Just started getting into more crafty-type hobbies- realized I had absolutely no fundamental skills at all lol. Then I find this 9 yr old video that answers pretty much every question I had about cutting straight and addresses how to deal with every scenario I encountered my first time truly to cut a straight edge. Practically solved all the problems I've had with hand-cutting, especially slippery rulers, in two minutes. You might have just saved me $40 getting a mat cut. Thanks, my man.

I attached doublesided tape and then sandingpaper (grit 400) over the hole backside on the ruler.that works very good.

Krister Svensson for grip you mean? That’s a nice tip. I’d certainly need a ‘for card only’ label on that for me, else I’d scratch my plastic up. But that’s a great tip - gonna order an extra £1 ruler and give that a go! Thanks for sharing!!
