I was reccomended this book when I came out as trans-masc by some of my other feminist freinds, I've not been able to find an accessible way to partake in it till now. It's really enlightenin to hear all of this layed out so precisely and clearly and in such a compelling manner. I'll be sharin this with my friends Thank you for doin this :]
And I appreciate the content warnins in the description!

You are are exactly who I am reading this for!! it's for all of us looking to hold the pen and write our own stories. I'm nonbinary and transfemme and the stories of recuperating masculinities aren't mine, (it was going to be a one off to be honest) but I'm still going because it is helpful to folks

im late as fuck, but im in a similar boat! i've wanted to read them for a long time but I have adhd and find it hard to focus on reading so accessible audiobooks are great. So far i haven't learnt much that i didn't already know through listening to other activists like hooks, but it's good to see what the source for a lot of that theory has to say.

I’m listening to this book at work trying not to cry with how this brings back memories of my own patriarchal indoctrination and my relationship with my father brothers and even my sister mother and women in my life. It’s painful it dells like an open sore on the psyche.

Aw buddy I'm so sorry, it really does suck but feeling the grief of that and what was taken away or put on you can lead to healing and finding the spaces you do want to feel into. Hugs and solidarity 🫂

Solidarity, I want to record something too that speaks to the ways socialized male fails us as a narrative. A lot of policing and not at home and wounded in ways that were confusing and closeting and not boyhood. Passing is invisibility not necessarily truth.
