He won 2nd place on a famous show in Korea (KPOPSTAR 2) & winners usually release their music right after the label sign them but Yedam was only 11 years old back then. With that, YGE decided to have him do this special solo release to also promote his group's debut. Same setup also happened in YG before with WINNER Yoon's pre-debut solo.

After he was put in Yg's own survival show called treasure box along with the rest of treasure and many other yg trainees to compete for the final lineup of Treasure. As you can see he made it and yeah. Hes Yg's longest trainee of 8 years.
