I don’t understand the ending. Are they eating Christmas dinner at the restaurant? Are they working at the restaurant? Whatever happened to their living arrangements? Did the daughter-in-law keep the house?
To all who didn’t understand the ending, sounds like she is making them work there to pay her back for the use of the house and all of her money they used, the person you heard ordering was a customer not a family member. It is odd that there was no “after that” but it was a funny ending.😅
Katrina is rather whiny. Why didn’t Katrina just take her own vacation? Time away from all of them sounds like a good idea. David is certainly no catch. And Katrina doesn’t need to take care of his family.
I really like the way the story went for the most part! I'd always wanted the MC to take the route of "don't like the help I give you? I'll stop helping, then" more often. It's just...the ending was weird. It feels like the story didn't end, it just stopped...
Never use water for chilies/spicy peppers, capsaicin floats on water like oil, all water does is spread it around. Wash with soap, or dilute with cooking oils then wash with soap. As for eating, most people know that milk helps, but capsaicin is alkaline so you can use acidic foods/drinks to neutralize it. Also absorbent foods like starches and carbs can help as well.
I think it’s pretty common how everyone feels about the ending. What I’m surprised at is how I almost felt sorry for Cindy. Yes, she was a little bit of a brat, but if everyone I tried to help resolve an argument between family members I got told in increasingly arrogant angry tones to shut up. I can’t say I wouldn’t be a little brat myself. I feel like Cindy as much a part of the problem as she was a victim of circumstance.
Looks to me like this is gonna have to be left to our imaginations. I definitely wanna imagine she gave everybody the worst kind of hell in the end, tbh

As they used and abused her, she's told them the only way they will stay living in her house is if they all work at her restaurant. That way they get to see how hard cooking for ungrateful people (and grateful ones) can be. So they start working there and realise they can't be rude to the customer the way they used to be rude to her.
Ok I think I understand the ending Seems as though she basically wrangled them into working under her at her restaurant to keep living in her house after that huge show of disrespect towards her. Work in her restaurant or get turfed and make it on your own.
Why is the husband's mom obligated to spend money on her son's wife's mother? Why isn't she pointing out that it's HER money paying for the vacation, so she has every right to go as well?
Pretty sure it's because it's the son's wife's money. The way Robbie asked if they were using her money again and she said yes. I'll bet anything David gave his mom and all access card to HER accounts. I've seen this before in divorces. Especially when one partner is of a higher socioeconomic standing. During the marrige the husband expected his wife to give his mom a black card and pay the bills off as well as work and do all the SAHW/M stuff. She came from generational wealth and had a really high paying job as a freelancer. In reality she didn't even have to work. Unfortunately they did not have a prenup. However during the divorce proceedings they found out that he was not only cheating but both him and his mom was stealing from her family accounts that they had no access too. He really tried to negotiate that his mom be allowed to keep the black card. Once everything came out she didn't have to give him a red cent. And he and his mother had to pay back every penny they stole. Aaaaannnnnnd he had to pay HER alimony. He ALMOST got away with half of everything PLUS alimony. Thank ODIN his sister was an idiot and let slip he was cheating! Even though there was no prenup the state they lived in has really strict infidelity laws. He almost got her family home too. All this to say I truly believe you should be very very careful when marrying someone from a lower socioeconomic lvl then you. Always always always get a prenup that is FAIR to both sides. Always always always make sure both parties have proper legal council when drafting the prenup as well.
