Getting rid of jobs isn't the best thing in the world. But for anyone who's even seen the working conditions inside a steel factory, it is certainly a blessing. These highly dangerous industries should be first to be automated
well obviously since germany wouldnt produce as much or more steel then an industrialised china with more then 10 times the population even if they tried to compete
in terms of measuring the raw material piles, why not just integrate the flow of the in/out transporters? you do get integration error but can be kept pretty low so you dont reset often

Chinese steel is never up to world standards as their QA system is crap Been using pipes and fitting with delamination's and fractures which show up in radiographs after fabrication Not impressed
China is phasing out those mid to lower grade steel manufacturers and its products and concentrating on 1100 to 2200 psi steel that the world market demands .......For LNG tankers, submarines, nuclear power plants.
LOL,While you type these biased and baseless words, the world is busy buying Chinese made steel --- businessmen are the most honest and they won't be stupid to agree with your baseless words, and you may not know that actually Chinese made steel is more expensive than Japanese made, but it still sells well
