I really love that you mentioned acne and whole hormonal health. I would LOVE to hear more about how you regulated your hormones for less acne and how long it took. It’s the HARDEST thing for me to do.

Agree. I dislike the focus on acne solutions always being skincare/topical products, when it reality acne/persistent breakouts can just disappear out of the blue for good with no real explanation. I looked at my diet and wondered if I'd eaten anything different or changed skincare and the answer is 'nope'. It all just stopped at the start of the C-19 pandemic, and the only thing I did differently is stopped wearing foundation on a daily basis for two years. I think it's got to have something to do with it but other than that, I feel the same as you and would love to know why acne and zits just magically stop for no reason (or start for 'no reason'). A new skincare routine has also kept my skin looking the best it has in over a decade. PS= Ages ago I had something called mallassezia folliculitis (aka 'fungal acne') triggered by new K beauty stuff I bought and with tonnes of research I figured out that I had to toss loads of stuff out and switch to using Nizoral (yes, the pink anti-dandruff shampoo!!) as face wash on a once-daily basis until I'd used up two bottles. Then the 'treatment' was done. IT WORKED! There's a website where a really cool person has comprehensively listed products and ingredients to AVOID if you're trying to treat fungal acne, so please do look for it so you don't accidentally keep buying things that trigger your issues and keep you in a redundant, frustrating cycle. Good luck either way in 2024 and I hope you find YOUR magic recipe. 🙏💖

Absolutely the same, I use Ordinary Vitamin C with vitamin F and that makes my skin so pure and fresh. But I do agree that you need to be constant with it in order to get that glow. It is not going to vanish overnight but the more you use it the better your skin gets.

I made a similar list last year and I think I'm going to keep with it.
    Out:
Vitamin C, Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid specific serums - These three are found in almost every multi-serum or cream nowadays and their effects isn't that impressive to be splurging on having seperate serums for each.
Acne products - I've also recently managed to biohack my skin so I get much less breakouts. I've also always felt like skincare for dry skin has been better for me.
Skincare tools - In my twenties I did spend a large sum on tools that eventually just layed dormant or even was damaging for my skin in the long run. While I feel a bit fomo over infra-red LED masks, I'm very hypochondric about exposing my eyes to certain wavelenghts of light.
    In:
Facials and non-invasive treatments - Going in once a month would be my ideal, but aiming for 1-3 times a year as my skin is in pretty good shape.
Skincare that targets multiple concerns - Moving away from products that focus on 1-2 ingredients and offering more of a buffet, with the exception of retinoids.
Eye cream - Never felt like I needed one until now. Specifically, eye creams that don't just focus on hydration but do a little more.
Luxury skincare - I spent many years on a low budget so I'd like to explore what high-end brands have to offers. But also, my skin has improved a lot since incorporating more expensive skincare in my routine.
Rice Ferment extracts & hydration - I've seen a huge difference in the temperament of my skin since focusing more on hydration and pre-/probiotics in skincare. Healthy skin is hydrated skin with good micro-flora.

      Good points.
I recently purchased more luxury brand and on expensive side skin care products like chanel, dior, estee lauder.
I use on daily and my go to skincare products from chrissie that has less pricy products but also very pricy products. I have combination and sensitive skin.
I started to use retinoil recently as I have fine lines forming in eye area. I recently tried to search for vitamin c product or other serums but I think I will avoid them. I already use mangelic acid for peeling that suitable for sensitive skin and it is quite pricy but it does not make my skin worse.
I also bought cooling gel pads for eyes and eye cream just for morning.
      Also moisturizers.
I am curious about what probiotics you use, can you share it?

