Repacks are a great way for collectors to move the cards they don't want to collectors that may want them. I do think that the seller should be as thorough in the description as possible and not be deceiving but leave some hope and wonder for the buyer however, as far as Commons and stars go it is what the collector views those cards as. A common to one may be a superstar to another. That's this hobby there are no general rules when it comes to who's a star and who's not. I've collected for over 40 years and this is the same hobby as it was 40 years ago. Only difference is now we've moved to putting them in plastic cases so some company can tell us if its mint or not then trying to sell it for 10 times the amount (which is f'en ridiculous) but it is what it is. Yes, JABBS is nothing more than a lying POS. He will scam you just as quick as anyone else will (REMEMBER HIS 1990 FLEER JOSE URIBE VIDEO???) C'mon guys, spend time complaining about the real scammers in stop complaining about spending $40 on $50 worth of cards.
Here's the issue I have with repacks. I did not see one card that would be easy to move on Ebay. Commons, semi-stars and stars who cares. It's about whether or not the card can be sold. That is the current state of the hobby. Stick to vintage and collect what you want to round out your old sets. It's a hobby not a money making machine. I think to many people have lost that concept which is ruining the hobby. Once valuations where put on cards the SCAMMERS entered the hobby in full force.

Love the picture of the grumpy cat! My opinion is that anybody with a feedback point total of 54 has no business selling self-generated variety packs, no matter what he calls them. Looking at an assortment like this, I feel that when you see original vintage cards, or newer cards printed in vintage designs, you notice the stark contrast between the old days, when any issue was immediately recognizable, and the productions of these later years, when who the hell knows what year or issue it is until you read the fine print. Good job calling out the descriptive puffery!

Kelly Gruber was actually a pretty good player, should be considered a semi star at least, but I think being in Toronto for his career didn't help. That being said card is still a common.
I dont buy or sell repack boxes/packs because you are right, its a card dump. Basically getting rid of cards. And to think, as a buyer, you are getting more than you payed for is ridiculous. The person repacking is doing it to make a little money.
I agree. People send Jabs fully loaded packed boxes to send items to their store to buy their product. Of course, you won't get a box like you see in most of Jabs videos for the price shown. Supply and demand cause prices to rise an fall just like gas. This box at $1/card seems like an OK deal. But most of those cards I would put in my base pile and donate. But the bubble wrapped pack was decent for the money. RA Jr and Shohei Rookie cards were the best ones, I think. Not sure if the boxes are worth the higher price yet started asking for unless they put more autos or numbered cards in them. But I could see some young kids opening this and being happy with it. For a professional card collector, yes, it's not worth the money, and you should look at buying the actual cards you want.
Commons are base cards of players that are not stars, semi. stars, or RCs. Inserts, parallels, autos are not considered commons. They may have the same value as a common. But you shouldnt buy a repack looking for value beyond entertainment.
I have started and continued doing these to compare what jabs gets vs an average joe collector such as myself. I don’t buy them with any real expectation other than to give my view of it. I’m just annoyed with what to do with a bunch of mostly valueless cards, I’ve got plenty of those lol
They send him the cards then he sells them. It has been a while since I watched an auction (I only watched one), but the prices people were paying are disgusting and he has moderators that delete comments if they call it out
Sorry to disappoint you but Jabs does not get paid for any marketing on the repacks. His payment are the repacks that are sent to him. He does not have anything to do with the eBay market or sell of the repacks. He just shows you what they are offering!! He does auction off some of the cards he get's from the repacks he has opened. If you don't like the prices you don't have to bid then. P.S. The Jabs family does not have any eBay account(s) now or ever.

If he said it would be one price for example 30 days and then it would go up after 30 days that would be ok. Sounds like that 10:40 isn’t what happened. Overall the value is there. Good cards
Seller certainly utilized bait and switch and shady verbiage in their marketing. 1- don’t raise your price without adding value just because you were highlighted on a popular channel like jabs. For hood or bad, bud channel is popular. These should still only be $37.99 as originally listed. First red flag. 2- the sellers line item description states a showtime RC in every box/pack. But 2-3 sentences later within the same context of description says showtime OR RAJr.. like, huh? “Or” is a big slide from the original statement of “showtime in every”. Second red flag. So sad to see get rich quick schemes invading a national pastime hobby. Face it. Dude literally skunked his packs, overinflated the price based on potential ROI, and was very vague in what one will actually receive. The only guarantee was an auto and 100 cards. Not cool Mr eBay seller. Not cool. And yah, this guy might be looking for reasons to complain but in all fairness, he saved me money by having legitimate complaints regarding this seller. So thank you for being our advocate Kyle. Much respect. Keep finding reasons for us to not buy in to most of these shady eBay repacks. Sone are worth it, sone are not. I totally agree it's shady of the seller to up the price from the one he promoted at.. and there are a lot of commons in this repack.. and I'd have flipped s**t on getting 70% of the order in a bubble wrapped stack not even penny sleeved.. but I'd say that I do have a different view on 'common'. My view is that if you have a 700-card-set and 84 of them would've once made a printed price guide - (do they still make those) - there's your difference. If it wasn't listed, it was a common. Maybe I'm old-school but being a base card does not equate to being a common, otherwise every blaster or jumbo box etc. on the market would be the same as buying a box of commons with a couple desirable hits.
New sub here. So i bought these as well. At $40, bought two of em. So imo i thought it was well worth it. It’s definitely a card dump, but in my two packs i got a total of 3 relics, 2 on card autos that were numbered and 3 ohtanis (guess I got the ohtani pack described that had two) and a bunch of numbered cards. For the $40 all in price point it’s definitely worth it. Not at $60 though.

