I was hooked to Dee 1 , when I heard his album Slingshot David. I still to this day , play the song “ I don’t wanna let you down “ it’s on my faves playlist ….& his humility, realness & love for God & ppl is admired - a true legend -CRAZY how God will bring 2 ppl together to do EPIC things to further His Kingdom ! Great interview!!!

I never brought into material things to affirm me even when I could, since it could never affirm me ,

This is empowering and beautiful. There's nothing wrong with being powerful and influential but, its how you use it. Dee-1 demonstrates power under control. He is very meek and humble.
I loved the whole interview. The authenticity in it focuses my attention like a laser. I'm not good at small talk because it seems like such a wasteful passing of time. I crave depth or silence. Nothing in-between. And you gentleman had the complete focus of my spirit, mind and body all at once. Thank you for giving me a brief moment to see what presence really feels like... Be here now.... I had to edit this after I heard Dee mention Ghana. I went to Ghana, west African for 2 weeks and since then, I don’t cry over hot water. It’s weird. Very humbling!

Man it's so crazy that this came up on my feed and I'm listening to this and getting to hear about @Dee1 's Paw Paw, knowing that he just passed recently. The impact that Dee1 has had on my life in the short time that he's been in my life has been profound. I ended up crying so much about Paw Paw passing despite never meeting him and only getting to see him on Instagram before he passed. This was such a special podcast! It's my first time finding it and it touched my heart!

Absolutely phenomenal interview. Material things don’t make us. I felt what Dee-1 was saying being in Africa. That’s something I’ve always been appreciative of is embracing other cultures and peoples lives. It does something on the inside for sure. It’s humbling. This interview 🙌🏽😭

I resonate so much with never being someone who cared as much about materialistic things. It is especially hard to stick to that when everyone around you finds value in the things you don't. It is refreshing to hear not only women but men relate to this. I believe since we are living beings and we were created from God, then the only thing that truly matters in this world is God's Mission and living matter. Its nice to have the "perks" that come with life, but the best things in life come from our experiences and emotions. Not the things we buy. Temporary satisfaction is cool but I am looking for perfect peace and I want to lack nothing.