I wanted to share this treatment for age spots and to see if anyone has any other ideas. My dermatologist was over 70 but he had a fabulous treatment for age spots on the tops of hands, etc. it was quick, painless, and sometimes he didn’t even charge me if I came in for something else. The tool he used looked identical to the one that burns off warts. It was very cold so maybe liquid nitrogen? The spots lightly scabbed and then fell off taking the age spots with them! When my dear dr. died, I booked an appt. to have his partner do the same treatment - but he didn’t know how to do it! The secret died with my dr. friend. ): I went to a third dermatologist and described the treatment. This fellow hadn’t heard of it either but agreed to give it a try. He just tried it on one spot. It didn’t feel the same - as in it was too cold or something. It took off the age spot but went into deeper layers of my skin than the other treatment. It created a little scar. It has healed so it’s not very visible but I gave up pursuing it. I’m always very careful to put sunscreen on my hands when I go outside especially travelling in the car. My sister has had a lot of skin cancer that has had the be treated so I figured getting rid of my age spots was getting ahead of a possible problem - with the added bonus of younger looking hands.
One comment about adult acne. I got acne on my cheeks (face) in my mid 30s. My dr. said it’s hormonal if it shows up as an adult in that way. I used a Retin-A generic. It took care of the acne as well as a large brown spot the size of a quarter.

Vitamin C is very important for me as Thai (and people who lives near equator😅)
It’s play the main role for antioxidants in daytime besides sunscreen.
UV index in my country is usually over 10, that sunscreen can’t handle perfectly.
    Like.. double barrier❤

I live in an American country with a part in the North Hemisphere and another in the South. I live very far from the Equator line, but we do get from frost/ snow very low UV index to extreme heat +10 UV index in my state! Living in different climates and UV indexes through my state, I unfortunately can not tolerate vitamin c very well… Don’t know why! I started in good terms with it, but now my skin just can’t! Tbh, Summer is the time VC seems to work the worse to me! Meanwhile, I can tolerate retinol and those stuff pretty fine!
I think it goes from individual to individual!

I came to the same conclusion re: vit C vs A. I used to have no issues with vitamin C, even after two years on tretinoin. After increasing the concentration of my tret, though, vit C immediately started irritating me. I thought it was the tret, but it went away as soon as I stopped using vit C. I tried reintroducing it after 6mos figuring my skin was still sensitized from the stronger tret, and still no luck. I might try it again down the line but I figure I'm getting the best bang for my buck with tret anyway.
Hypochlorous acid is great. I use SkinSmart and it's not elegantly packaged or aesthetic but it WORKS.

Here's a combination for you all to try if your skin is sensitive/reactive: Spritz your face with Avene's mineral water spray and when still damp massage in a few drops of Medik8's 'Super C Ferulic' in the morning-- let it fully absorb. Follow it with Malin & Goetz's 'Vitamin E Face Moisturiser'. Once that's absorbed, follow with sunscreen. At night switch to Medik8's 'Crystal Retinol' starting with the lowest strength and working up to the highest as your skin gets used to it. It's the BEST routine and I highly recommend it for all people with sensitive, acne-prone skin who want to improve clarity, achieve smooth incredibly soft texture and fade any form of discoloration left behind from ancient zits etc. Also great for diffusing pores and creating much shallower fine lines. I love to hear what works for everybody else too. My cleansing routine is always Korean and Japanese but the 'heavy lifting' products are Western. Good luck to all! 💖

My dermatologist recommended vitamin C for me. And it does work on my skin. Super! Now it's my holy grail. It lessened my pigmentation and acne.
So i suggest consult a dermatologist before using any skincare product. They are still the EXPERTS with scientific explanation.
Some videos just recommend products for promotion.

Seems crazy to me that she’s giving up on a scientifically proven antioxidant, then promoting HOCL like it’s a miracle cure. Vit C is as good as it gets for under-sunscreen sun protection.

The only Vit C serum I like that does not irritate my skin is the CF-K by MDAIRE, but its VERY pricey. I use it more for its antioxidant/protective properties as a base & yes, brightening tx for day, under SPF. Its only 1 that is not sticky, nor pills under other products. When I was broke i relied on Ordinary's Pycnogenol, but it HAS to be mixed with the right essence/toner or its a greasy mess.

