I would stash extra money in there for a rainy day. A tip I use for glueing things like steps, furniture, etc is, brace them as they dry with cheap lego blocks since they are a 90 degree angle and you can stack them accordingly. Makes ladders and things like that SO much easier to glue. TY for the lovely and relaxing video. Your work is beautiful!
Thank you for the tip! That is a really good idea and I’ve been trying think of something like that! 😍
I wouldn't hide money in there. Looks cool, so some jerk could take it.
@@c.c.1366 I don't allow jerks in..
The metal from a tea light is also great for making hinges, and other mini accessories.
That looks great! I always wanted a library with a ladder, too. Since the book “The Secret Garden” was basically the beginning of your journey to reading, rather than making a secret nook, you could print a copy of that book jacket and put it on the wall behind the door as a reminder of how your journey began. My partner is a librarian at an elementary school. She puts a lot of thought and effort into ways to get different kids interested in reading, as I’m sure your's did also. I hope you, Mr. Mini Life, and All Ball have been staying healthy and happy.
Thank you 😁 that’s a really good idea. Thank your partner for caring and doing a really great thing for those kids!!
I just got into making minis and making my own. I’m so glad I found this channel. Your work is phenomenal!
The space could be a reading nook with a built in bench seat topped with a comfy cushion and room underneath it for my favorite books and a flashlight. There would be several worn throw pillows and a well loved afghan and the ceiling could be a skylight so day our night my imagination could soar.
Yeah that’s what I need full size!!! I want that In my place to take naps in 😂😂
This is so neat! It reminds me of a space you would see in a vintage bookstore, 🤔 hmmm maybe behind the door, there is a stash of special books of some sort, or a wall safe ..or a wall safe that stores the stash of special books lol... Maybe a portrait of the owner of this library, or a hallway, or a broom closet to keep the space cleaned with books dusters and a broom.. lol O'gosh the ideas are endless, I'm just going by the feel of the piece as a whole. But As always very artistic!🥰 I love it!
Literally Every Idea you said was like the most amazing thing ever!! 😆😆 I was just sitting here reading going “ oh that’s soo good.. wait ooohh even better “ 😂
@@missminilife Aw.. ty! I've been watching your work now since the book nook Collab with Ara 💕..and then went in to watch all your uploads😁 I love how you use the simplest materials and whatever you have, that's me I save everything I can use...and you have truly inspired me to start my first diorama! That I've been thinking about..and thought, "yea it should be easy enough" nope!.. definitely trashed my first model and started over! 🤪 Believe it or not .. It was easier to design a mid-century side table that I installed a light up under a faux drawer so that my clay jack o lantern would light up.. sometimes it's those complex ideas that will physically work out well and the more simple designs want to give you problems..happens all the time! But I feel ya on once an idea gets stuck in your head it literally just won't go away until you make it! ☺️ I'm not alone! We are not alone.. 😆
An idea to place behind the opening door would be a light of scene of maybe a garden or some place you'd like to make. Something to signify how books let you travel to different places and time. So you have the option of leaving it slightly open with light shining through to create a mood or open to show the scene. :)
You should hide a letter to your future self in there. 😊
I’d read it when I was 67 and it’d just say keep up the good work…wait maybe I should do that actually 😁
This is so cute! That ladder is a triumph!
Thank you 🙏🏾 I couldn’t believe I botched the first one 🤦🏽♀️😂
I appreciate that your video is easy to follow, and has relaxing music. Those things with your soft spoken instructions make for an enjoyable video. Thanks!
I love watching you work. I think if that were my library, I would want the door to open into a secret garden. I am also very fond of that book & have read it aloud to four children.
Oh! Hearing it aloud would be so nice 👍🏾 that reminds me, I should check out the audio book it could be good for crafting!
I absolutely love it! My heart hurts that you had to make the hardware twice but the rolling ladder was so worth it. It's magical
Love it!!! Man, now I’m daydreaming about libraries…
Yessss just as planned haha!!
This is gorgeous. I love your feline assistant; I have one at home who helps with all my projects too (though my projects are mundane household chores and nothing this fun or pretty). The hidey hole behind the door would be a good place to tuck a love note or trinket you want to keep nearby.
Someone said write a letter to my future self and I was thinking it would be cool to do like a wax sealed one or something! There’s so many good ideas! 😁
I collect Target gift cards through the year to use at Christmas time. My cards get stored in a "hiding spot" in one of my mini builds.
Nice! Also smart I’m a last minute shopper sadly 😬😁
Oh yeah make it the beginning of the garden!! That would be so cool. Like… the porch out to the garden.
Or maybe a storage for book- and writing related things. Shelves with pens, more books, pergament paper, feather pens, ink, reading glasses…
I hhhhaaaavve to make tiny ink and pens and writing stuff now!!! Such a good idea! 😁
Awesome! I love the muted colors.