I sold the Ohtani, it’s back had coloring to it that cards get from moisture in the air and not being protected. The Acuña actually looked really nice when I first looked. I think I might send it in so we’ll see, not sure how long it will be for me to send in a grading order…I’m waiting on a COMC shipment going on two months now
Repackers will quickly take down their products when looking sus....and then start over under another name. I did one from Jabs as well... disappointed. I did contact the seller about not being happy...he sent over more okay cards. Sheesh.

This product is very cheap based on what cards were in the box. I think that you’re underestimating the value of certain cards that were included. In fact, most of the hobby is way off when it comes to pricing cards. People that tell you that cards are not worth anything usually want those same cards for nothing because they actually know they hold value. People need to do their research and adjust pricing accordingly when selling cards.

Your first problem was going by what jabs says. I stopped following him years ago because he's shady. Also, you really need to learn what the difference between a common and a semi star player is. A common is a no name player and a star or semi star card is of guys that are known. You got very little commons and a lot of semi stars and star cards. And you said the description didn't say no commons in these so yeah.

The upside is you did receive a lot of cards, unfortunately a lot of commons. Maybe you should not pay attention to the person promoting these products. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't. The other upside is you just got a new sub. I've always believed there is a positive to be found associated with a negative.

I never said I expected a $200 card did I? I show them to let people know what they are getting vs what is shown. I’ve been complimentary to some repacks, some not as much. I only put his name in the title because he promotes them but showing them. I have many comments pointing out my goal isn’t to insult or bash him, I just show people the true version of the packs of they are different. Accountability shouldn’t be an issue. I find your clear allegiance to him weird though to be honest

to me a common is a non star or rookie card, non HOF player, if its a base topps cards of a star or minor star its not a common.

New sub here. So i bought these as well. At $40, bought two of em. So imo i thought it was well worth it. It’s definitely a card dump, but in my two packs i got a total of 3 relics, 2 on card autos that were numbered and 3 ohtanis (guess I got the ohtani pack described that had two) and a bunch of numbered cards. For the $40 all in price point it’s definitely worth it. Not at $60 though.

Disappointed for you when I saw the borders on Acuna Jr. RC and Ohtani RC. Sub 8.5 graded.
I sold the Ohtani, it’s back had coloring to it that cards get from moisture in the air and not being protected. The Acuña actually looked really nice when I first looked. I think I might send it in so we’ll see, not sure how long it will be for me to send in a grading order…I’m waiting on a COMC shipment going on two months now
Repackers will quickly take down their products when looking sus....and then start over under another name. I did one from Jabs as well... disappointed. I did contact the seller about not being happy...he sent over more okay cards. Sheesh.

This product is very cheap based on what cards were in the box. I think that you’re underestimating the value of certain cards that were included. In fact, most of the hobby is way off when it comes to pricing cards. People that tell you that cards are not worth anything usually want those same cards for nothing because they actually know they hold value. People need to do their research and adjust pricing accordingly when selling cards.

Yeah I just do it to review them and show others. I hadn’t bought any in years until I started thinking it would be a good idea to show what people get vs jabs himself. I actually would say I feel I’ve gotten pretty lucky. That Ohtani isn’t super common and almost covers the pack. The value was actually there I just don’t want a bunch of somebody else’s dump cards lol

Your first problem was going by what jabs says. I stopped following him years ago because he's shady. Also, you really need to learn what the difference between a common and a semi star player is. A common is a no name player and a star or semi star card is of guys that are known. You got very little commons and a lot of semi stars and star cards. And you said the description didn't say no commons in these so yeah.
I don’t go by what he says. I think some of the packs get juiced for him which is what I’ve been opening the mystery packs for. This was not the worst but still misleading. I know almost every player (or have heard of them) so there’s no “common” then? I see probably 20ish commons. I don’t go by the 1996 definition in a Beckett magazine that is completely archaic

The upside is you did receive a lot of cards, unfortunately a lot of commons. Maybe you should not pay attention to the person promoting these products. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't. The other upside is you just got a new sub. I've always believed there is a positive to be found associated with a negative.
I try to go after the ones that seem too good to be true. Some are good, some are bad. I just like showing the comparison of what I get vs someone who is “popular”. Thanks for the sub!

I do the videos to show that. Some have been good. He is not completely free of any criticism. He promotes it and financially benefits from it. He knows there’s bad practices in it and still has people sending them

I made it clear right away I thought what the seller did was shady, you can absolutely disagree and I have no issues with that. You wouldn’t say the majority of the cards commons? I’d be interested to see how many you say aren’t? ALMOST all base cards nowadays are commons, they carry little to no value. I also actually think if it was sold off, it would get its value back. You get what you pay for. You should not think your going to find a $200 card for only $40. If you want that kind of odds possible then buy your products from Topps, Panini, etc. Not repacks off eBay when you know your going to get scammed. It's the biggest scam market in the world!!! Sound like your just putting the (Jabs Family) name in your title to try and pull better views...
I never said I expected a $200 card did I? I show them to let people know what they are getting vs what is shown. I’ve been complimentary to some repacks, some not as much. I only put his name in the title because he promotes them but showing them. I have many comments pointing out my goal isn’t to insult or bash him, I just show people the true version of the packs of they are different. Accountability shouldn’t be an issue. I find your clear allegiance to him weird though to be honest