I would say keep the vitamin C. Just because something doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean it doesn’t work for others. I would recommend perhaps trying different percentage and change how you are using it. Things to consider don’t use it at the same time you apply retinol or tretinoin. There’s good data stating using L ascorbic acid as antioxidant can help your skin reduce previous skin damage from sun exposures and helps with uneven skin tone such as melesma. As always apply sunscreen for all the things you mentioned to buy to work.

Hi beauties, I don't know if you take requests/suggestions on videos to make, but I would love to see one where you rank products from different categories like moisturisers, sunscreens, toners/essences from lightest consistency to thickest consistency no matter the skin concern or ingredients on them.
As someone with oily but very dehydrated skin I always struggle the most to find the right consistency as i'm on the limbo between oily skin products and dry skin products. For example some gel creams (oily skin) are too thin for me but thicker gels are good, and some "normal" creams (dry skin) are obviously too thick for me but those on the lighter side are perfect, so I can't never blindly go by the gel/cream terminology
I think most of us that are on that middle ground would really appreciate a video like this ranking popular/requested products (as much as possible tbh) to have some reference to work on and compare when buying new products!! And if that's not possible as a one time video then it'd be great if you include it more often on regular videos like Ro did with her moisturiser suggestions on "the best moisturisers of 2023" video where she ranked them all by thickness!!
Thank you for always providing the best videos and info!!

hypochlorite acid is insane. literally after using it for one day, two very stubborn closed comedones that i let hang around on my face for months because i didnt want to pick at my skin, came to a head the next morning and then two days later they popped on their own. they’re currently healing and i’m just putting some retinol patches on top of them, but they’ve been on my face for forever it feels like and immediately wanted to leave after i incorporated hypochlorite acid in my routine. so in love with it

Ok this is a serious question, I’m not being cheeky but I always thought hypocloris acid was diluted bleach? We used to use it in one of my old jobs for cleaning certain things. 🤨 where have I been I had no idea this was used in the skin as well very interesting

    • @prophetessoftroy
      @prophetessoftroy 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

It’s not bleach, but it is actually the thing that gives bleach disinfectant properties. HOCl is a byproduct of an electrical charge passed through a specific concentration of saltwater. Basically, it’s a super dilute solution of hydrogen and free available chlorine in water that’s got something like 80x the disinfectant power of bleach without any of the harmful side effects. It’s also something that is made naturally in our cells as part of healing. Until Covid, I don’t think most people outside of chem labs or certain medical applications had any idea that it was a thing, except anecdotally. Super cool, right? I think the video predictions are spot on, and that we’re going to start seeing a lot more of it in cosmetic applications going forward.

    • @delirium4414

Bleach is NaCIO. Hypoclorous acid is HOCI, and a human metabolite. They both have chlorine, but slight differences in the compounds change the effect

For someone (I'll be 34 soon) who has very dry skin in the winter (red and everything) as well as someone with jaw problems (hello jaw surgery later this year) which do you think would be a better investment to start off with the medicube, glow, boost, deep collagen shot, or the derma ems shot? I know they are all very different tools but since I can't get all at once I'm trying to figure out which would benefit me the most.

I don't see many people talking about it I have recently started going to a Korean clinic after going to dermatologists and aestheticians for years in my home city and in a small amount of time I have seen a positive improvement with my skin (which is acne prone) but I'm afraid in the end it would turn out to be another waste of money,, the dermatologist in their clinic is very kind and has patience with all my questions which I'm not used to, I know Yikes most dermatologists I visited were rude and impatient with me so I just don't want this nice treatment I'm receiving for a change, to cloud my judgement,

Like Most are great for smoothing product on skin (that can be done with hands) or promoting lymphatic drainage and nothing else. I’ve watched videos of dermatologists (men and women) say all the other things the tools claims it does for skin is scam and marketing.
