Top guy full of nolledge thanks glyn great video I wish u a brilliant breeding season buddy ill be following as always h ave a great week all the best Sammy
my female wont nest, she does sit in the nest at times (plastic with felt) but wont build anything into it. I have male and female in same cage... he sings every day now and then and chases her around cage at times, but 0 actual mating. Any ideas? I've introduced egg food as of about a week ago, and they get 12 hours light (7-730pm or so) everyday and i cover at that time. She is acting different last few days, kinda staring off and relaxing alot... but both are cleaning themselve regularily adn completely active.
i thought sotoo, introduced eggfood, some oatmeal and fruit for a few weeks now. eggfood only last 10 days or so. should i give her a plastic nest when seperated? or wait until she starts trying to build one?@@redcanaryman
im getting new hen today or tomorrow who is already nesting apparently... my hen has had plastic nest.. i take cock out and he sings like crazy, bring him back an dmuch of the same. just normal canary, no husbandry behaviour like feeding eachother or nest building. gave new round of nesting materials. they both 'play' with it for a few seconds but 0 building. no feeding through bars though as i placed spare cage with cock next to hen. i did see them 'kissing' a few days ago, but she was in the nest and he was on the outside perch. introduced oatmeal and rice? not sure if its any good but they LOVE the oatmeal... also hardoiled egg shell. has pellets seed and oster shells in main dish. he chased her around the cage but its not to mate i think more territory. no action at all. ill keep you updated. @@redcanaryman
Beautiful Birds! Question… I heard a breeder say, he had gotten a wonderful cock hybrid from a friend but he won’t breed? He made lots of nice comments about it so why would he not bred! You mentioned a mule? What is a mule? TYIA
A hybrid is when you cross breed 2 different types of finches together, a mule is a cross between a canary and a finch, and both types will be infertile, it's like cross breeding a horse with a donkey the mule will be infertile
Cheers, Glynn. Great update on your birds.
All the best for the season ahead.
David
Thanks, you too!

Hi, it sounds like the hen isn't in breeding condition, separate them for a few weeks, then try again 😉

@davidstasyna3235 give her a nest pan, if she starts to build you can then reintroduce the cock, all the best, let me know how you get on.

Is the red color genetically inherited due to the food? I saw the chicks had white fur
Genetics, good stock birds that carry red genes, then colour food 👌
Good day new subscriber here, when do you start to colour feed? And how do you condition your birds for breeding?
Start the colour food around 5 weeks before the moult and i slowlystarttobringthem intobreedingconditionin February,
Red Factor singer canary?
They definitely can sing, and very loud
@@redcanaryman ok, thank you so much

@ thx… I thought probably so… but if that’s the case…why is that done/produced?
@twinwillows2705 for colour, type, and song
@ Here’s another question?
Which colors or mixes are named? What names? Example… The English Fancy or London Fancy?
@twinwillows2705 Sorry not following your question
