This case is NOT for a production / high end gaming system- the lack of GPU slots and relatively poor ventilation are proof of that. However, for a media center / console replacement with a mid tier GPU and lower power CPU, this would make a nice 'common-area' PC. Clearly the focus was on aesthetics over pure performance and so long as you bear that in mind whilst planning a build in it, you should be fine. Seems pricy for that market segment, as most building a mid-tier PC are probably on a tighter budget, putting double the budget into the case as can be found in alternatives leaves less room for components... I'd be interested to see how this works out long term and if a future revision is more enthusiast-focused.
Its certainly not for a high end gaming system, id personally consider it more for someone as a second system, perhaps in a living room, playing movies from it, and maybe using a 4060 or 4070 GPU for some decent gaming experiences. I think its a specific audience who want a certain level of performance but are just as focused on the shape, styling and how well it would fit into an environment with multiple people - some of who dont appreciate or want RGB and loads of fan noise and flashing lights. like a fancy speaker appearance.
i plan on throwing a ryzen 5 3600 and an a750 in one. people see what its capable of fitting and forget the case’s purpose. the new, molten hot parts are just not meant for it. she’s beautiful. she’s unoffensive. treat her with that respect :)
you think all case need to fit a I9 and biggest graphic card ???? I'm professional, i use i7 and mid range gc, this case suit to me because it's look good and i don't play game 4k ULTRA 120fps... My 10 years old build has only 1 gc, what's the point having multiple slots for me ?
I think, to be called Mood, they should have put in some strong RGB, maybe for backlighting. Then you could "set the mood" by choosing a different colour and it could look good in a living room.
Not so sure I would ever buy this as I think the motherboards in this sector are always 'compromised' a little and they are quite cramped, but this one is pretty nice for a living room or bedroom when the other half decides that a normal case is too big and ugly. kinda looks like a B&O speaker from a distance.
@@DavidLeBon-qq9vr I think he means they are always quite cramped and you lose slots and often lanes etc. The case kind does look like some speakers ive seen from Swedish brands.
If I bought this case id have to do a lot of research on the compatible motherboards - not a market I know well at all. That AORUS board looks pretty good to be fair
Interesting video! For me, I think SFF is a bit too challenging/limiting in terms of what you can do, but interesting case regardless. Though, I can't help but wonder if the design team had no cat owners. Certainly looks like a scratch post and I think its going to get knocked over if you put it in a living room with cats (only half joking :) )
Great review, Leo. That looks to be a lovely case. At 2:30 are the front panel connectors indeed socketed at the front panel? How does that affect cabling the Mood? Or is the front panel itself removeable to ease cabling? How easy is it to clean the fabric? This case strikes me as more of a case for an office or study environment - the sort of case an architect or graphic designer might have - so I wonder, did you try any professional GPUs? You mentioned that the motherboard you used had a second M.2 slot: M.2 slots can be used for far more than NVME drives - OCULink and 10 Gb Ethernet come to mind; I'm sure there are more - so does the case have support for such uses?
The front I/O could have been positioned better, perhaps to one side but you just have to deal with it slap in the centre. Dunno about cleaning as the case is brand new and only time would tell. M.2 expansion beyond storage is a no-no. Similarly if you want to use 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives you will need to switch to an aircooler to free up those bracket postions. Leo
This really is quite beautiful in its execution. It’s pushed me from considering a mini itx system into actually building one soon. This is on my buy list now.
Same design as the XBOX, which is a great design :) It would be nice if the stock fan could be replaced as they are known to be a bit ticky and leak a few drops of oil. I replaced the stock fans on my Torrent Compact with only 3 Noctua NF-A12x25 black at super low rpm and created the Fractal Whisper ;) Since this is negative air pressure then dust will come in from all sides and the black version will likely be covered in dust over time? Yeah after watching they should have designed it for all GPUs or made it possible to slide space around like some small cases. But I don't mind them trying something different. Rather than build the case to the same width as one of their fans, make it about 3cm wider all around (support for any GPU) and have a slightly higher stand and gap in case someone puts it on carpet.
All good about the blood 🩸 Leo 💪🥰😇👍. We all know it’s the blood oath that the PCMR requires to be part of this great community of gamers, hobbyists & enthusiasts 🥰🥳🥳. Sweet looking build and as looooong time ITX builder (about 14yrs) I’m loving the aesthetics, style and colour of this case …… damn! another ITX case to add to my collection ahahaha😅😂🤣😅😂🤣
I’m a big fan of the Revolt 3, so I really like that this is basically the same thing but with more guided airflow and less gamer. Looks like a great product.
An interesting case and I'm glad it exists. The mATX form factor is as small a case as I like to build in, but I do enjoy watching things like this. Smart design.
This would make a GREAT Home Theatre PC. You don't need high-end components to build one, and the case can sit next to a media cabinet and blend in nicely.
The build looks good at the end, but luckily you cant really see into it - its a weird shape, the performance seems pretty good - cant see much throttling etc.
Just a suggestion, when you do back to back noise comparison don't speak between the samples. It makes it more difficult to compare volume and tone. Otherwise a great review. Agree that this is not a high-performance case, but rather something you need for a particular setting (or wife-approval), like an IKEA livingroom
Also agreed. I (and I'm sure many others) turn up the volume to listen to sound tests. Having talking blaring out suddenly is very grating. I've seen some channels even show a countdown on screen before the sound test ends and the TH-camr resumes talking.
It needs some changes. I rotate it so the I/O is facing another dirrection, I think we need an ITX mobo with a different layout for SSF verticle builds though. It also needs to bring air through the bottom to the top (similar to the Series X), which I think would help the thermals. It also needs a movable spine for better GPU support. Otherwise, this is a good living room PC for a low or mid tier build.
Sir, I loved your video and the product, one question: - Long connection cables generating high volume, no impede air flow? I think you can improve airflow with shorter cables...
have to say, this case really appeals to me, so I can build into something different for a change. id need to educate myself on the motherboards again so I didnt end up with a lemon
An interesting design, I wish more ITX cases would take the motherboard I/O position into account when making these cases, biggest annoyance with this design is that it requires me to pick up the PC and look at the bottom of it, or pull off a top or back panel to plug in a USB cable.
Consider a powered USB C port replicator on SFF builds in this orientation. Gives plenty of connectivity and bandwidth for most uses with a single cable to route.

