Well done Sam! I’m no sailor and live as far inland as you can get but enjoy watching sailing content on TH-cam, from sailing doodles to aquaholic to stumbling on your channel. A very ‘earthy ‘ sailing channel. And very enjoyable. Really like it when you amble about on land as well. Will keep watching!
Those 2 storms were laid on specially as a memorable finale. Really enjoyed seeing the Scottish scenery from the boat and the Dolphins of courses.Well done to you and Katrina completing your epic voyage
Great series Sam. Been on holiday and not been sailing for a while so really enjoyed watching these whilst I’ve been away. All good but great finish to an epic trip. Want to do the same myself one day 👍
What a brilliant end to a an amazing voyage, Sam Alas I am tied to the desk and can only manage weekend trips out of Walton on the Naze, to the Blackwater etc, but I was totally inspired by your journey, and by the simple sailing in the delightful Hurley 22 that you espouse. You have proved to everyone that you don't need a fancy boat and engine to get round the UK. Very well done, and congratulations !
I've just come across this channel today Sam and will of course be watching all your episodes. Many congratulations on completing your trip from myself and all of us at the East Anglian Sailing Trust just across the water at Levington!
What an awesome trip Sam, thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s some thing I really want to do in my 20 footer. Will definitely be referencing your episodes for my planning. Thanks a lot!⛵️
Hi Sam, this is again Eberhard from 'Långe Orm'. Congratulations on this phantastic achievement in your modest but able Hurley. And this last leg had again all the elements of your summer journey. Fast sailing in flat water, thunderstorm, rain and gale force winds, and in the end calm conditions when picking up your mooring. And I'm really envious on your self built grp doger with the clean view ahead in all conditions through the polycarbonate front screen. I'll have to built such a doger for my own boat.
Thanks Eberhard, yes the GRP dodger has been a great addition to the modifications made to this Hurley. I'm seeing more and more yachts fitted with GRP sprayhood
How are your plans concerning the Jester Azores Challenge next year? In the end, it's 'only' 1200nm from Plymouth to Praia do Vitoria on Ilha Terceira, much less than your sail around Britain...ok, the way back is another 1200nm, and a bit of cruising to the other islands and perhaps just a short visit to Madeira...that adds up. But the boat is ready for the task!
Fantastic Sam, well done. A great last video too, beautifully edited to Clare de lune. Put your feet up and have a well earned rest before your next challenge…..surely there is more to follow?
Great last leg with those dramatic thunderstorms! Congratulations on completing the trip safely Sam, really enjoyed the videos. Looking forward to following the next one…!!!
Well done Sam and what an achievement. Creating memories is what I have come to see life is all about and you've created some awesome ones on this trip. Thanks for sharing. Do you think you will create a follow up video about the trip kinda like a summary good points, bad points, what you would fo differently if anything etc?
A great achievement. Hats off to you. I came across your video when starting chemotherapy several thousand miles away from home which is not far from your start/ finish so I have enjoyed every episode as you visit some familiar places. Certainly helps take your mind off some of the less pleasant aspects of treatment. Hopefully I can get back to sailing once this is done. You must be very pleased with having completed your circuit. It bears out you don’t need big bucks to have a big adventure but you do need good seamanship as you have amply demonstrated. Jester Azores next?
Thanks for watching, I'm currently looking at the additional items required and subsequent costs to make Katrina Jester Azores ready, more on this to come. Otherwise plenty of other places to make an adventure. Wish all the best with the Chemo 💪
Well done that man, it's been refreshing that you've created all your own content rather than rely on gimmicks for likes, very refreshing. I'll wing some dosh to the fundraiser tomorrow. It's been gripping, what's next ?
Bravo Sam. It goes to show that you don’t need to spend copious amounts of spondylitis, or for that matter a larger sailboat. All you need guts, and plenty of heart…
Well done Sam, epic achievement and what a great final leg home to Pin Mill. You've absolutely smashed it! Loved the clip with 'Sailing Home' playing and the great ending montage to 'Clair de Line'. See you about in Pennyhole Bay.
Well done Sam, enjoyed following your adventure around the UK. Preparing to go around in 2025 and would be interested in a lessons learnt video on your views on the route. Im still undecided on which way round, left or right? What equipment you wish you had taken. Already ordered the Ecoflow River 2 based on your experience. Great channel.
Thanks for watching, it is totally worth having a power bank onboard for a non-vital source of power. I am working on a video currently talking learnings from the trip. Should be posted in the next few days.
Congrats Sam really enjoyed the journey. Will also be sailing from Ipswich next year and would like to discuss some ideas I have. I’m new to sailing but have lots of experience in film making having been in the industry for 10 years. What’s the best way to contact you over the winter to discuss my ideas ??
I entered the Jester Challenge to Baltimore in Ireland which started from Plymouth two weeks after my planned departure date from Harwich so with that in mind I would be going clockwise. I had intended to go either way based on wind direction at time of departure, it was a bonus there was a North easterly blowing for the first ten days of the trip to get me down to Plymouth in plenty of time. Thanks for watching
@@samsails9820 I am going next May/June. I would prefer clockwise but I think I’ll go anti clock due to the normal westerlies that are in the Channel. I’ll leave it to a month before. Then plan. Thanks for your reply.
The Hurley 22 is a very underrated little Yacht in my opinion..
Loved watching this series! Great job!
