore if all them are back, the arcades contain the memories of past life, playing them recover these memories my biggest question, what happened to william afton in this new world? its seems william afton is back as well, but he has no memories and someone work at the pizzaplex, there a message likely referring to him in security breach "Dave sucks, they should fire him" - for a game only reference few characters, this come from nowhere, and what puporse steel wool was thinking? william afton really back without any memories, but his Agony take form of glitchtrap and now is trying to fused back to him, that why we get so many references to william, because its his agony in digital ghost world Vanny is without a doubt the storyteller, her ending in hw2 achivement, is named "CONSEQUENCES"
Well I don't think Charlie the first to die, I think through what we can see my guess is she Died weeks after the missing Kids, and shortly after CC bite. Being the only one who knows they are dead as the puppet saw Charlie body. Others didn't know they were Dead until give gifts/give life. The only counter evidence is Henry "A wound first inflicted on me" line but who said that wound was Charlie death, there is other ways to emotionally hurt someone that cruel or evil.
What about if there is a parallel in the way the movie MCI and book MCI needed their memory jogged by the drawings, and how the game MCI need their memory jogged by the games. But is it Michael doing it?

I think its a branch of Mimic1 at this point. Like...burrows clearly wasn't the top, and even if he was, he died so that Mimic1 could spread.
It’s a question with no answer. There simply isn’t enough information to say
At this point I don't think it's a point of order. I mean, what shady company in media doesn't have a head of it so shrouded in mystery that they could've been replaced by a robot and nobody would have noticed?

Great video, keep it up!
i like it,
i been thinking a lot about fnaf story now, the thing i started to believe everything we are playing and reading is really something created by fazbear entertainment to gain profit using the story of tragedy
everyone knows that william afton is the killer and animaltronics are possesed by ghosts kids, because they have same games and books we are playing and reading
but everyone thinks is just fiction, not something really happened, it seems only mike really seems to know what is going on
its likely what really happening now, after ultimate custom night, someone created entire faked new reality, everyone in fnaf 6 got trapped in this new ghost virtual digital world
all the ghost kids got revived and mike and henry are back as well, henry regrets create the thing resposible by it, the storyteller, a AI made to create more stories of fnaf, he know nothing can't stop it anymore
if all them are back, the arcades contain the memories of past life, playing them recover these memories
my biggest question, what happened to william afton in this new world?
its seems william afton is back as well, but he has no memories and someone work at the pizzaplex, there a message likely referring to him in security breach
"Dave sucks, they should fire him" - for a game only reference few characters, this come from nowhere, and what puporse steel wool was thinking?
william afton really back without any memories, but his Agony take form of glitchtrap and now is trying to fused back to him, that why we get so many references to william, because its his agony in digital ghost world
Vanny is without a doubt the storyteller, her ending in hw2 achivement, is named
"CONSEQUENCES"
Im sure its been mentioned, but Scott said the red marks were from previous characters who existed in earlier versions of TFF.
Well I don't think Charlie the first to die, I think through what we can see my guess is she Died weeks after the missing Kids, and shortly after CC bite.
