    Sorry, I mean to say that the baseline issuance for 58 weeks is 64,090,000 and if you add the 70,000,000 token airdrop the total in circulation should be only 134,090,000 (1,105,000 x 58 = 64,090,000 - not 134,090,000).

    So I get to share my driving data with insurance companies. Then they pay me pennies on the dollar in exchange for insurance rate spikes?
    The best case scenario is that I end up being a better driver than expected so I dont get rate hikes and maybe they sell my location data to get me advertisments for places I drive by frequently. But that sounds like an aweful lot to give away for not much in return.

      @DePINConnection  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting take. Your data is only shared when you opt to share it. You receive weekly $DIMO rewards regardless for connecting and many vehicles can connect for free through their vehicle software. They are creating an open source App Store for telematics data and have a plethora of devs creating apps right now but it’s up to you whether or not you want to use them. Keep in mind your auto manufacturer is monetizing your data today so I personally don’t see it as giving up an awful lot. 110,000 vehicles are connected so far so there are certainly a lot of people that would agree.

    Hi. Great video.
    How long for ship/receive autopi device?
    Does the autopi device function as accessible internet hotspot?

    • @DePINConnection
      @DePINConnection  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! Right now the autopi devices are backordered for 12-14 weeks because the demand is so high! The Macaron is around an 8 week wait as well. I know they were considering giving the autopi hotspot functionality and there would be some sort of fee but I don’t think that ever came to fruition.

    Great video sir👌 thank you for the detailed info. Don't mind my ignorance...does dimo works anywhere in the world? Let's say in Africa, Ethiopia?
    Thank you

      I have historically done a 50/50 split but am moving toward a 65/35 split moving forward as I will have the cost of a cell plan in the future that i plan to cover.

    What happens, if you setup with a car, and then you get a new car? Great Video by the way!

    • @DePINConnection
      @DePINConnection  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you get a new vehicle, you’ll need to go into the app, remove the connection with the DIMO device and then remove the vehicle (in that order). You’ll then be able to install it with the new vehicle but unfortunately your streak does reset. Thank you for the feedback!

    4:30 credit karma, root, etc do the same thing. This isn't getting any more valuable data.

    Great overview. After getting basically burned on 20 Helium miners that took almost a year to deliver and 30 Airwares I backed off of the DePIN and stack up more ASICs that are mostly hosted by Musk Miners and others.
    I did look at Dimo a year ago and passed but now plan to start with 50.
    Just found you channel and have not watched all the vids but have some thoughts.
    Why did you choose to pay weekly. My currnet plan is monthly.
    Do you pay in DIMO or fiat. I plan fiat. My first 50 ish will go to friends and family, most are crypto ignorant.
    What is your experience from a tax perspective. This may not be an issue for a hobby miner but mining is my full time "job" the last 3 years. As such having a tax plan is part of my analysis on anything, including depreciation of the equipment. This is almost never covered by people in the space.
    Do you use any other apps to manage your fleets. I use SmartSheet.
    I also plan to start with some Hivemappers also.
    Thanks

    • @DePINConnection

      Thank you!
      I also got burned by Nebra with Helium but did end up deploying 70 rooftop installs with Sensecap/Rak/Bobcat and learned a lot through that process.
      I had also looked at DIMO around a year ago but didn't start my deployments until this past April (wish I had started sooner in conjunction with my Hivemapper fleet but better late than never).
      I do weekly reward distributions with DIMO for a couple of reasons and I do it all in crypto. I have a referral system in place and find that weekly reward splits drive more referrals as seeing deposits more frequently keep it in the forefront of their minds. Additionally, you will find that people go out of town or their car is in the shop and they will miss certain week's rewards and with the amount changing every week it can be hard to track. The way I manage the distribution process, doing it weekly works better (working on video that outlines this right now).
      I did some fiat payments with Helium and I learned that due to the volatility of crypto I will not go that route again.
      I do have a full time job and while these are side hustles, I do have separate LLCs for Helium, Hivemapper and DIMO. This allows you to take advantage of your expenses and I have a video that I am working on that highlights everything I do to get those businesses set up. There is some pretty solid tax software out there. One of the great things about blockchain is that everything is well documented but I do keep separate wallets for all of my businesses.
      I manage my weekly distributions through Microsoft Docs for Hivemapper/DIMO and use Hotspotty for Helium (awesome platform).
      It makes a lot of sense to do both Hivemapper and DIMO as finding the drivers is the majority of the work and this gives you two streams per driver. Expanding with DIMO is a lot easier as you really only need drivers with 2008 or newer vehicle that drive once per week. You have to be a lot more particular about your drivers with Hivemapper. I started recruiting for my Hivemapper fleet in April of 2022 and am at about 55 drivers and started DIMO in April of 2023 and have 145 vehicles connected.
      I have been out of town but will be dialing in on some videos starting next week on everything from setting up the business, to recruiting for your fleet and ultimately the onboarding/reward distribution process for each project!

      @@timpetherick708 It sounds so easy in retrospect but it's not. Started buying coins in 2016 ish, started with alt coins most are worthless now except ETH, then buying full rounds of BTC. I had a lot of "free time" while I worked in SE Asia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines after living 3 years in China, sitting in the back of an SUV while the driver negotiated 2 + hours each way of traffic watching YT videos. In the beginning they were all geniuses in a bull market, the vanished in the bear market. Over time I found those that were the real deal. I got in on THETA at .12, TFUEL at .011 4 or 5 years ago, it has been staked since then. So its great to buy BTC and get a 60X, but you need income when you don't have a job, this pushed me more into mining, staking and what we now know as DePIN. I need to earn more. When I "quit" work 3 years ago it was 9 months ahead of my plan, but I don't deal well with corporate BS very well, and even worse sitting on bags of coins. Walking away from a 500K salary to very little crypto income at the time was a shock to say the least.
      I spent the rest of the last bull market in monk mode doing research. I was a project manager and have led a lot of power projects as well as other industries. I an leveraging that experience to shoot for 10X better performance than the good players in the crypto industry. Data is the new oil so my focus is consolidating as many sensors as possible, give them a path to the internet and collect the rewards.
      Here is one that I am currently installing while waiting on more devices. Location has 650 acres, 35-acre lake with 2 other small ponds. I have installed 12 poles across the property. Each pole is about 14 feet tall so they can be reached with a ladder and can have 16 to 30+ devices installed on each one. This is a remote area and uses StarLink as the primary internet access and cellular hotspots for the remote ones. StarLink to Helium long range Wi-Fi (800 feet), Helium mounted on a pole that is connected to WeatherXM weather station, Fry Foundation wildlife camera, Fry weather camera, Fry sky camera, Fry outdoor decibel miner, Fry Satellite miner, FRY outdoor air quality miner, Geodnet (only one), 2 FRY traffic cameras on the pole at the road. Also, huge opportunities on the FRY unreleased nodes and miners. I am going BYOD with most of the FRY miners.
      The poles will get power form solar panels and battery storage. This will get a 25% tax credit for the equipment and installation cost, as well as 85% deprecation over a 5-year period, yes that over 100%.
      Bough some ASIC's in the bear market and will continue to add them where I can use the heat for food production.
      I just see you comment, if you have further interest please replay again. thanks

    I’ve asked 4 TH-camrs if they knew the password to connect to your vehicle in the settings. No one has responded in discord, and I have a 3 day wait says my email. So now I’m asking you. Do you know the Dimo password?????

    • @DePINConnection

      Hey curious what password you’re referring to. In onboarding in the app I’ve never needed a password to connect the vehicle. I also have only connected Autopis in my fleet.
