To be super fair, those comfy holey t-shirts were once mine. But I don’t think I have the stupidity to try and reclaim them. Besides, she looks better in them than I do! 🥰
Yayyyyyyy this makes me feel so normal. I go out into my backyard and feed birds and garden in my nightgown. I have 6’ fences & the back is to wild land.
Oh save your knees and get a cardboard folding cutting matt. I bet you can find one at a vintage store. That way you can place it on a bed to cut and only ruin your back instead of your knees. That turned out really cute. Wish we could still just walk into JoAnn's and find fabric like that for this type project. I want to make one of those vintage style nightgowns where you have a tie at the waist that goes through the side seams to exclude the back and you get that elegant whoosh of fabric in the back. One of these days. Now I've got to be on the lookout for this pattern. Thank you for going to all the trouble of filming this!
"Aha you got this project done in one day. Now do it again while two children are screaming at you the whole time and a third insists on squeezing between you and the sewing machine during topstitching."
Love it! 🤩👍....I've seen Jen's @VintageVanity & Bianca's @TheClosetHistorian and they were also Super cute and fun! Now I'm on to see the rest! Loved this collab!🙌
I am binging on your content while (or whilst) mending/soaking/restoring vintage garments from our costume room. I love your videos! I know I am late to the party but had to let you know.
Cute nightgown but I totally agree about the ultra soft worn T-shirt for sleeping in. But for a family vacation where you want to be a little more covered that would fit the bill perfectly
I love to see your videos! Thank goodness your busy life allows you SOME time to make them. This gown is so cute! Maybe you can wear it sometimes for breakfast.
Recently made a shift from poly cotton that feels like cotton. And, if I was someone who wore nightgowns, it would definitely be a great nightgown. Loved this! It looks amazing 🤩
this is beyond adorable! My Valentine's Day plans are mostly praying for death and the 15th because I work in a flower shop. We're on insane overtime to get everything done and yesterday was 13 hours which is why I'm watching this today (after taking an accidental nap after getting home). Totally worth the wait
I love vintage anything and have seen this pattern. I knew you could increase size but hadn’t done it. I feel confident I could adjust as you did for bust and now have to get this pattern. I think it turned out darling! I love the lace you chose. I just subscribed and look forward to your other videos.
It's super cute, Stephanie! I am not making anything for st valentine's/galentines day this year. I'm saving up my sewjo madness for matchy family Easter vests/ties/and little girl dress. I'm gonna need all the good vibes sent my way, it'll be my biggest project to date😬
Loved the photoshopped part in the beginning, too good! Also I adore this gown and the *for legal purposes this is a joke* text had me dying. This nightgown turned out so cute!
Itchy 90s, itchy 80s, itchy 70s. Who were these humans who didn't care if the world was miserable? Did NONE of them wear these things? Were they just MONSTERS? Very cute. Even my mother agrees about sleeping in ratty t-shirts.
Also, I have several patterns that came from a costumer for plays, etc. They are cut in odd places, torn, etc, in general poor condition. They arrived in manilla envelopes with the pattern envelope cut in half and taped to the front. Should these pattern pieces be taped with archival tape to stabilize them for future use?
How cute! I really need to make some vintage lounge wear for comfy hanging around the house days. This year, I made a cute 1940s dress to wear to Universal Studios for Valentine’s Day. I’m not big on a lot of the traditional Valentine’s things so new outfit + place to wear said new outfit is much more my speed.
As a fellow mom who has way too many things to do and not enough hours, I appreciate the acknowledgement that if you could, you would have been able to do it in one day but instead it took more. I made a similar nightgown a year (or two? What is time??). And while it's comfy (and chaotic because I used a bunch of scrap quilting cottons) I don't wear it frequently because I'm team old tshirt too.
I need a apple watch just to have Minnie and Mickey as my watch face! I could also find my phone when I am home alone and there is no one here to call it so I can find it.