Thank you 😍
Wow! That is amazing. I am like you in the crafting sense. I conceive a project. Start it the realise I want more from it. And then a 3 month project turns into a 2 year project. Love your work. This is amazing.
I’ve learned that if I don’t give in and start adding stuff I’m not as happy at the end 🤣 also thank you ❤️
Fantastic hack gluing the books together in groups, I imagine it would have made life SO much easier when it came to putting them on the shelves. Your creations always hold me spellbound right to the very last second. Amazing!
Thank you! Yeah the book took a lot longer than I thought they would 😂
This is so beautiful! I really loved watching you make this, it really made me want to make a tiny library too.
You could put some small dried flowers behind the door, then you’d have your own secret garden.
I have always loved that book too.
I really like the idea of using dried flowers I’ve never used them before! Now I have something to research ❤️👍🏾
Honestly, I'd want to open that door and enter a world from a wonderful fairy tale. 😁
Narnia!!! 😁
All your videos make me want to go and build some minis lol
Lovely project. I love this. 🤩
Beautiful cat - thank you for leaving him in the videos for us to see and also for all you share. 😊🙏💝💕
Cupboard space - mop and bucket! 😁
😂he won’t stay out of the vids even if I try! Thank you ❤️
@@missminilife Is AllBall named after the kitten that Koko the Gorilla had?? I loved telling my kids the story of Koko and AllBall. ♥️♥️
Also, I cannot get over how much AllBall looks like our sweet kitty, Oliver, whom we lost a couple of years ago. When he walked into view, my heart stopped❤❤. Oliver had green eyes. What color are AllBalls’ eyes?
Also, I don’t know how on EARTH I hadn’t heard of your channel before, but I recently found you and binge watched a bunch your videos and I am HOOKED!! Thank you for your AMAZING content!
Sry it took me a while to reply but thank you so much!! All Ball is named after Koko’s kitten and he also has green eyes! Well yellowish green! 😁 somehow Allball is a THE perfect name for him I love him so much 🥰
I love this library diorama. You did an amazing job. It feels so magical and I'm pretty sure the door actually leads to Narnia :D
Oooooooo!! A narnia wardrobe would be funnn … ideas ideas 😁
@@missminilife Narnia was my idea too! Just found your channel..a year after you did this so hubby and I will be binge-watching for sure. I'm afraid you've probably already done whatever you were going to do with this by now. P.S. Love the fact that you named your cat Allball...*insert super hearts here*
This is so elegant and utterly charming - amazing build!
Gorgeous! You've given me an idea to make a rolling ladder for the mini library I'm making.
Yay goo for it ! I love it! 🥰
I've been looking for a new way to do books, these look great. Also love the ability to move the ladder!
I was so proud of it! 😁💕
This looks wonderful! Maybe use your love of the book The Secret Garden and make the door open onto that hidden space. It ties in with the library and your love of books.
That’s such a good idea that I just over looked lol! But I also saw a comment about making the entire garden and I might be able to tie them together somehow 🤔 I’ve gotta sketch some things out 😁
What a lovely little diorama! I hope we all have our dream libraries one day. 🥰
TOTALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!!! I get side tracked with too many ideas as well!! BEAUTIFUL FINISH!!! I LOVE HOW YOU CLUSTERED THE BOOKS TOO!
👋🏾 Thank you!! It’s soo easy to just get carried away adding more and more stuff 😂!
I love the idea of a jar of mini books.
It would be cool if every time I finished a book a put one in as like a tracker or something! 😁
Firstly, this is awesome! There's so much detail - I especially like the labels on the shelves and the distress on the floor.
Secondly, you said that you're getting ready to need to make a whole bunch of doorknobs - are you familiar with Blue Stuff? You can also get it on Amazon marketed as a toy (called Oyumaru), but it's basically a thermoplastic that turns into a putty when heated up (~5 minutes in hot water), which can then be used to make quick molds for things. In this case, you could sculpt a doorknob, make a mold with the thermoplastic, and then cast it with some other sort of self curing material (I've used both milliput and Aves apoxie sculpt, just pressed into the mold). As an added bonus, whenever you're done with the mold you can just heat it up again to use for something else.
THATS SUUUUCHH A GOOD IDEA!! I have some oyumaru and I never even thought of that! Thank you this is gonna change some things 😁❤️
I love this build. I'd put a watercolour painting of the next room behind that door. Or maybe a garden.
I could put some of my Bob Ross mini paintings in there 🧐😁
@@missminilife Perfection!
Your kitty coming to bat at your tools was too cute. Loved the Secret Garden as a kid too!
