- The Six Dales Trail explores parts of the Yorkshire Dales that are not often explored by the tourist crowds. On this journey you will discover the delights of Wharfedale, Wasburndale, Nidderdale, Colsterdale, Coverdale, and Wensleydale. Only 38 miles which we completed in two and a half days starting in Otley and finishing in Middleham. Only two nights of wild camping were required and a resupply happen in the delightful village of Pateley Bridge and the oldest sweet shop in England!

The wind sounds really nice on the moors. Perfect music at the Abbey. Thanks for taking me home again. What a fun and nice dad you are.😊❤
And what a nice comment, I’m forwarding this one to my kids😂👍🏼

Thanks Alan, yes very enjoyable hiking area, and your so right about the weather 😁Cheers
Happy to report that the trail up to dob park bridge from Otley is now dry!!!! ( We walked it yesterday) At last! It's a great one to do in August when the heather is out... Thanks for vlogging the trail 😊
Thanks Sam for sharing the info. I can imagine in August it would be stunning. Cheers
Hi another nice video and walk 👌👌
Glad you enjoyed it, Cheers
Love this part of Yorkshire as you say, undiscovered with an unexpected beauty in the six dales, thanks for taking us on this journey and keeping my feet mudless🤣
Glad you enjoyed it
Nigel,
A wonderful trail and I loved the weather and time of year in the video. It was great to see one of the trails from the trip that I had to cancel last year (but would still love to do), albeit in the reverse direction than I had planned, although ending at an abbey and castle would probably have been preferable. This certainly got me pining for Yorkshire. Didn't see too much mud in the video, so I'm guessing you put the camera away for most of it.
I did wonder if you had to modify your usual solo walking pace when walking with company.
Keep up the great Yorkshire/Northern England content.
Cheers,
Ryk.
Hi Ryk, yes the weather was great, the grey gloom contrasting with the daffodils! Had to be careful filming, a few near misses of mud sliding head of heels, hence not a lot of the black stuff on film but sure plenty on the trail. Our pace was really governed by our pick-up time and the mud did grind us down at times. Think in summer you could certainly do it in two days but worth allowing time for Patley Bridge, the abbey, castle and the end village Middleham. On reflection, I think in summer we would have spent more time in the places mentioned as it was cold to hang about, so maybe still two and half days! Thanks for watching Ryk and I appreciate the comment.
Hello Nigel. Another lovely video. Always great to relax and watch (and usually re-watch in my case). Just out of interest, was that a different tent that you used for this trip? All the best, Paul.
Well spotted Paul! Yes it's the Nortent Vern 1. It's had lots of good reviews on TH-cam, however I'm not as convinced yet. Will be doing a few more trips and then possibly a tent review. Glad you enjoyed the hike and certainly appreciate all the watches. Cheers
That they stood six days in mud in reached in the sticky glue, liquefies the ground the cost of one night ask why why did they not bring boots they said the answer sticky mud go once stood, and then up the embankment they climbed the Sun been dried the model that was the tale of Johnson stones a legend from 1764, Corn 🌽 fish ended everything that night
