    • @Stampistuta
      @Stampistuta 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hi.kingharry Good value for money, it’s Osprey so the materials are good quality. It’s a thicker material than the Exos etc but you lad expect that from a cheaper bag. My only real issue is that mine squeaks regardless of how I fit it, I still have the bag for winter camps when I want to carry more gear.

    After setting up lenght of the back its not true that those are not going anywhere. For me they will unplug too easily. Good thing is that you can loop those pull out loops to other end of those begs and it stays very well. Bad thing is that adjustment is hard after that, but I don't have to do that often.

    Hi! I'm planning on getting this or the Fairview Travel pack. Which one would be better for a 3-4 day trip? I'm not going on long hikes/camping but just mainly as a travel pack. I get sweaty easily so I'm thinking the Renn would be a better choice but Fairview is more geared towards travel. I'm not quite sure which one to get. I would love to get some insight on this please. Thank you!

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Rook is more breathable and supportive for trekking use, the Fairview is a more suitable travel pack but does compromise on carrying comfort a little. Which one you opt for is largely personal preference, but if you're not walking for long, the Fairview should be a good choice. Harry

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, the Rook is a one size pack, so should fit your boyfriend without any issue, some of Osprey's other packs do come in multiple back length options and for those packs he just falls into the Large sizing, but may still find a Medium feels better on. If possible we would recommend getting him to try on the packs in both sizes at your local osprey stockist, if this isn't possible then we'd err on the side of a Large for him.

    Good review. Is it also possible to attach the tent on top of the bag? I think I have seen a bag where the top part of the bag could be raised further and a tent could be placed between the top and largest part of the bag.
    What are your tips for this?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could possibly squish it between the lid and main body of the pack but I wouldn't recommend it. Heavier items are generally best stored either low down in the pack or as close to your back as possible.

    Really useful video, do you reckon the osprey talon 22 would have scope to be attached to the front by paracord or just the daylight sacks

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately the Talon 22 doesn't have compression straps at the top to feed through the loops on the Rook, so the only way we can think of is if you threaded the shoulder straps of the Talon through the upper compression straps on the Rook. It can definitely be done, but it may not be particularly stable.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're planning to carry heavy loads for a lengthy period of time, the Atmos will be more supportive and comfortable. If you're on a budget, the Rook is still a fantastic option, but you can feel a difference when trying both on back-to-back. Kind regards, Harry.

  • @ArnauViaMartinezSeara
    @ArnauViaMartinezSeara 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am considering buying an entry-level lightweight pack, and I can't decide between this one and Exos. I am particularly concerned about the hip belt on the exos since it looks so minimal that I am not sure if it useful at all. On the other hand, I heard the padding on this one is really stiff and not particularly comfortable. I have considered other options such us Gregory Optic, but I like the Osprey's all mighty warranty too much

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The rook is super tough, comfortable and deals with heavy loads with ease, but it does come with a slight weight penalty. The Exos isn't as supportive when loaded with more weight, but it is far lighter just as comfortable with less weight. It largely comes down to where your priorities lie and crucially, which one fits you best. Kind regards, Harry.

    Hi! Nice videos, thank you! What has better backsystem, Rook or the Kestrel? Or it is almost the same, only attachment of the straps is different. Rook has them very unusual, but I like it. :) But maybe I prefer more features on Kestrel. :)

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lukas. The main difference between the back systems is that the Rook has a more breathable "trampoline" system which is better suited for use in hot and sweaty conditions. The Kestrel is more of a workhorse and better suited to demanding use across all conditions. Both are adjustable to ensure a good fit. I hope that helps? Paul.