The Secret Garden, was also one of my very first major stories I read around the third grade as well! I've read thousands of books since. Love that book!
That looks really great! Nice job. And I like the peaceful music
Oh, the detail; this is completely awesome! I live in my own home, and am super lucky that my husband was able to build bookshelves along one wall of a bedroom, so now I have a library. I've always wanted a ladder, too, but our rooms aren't that tall.
Details, details, who care if you can just reach the top! Get the ladder!!!
Ahhh!!! Sooo lucky! That’s so cool I’m jealous 😆😆🥰
I'm a librarian and I love making miniatures!! This is absolutely stunning. Amazing job, beautiful lady!
I'm glad to see a new video from you. And this diorama is so beautiful. I can almost smell the musky scent of old books. A hint of a garden behind the door would be lovely.
I loove that book smell I wish I could spray it around my apartment 😁🥰
@@missminilife I KNOW, right?!
Too cute ❤️❤️❤️❤️ reminded me of Arrietty movie. She would've loved to have this library too. She can use it as wardrobe and storing her tools too.
It does.. actually now I’m getting ideas for more builds thanks to this comment 😁👍🏾❤️
Great video! God bless!
Thank you God Bless!
This reminds me of my favorite little used bookstore in my home town. I don't know if it's still open, but it was just the absolute coziest place around when I was growing up.
Those are so nice! I try to support little stores like that so they don’t go out of business 😭
Such beautiful work! Again, your kitty is so cute.
Your Alice and Mermaid videos inspired me to put up a shelf ... then try my hand at a mini. Thanks for the inspiration. Your minis are magical.
I am so impressed that you went with making the rolling ladder! It's such a beautiful detail.
This looks great! Especially for being scratch made. I love it!
Hey 👋🏾 I love your videos and thank you 🥰
I would add an LED light or blinking fairy lights behind the door. If I walked by and saw flickering lights and saw it was coming from a tiny door, I'd be overjoyed.
I love how you made your doorknob! Very cool. This project turned out great
🧑🏽🎨 I LOVED IT! Thanks for sharing this great project with me.. you've inspired me to making something similar with my wife and kids, i wish i would of seen it early in the morning, that way i would of had time to make it today.. i will still make it next weekend tho..thank you😁
I’m glad it inspired some creativity! It would be such a fun kids project to have them make tiny versions of their favorite books!
This is lovely! I absolutely see it as a mix between the bookshop in Beauty and the Beast and the Secret Garden vibes (two of my favorite books/movies!)
What a joy watching you create this masterpiece! I love your spontaneity and laughed outloud with your use of the hand sanitizer! And yes, I signed up to support you on Patreon!
It’s AMAZING! I absolutely love it! Funny how you remember the first book you read being the Secret Garden, my first book “How To Eat Fried Worms”. LOL! I would put money, or special notes or pictures in the room behind the door. I love cats! Their little personalities are great. Yours is beautiful and mischievous. Thank you for the video.
Thank you! Ohhh you just unlocked the memory of how to eat fried worms 😂😂!!
A hidden secret garden behind the door?
love it thanks for sharing 🤩
this is just lovely. brava.
Thank you very much 🥰😁
I like that you showed the way you push a cat to let them know which space they are allowed to occupy. I think a lot of people don't know that, and either go way too hard or command the cat as they would a dog, which doesn't work as well because the cat doesn't have the same body language as a dog. And as for the pushing - if you just tell a person to do that, they might go too hard and hurt the kitty. The way it's done in this video is the right way to do it in general - not too hard, but clearly a push, like a clear message to let the cat know that this space is not for them to occupy.
Though I think it might be better to do it nearer the cat's chest or the side of their body, depending on which direction you want the cat to move, not on their legs since that might be more likely to provoke the cat to scratch or attack (though I get that legs might be a little easier to access from some positions, and that if you can't do the push precisely on the cat's chest, it's better to do it on the legs than to accidentally end up pushing your hand past their legs to their belly because cats don't like having their bellies touched and they would be more likely to be upset about having their bellies touched than their legs).
Good tip! He’s a good boy, he just hates that he can’t get inside the printer to all the hidden papers he imagines are moving around in there! 😂
This really is a cute little.model. made even more sweet with the music and ya little cat sat sniffing/watching. I'd have the space behind the door as a place told hold important jewelry with tiny hangers. Or even as a cupboard with a false back, leading to a cute whimsical diorama! Again, beautiful work x
Thank you! Ooooo I think a diorama leading into another diorama is a really cool idea! I'm going to have to play around wwith that concept that seems like it would be fun. 😁
You are beautiful. Your creations are epic. So far this is my favorite piece. I am addicted to libraries and all things books.