I report spam when I see it, but have no respect for TH-cam, since they clearly do not care, or just see the spam as more traffic/revenue.
Me too agree
Its cool to see them trying something different - we need these things

My next build - thanks Leo !
What a super little chassis - would fit on a desk beside my monitor. I do love Fractal Design for cases
Glad to see you can still get a case that doesn't look like a goldfish bowl.
Quite a few options on the market today
I think, to be called Mood, they should have put in some strong RGB, maybe for backlighting. Then you could "set the mood" by choosing a different colour and it could look good in a living room.
I actually think its quite cool there is no rgb - but I get your point, maybe some fine lines of RGB along the top and bottom of the chassis
Some rgb would be great cause you could set it to like a white or blue hue on the upper part. Like a glow or night light.
You know im not a massive RGB fan, but you could add some nice glow effects in a room top of the case, would look cool. like a solid warm light.
I like rgb. I often just make color schemes that are one or two and have them static. Can add a lot to the mood of the room
Yeah a few rgb strips would be a good extra.
Its like a really nice fancy version of the Corsair One case - exact same vertical hot air flow system
I think we can safely call this a winner - its on my to buy list now
Wow, really good little chassis that, wouldnt expect anything less from Fractal tbh
Nice watching Leo build a PC - very relaxing - and he didnt bash anything off his desk this time either
Trident Z5 Neo, lovely memory, havent seen anyone use it in a build yet
That Seasonic PSU looks good - Their silent options look great
The riser cable implementation is pretty good overall, not sure its for me, but its well thought out
I love the finish on the white model, was hoping you would get it to review !
Cable management looks a bit tricky, did a good job leo

that’s such a beautiful finish. We get so used to technology today but remember when we had beige boxes. All the same. It’s a great world now

Kind of cool it supports an AIO cooler given its tiny size.
Clearly one for the desk with the I/O ports at the bottom, and rightly so, would be a shame to hide this on the floor
