4:46 is amazing!!! ryu seung min is amazing to be at his level against world class players with a disadvantaged backhand which all the players take advantage of, makes me wonder how much harder he would've had to work for it
Bad quality of the video image, but the quality of the players... it's out of this world. And apart from that it is very interesting to see two penholders with very different styles... Both great of course. Models for their own techniques and styles...
@perniciousnc not nervous or intimidated. yes under pressure. he hasn't played in a long time vs ryu seung min so he's cutting back on power until he learns ryu's play style.
hunkeelin how do you mean that? I dont think the coach can do much, its not a football game...the players anyway do their best and at the end anyway the chinese always win...
CosmosZeroX actually more strategy comes from the coaches than you may think. And the view off the table is sometimes more effective than from the players point of view.
Kevin actually if the players are about the same level, then the coach will account for over 40% of the decisions, namely ball placement, type of serves and receives, etc. The reason why Sam don’t have a coach because there are no good coaches from his country that can help him at his level. I’ve coached TT for many years and players are not always aware of the opponents weaknesses.
RSM plays well, but the J-pen style is RSM's style, you can't say that it kills RSM's playing. RSM chooses that style. Also, keep your racist comments to yourself.
@perniciousnc you doubt he can do much with his career with such style? he won the olympics like this. wang hao is always under pressure vs ryu becuase he remembers 2004.
wang hao was too nervous, intimidated, under a bit of pressure, causes some inconsistency in offense n defense. i dun think ryu would hv such effect on the second generation chinese or even having advantage against european players, i really doubt tat ryu can do much with his career with such style... but it was a good play against wang hao! thanks for sharing
@@sumitshrestha2986 That's because his/her backhand side's ordinary weaker to attack or defend than a shake-hand player_except for a excellant reverse pen-hold back-hand attacker as Wang Hao, that he/she tends to stand close to back hand edge side. Especially when he/she try to make a heavy attack, he/she'll move even closer to back-hand edge side, there will then come out a big gap or hole in his/her right hand side for the opponent & become his/her weakness therefore...
Because the coach keep shouting out of the game, which would be suspected to be giving advice illegally. i ever see a RYU's game with this coach in london, this coach was definitedly too screaming!

Ryu and Wang had mad respect for each other
last good match of Ryu
4:45 Ryu's crazy traditional backhand killed wang's modern backhand surprisingly.
4:47 wow !
Beastly!
@@DLC1325 sexy backhand
cannot say how much i hoped for ryu

If Ryu won.. it would have been interesting to see him against Zhang...
I can't find a video of a match between those two except doubles
me neither
He would be destroyed by Ma long
yeah.. Ma Long is good at playing against penholders who is not rpb oriented player like Wang Hao...
Great observation, they’d never played??
@@Al-ImprovEd2022 they had a doubles match but no singles
sempre é muito bom ver videos com profissionais jogando, é um aprendizado. Legal.

@SibelCeck yea i thought so too. by 5th or 6th game though, wang hao relearned ryu's play and he started applying more power to his shots
Ryu's forehand mixed with Wang's backhand would be like.. ZOMG!!!!!! ;)
Ultimate player
oui, le souvenir de 2004 était présent...
RSM have one of the best backhand I've ever seen... but Wang Hao is not bad too... ;-)
1:02 How the hell did Ryu get that back?
only he and xu xin and ma lin can
probably most players will
give up that ball.
Footwork, determination, and applying the right stroke, but only a few players can return those shots.
Sweet, finally Wang Hao gets his revenge on Ryu Seung Min for the 2004 olympic final loss
Wang hao literally wins against ryu seung min many, many, many, many times
06:28 so cool from RSM
Wang Hao forever
if korean coach didn't leave rsm would def win. The coach is the chess players and the players are the chess piece sad.
hunkeelin how do you mean that? I dont think the coach can do much, its not a football game...the players anyway do their best and at the end anyway the chinese always win...
there is no IF in reality!

Its still not only because of the caoch you know samsonov doesny have a coach when he play

great one
Does ryu use back hand flat block.?

Why did the coach leave?
Громко подсказывал
Why did his coach leave?
Wang hao 👍👍👍👍👍
@WHDBY : I don't known but Ryu played well until his coach go out
One Dragon down, more to come?
amazing
If RSM 's coach did not go away ,RSM may won
If Neo had chosen the blue pill, RSM may win
Wang hao ficou no maior vácuo no final do jogo kkk
I think right after his coach left, that ruined his psychology and he lost his determination
Why dit Ryu's Coach go out ???
little late lol, but it seems to be because coach was shouting out advice during the game which is illegal, he is only allowed to cheer.
4:46
great mental from Wang Hao
Prime Ryu Seung Min:olympics 2004
@LVF88 its a rule...
2.00 rsm is using a butterlfy rubber?? i thot he was xiom
@perniciousnc yeah he won't get anywhere with this style he only has ever one an olympic gold who would want that
意外に3:4なんだ
So many Chinese in the comments that are still butt hurt about 2004
So true
Butt hurt yes. But Wang Hao is pure gold.He single handedly revived the art of penhold.
don't u underestimate ryu seung min
@DocCouz WTF ! wang hao is the best backhand penholder ! but RSM has a bad backhand compared to top player ...

The weakness of a pen-holder is actually at his or her right hand side...
JOHNSON Li very much so.
My response maybe late, but could you emphasize on why weakness is on the penholders right hand side? I don't really understand.