Use the metal from a tomato 🍅 paste tube for tiny metal things! I love💓 this mini. X ice cream🍦 sticks make great shelves too
Time to make some pasta! 😂
Wow! How fabulous. Well done.
Thank you 😊
I love how you create! The story you share as you work really draws me in. I'm so glad I came across your channel.
Great work! Love the ladder!
Thank you! I was actually falling asleep trying to do the voice over 😂😂😂
Your build and techniques are awesome and your narration and instructions are wonderful. Thank you for this video.
I LOVE watching you work! You are such a happy soul!
You are an amazing artist. I have a library but it will never compare to yours. I always wanted a rolling ladder, but it would never work in my room. Your precious kitty/supervisor matches your library.
So good to see All Ball again! Shelf is awesome 👌 & mini library super cool 😎
As a bibliophile I absolutely love this little library diorama, Loved the length of the vid, and I must say I Love your cat. :}
Ohhh good I was worried it was too long and people wouldn’t watch it 🥺! ❤️❤️❤️
Amazing! Great job. Your attention to detail and patience is incredible.
This is fantastic! Amazing!
Thank you 😊
Another awesome video! Love your handsome assistant too. Can't wait for the next one! Also yay on getting a drawing pad, they're so great.
I’ve been using my drawing pad on unnecessary things! it’s soo much fun! 😁
@@missminilife it changes everything! My husband got me the big one 2 years ago for my art. Its beyond everything I thought it could be. Its sometimes fun to just play around with it to see what you can do. I can't wait to see what you do!
Beautifully done as usual! For behind the door, I would make the area removable so you could swap out different dioramas such as scenes from other books (kinda similar to the Little Mermaid diorama).
My girlfriend is a naturally curious person. She just loves learning and finding things. I love her for that. Knowing that she’d try finding something in a miniature like this would influence me to put a really long love letter in there for her to find eventually. I’d start the letter off with something to the effect of “You finally found this…” idk something “cute” like that 😂
Changing things as you go....my hubby calls that over-enginering and I love doing it!😁
When the little ladder slid over....my day was made
Вы-- мой человек! Восхищение! И браво!
А ещё: Вы самая лучшая девочка на свете!
MML hmmm now I’d like to see the library of your dreams in completion!😆👍
Beautiful! I am pretty sure I need a full sized version of that in my home!
I really enjoyed watching that. Thank you for sharing. so many wonderful ideas.
I have the same tweezers! But pink! Love finding miniature channels! Happy that the algorithm lead me to you! ❤️❤️❤️✨
Such an amazing and beautiful project! You are so creative and such a joy to watch, thank you for a great video.
Какая же вы красивая♡
Работа великолепна!
Very nice, turned out great
It's been quite a while since I last saw one of your videos, but this was definitely worth the wait. I love libraries and the amazing detail you incorporated into this diorama is absolutely wonderful. Keep up the inspiring work!
Thank you!! I missed making videos for a while but now I have lots to film so I’m glad to be back!
Behind that door il n that magical mini library should be a painting of the universe...
Awesome Work!!!
please do the secret garden itself next
I soo down! I love making little flowers.
I completely relate to getting an idea and not being able to let go of it! This turned out so well :)
So beautiful 🥰
Thank you! Welcome back 🥰
@@missminilife hope you had a lovely new years💕🎉
I would put little hand made mini full books that are collectable...ie Alice in wonderland etc. As though the cupboard is hiding valuable books. Definitely making this. Love it.
Fabulous handy work! I love how u made the books,& the crown molding details! I also think the Rub n Buff is a cool idea for metal details, so I got a couple colors from Amazon,& it work’s amazingly! I also use Testors model paint for metal too, & it works good as well! Interestingly- they both r flammable, which is a bit alarming lol.. thank u for the suggestion!
The door can only lead to one place... A secret garden! Just subscribed yesterday and we love your craft and artistic talent. You are truly an inspiration to me who is someone adding to his own humble skills! Thanks so much for sharing!
Dafydd & Ann
Thank you guys for watching and subscribing! I love hearing that! I’m so glad you enjoy the channel and it’s helping give inspiration for more crafting! 🥰😁
lovely little model, lovely video and lovely cat!! kindest regards, k
It's so cute! I would use it to store Business cards
I’d feel so top tier pulling out a pile of business cards from a minimum closet 😁😁😁
Outstanding job young lady.
It's a lovely little build.
I'd be a bit odd and probably make a little figure of a surprised ghost behind the door.
Or maybe a figure of the main character from The Secret Garden.
This is amazing, you are so talented.
Thank you! ❤️
So intricate! Looks amazing!
Hi 👋🏾 thank you Ed!!
so cool that is functional as well :) nice job!
Thank you ❤️
Wow, that's Beautiful!
Incredible masterpiece. :)
Thank you soo much!