I think that nightgown turned out really pretty and it’s nowhere near the time that you made it and I was wondering if you ever did wear it to bed because you look really pretty in it. I absolutely see it as a great Sunday morning outfit too because then you look nice when you’re making pancakes (assuming that you ever make pancakes)
Your nightgown turned out so cute! This is very motivating for me to make a new nightgown of my own. My birthday is 4 days after Valentines Day so my husband and I usually just do a big something over the weekend to celebrate both. And he always spoils me with the best presents!
So cute 😍 I loved this idea so much, I've been following you, Bianca, Jennifer and Liz for ageeees and it's so cool to see all your projects ❤🥰, now subscribed that 5th one too
Such a pretty little light weight summery house dress, perfect for those days when the heat is on and you don't really want to have anything that touches your skin but ya cain't be nakey... ;)
Make a 4X8’ ft. Cutting table that you can cut in two parts so you can attach them to each other and to the wall with hinges. Even the legs r attached with hinges and bend attached to the table that are attached hinges on the wall. It sounds way more complicated then it is. They make them a-lot for tiny homes. They even have company in Japan & Korea that make furniture that transform . Search on TH-cam
“Oh F##$” yes! Yes! Exactly what I would say! But love the upsizing tips! Love this collaboration! Had the same scratchy lace nightgown patterns in 1959!!
Simplicity 9877 pajama pattern has the same type of scooped yoke. The copyright says 1980 but I remember making this pattern many years before that. Wish I could show a picture. Much to small for me now. Miss size 10-12, bust 32 1/2 - 34.
I'm going to stay out of the grocery stores for 3 days after Valentines day! Unless we run out of bananas. I know! I'll just send hubby! LOL And only give him $4.
I gave up on facings , I cut out bias tape the width needed that’s if I have enough material if not find a coordinating piece ! I’m a tad bigger than you wear about 18-20 in pj bottoms , don’t like anything bulky , least of all in tops ! The bias facing remedy comes in a lot of store bought clothes , whose gonna know your wearing a 1950 gown with bias tape , only you & your hubby !
Is there a video on how you grade up/adjust your patterns? i’d love to see. i’ve lost 180 lbs but i’m still a 24 pattern size and most of my vintage patterns are a 12-16 :/
Except Dollar general they don't mark down anything down not even a week after the event because I've been the store after the holidays and not even a markdown section.
THIS IS REALLY NICE AND THE LACE LOOKS AWESOME !!!
To be super fair, those comfy holey t-shirts were once mine. But I don’t think I have the stupidity to try and reclaim them. Besides, she looks better in them than I do! 🥰
I love you, Stephanie Canada. You are loved!
Wearing holey t-shirts to bed is very logical environmentally sustainable practice.
I love your necklace. Beautiful.
As someone who likes wearing nightgowns all day inside the house, this looks super cute and very comfy to waddle around in.
Yayyyyyyy this makes me feel so normal. I go out into my backyard and feed birds and garden in my nightgown. I have 6’ fences & the back is to wild land.
@@glomontero6011Yay, wilding!

I actually ended up getting a table and cutting mat at an estate sale a little while back. 😁
I’m amazed you can work on the floor!!! Your my hero.
It is a struggle some days, but still doable (for now)
I love that necklace
Ok, you and Rachel Maksy need, need, need a cutting table. Get that hubby on that!
What's sad is I have one now, but it was too small for this project.
Hahaha I feel this too! I have a cutting table but it’s still too small for so many poofy vintage patterns 😛
I think it's cute
That's really cute! And gives me .... ideas... heh heh heh...
I love your marvel t-shirt
yes... yes we do all pin our things like floor trolls.... meanwhile the tombstone bat earings are everything!
Success! Also reconfirms why I haven’t sewn clothing in uh….25+ years! Haha
"Aha you got this project done in one day. Now do it again while two children are screaming at you the whole time and a third insists on squeezing between you and the sewing machine during topstitching."
Yikes! Glad I only have to contend with one cat who is very attracted to my lap when there’s a sewing machine involved.
LOL. Thoroughly enjoyed your entertaining video. I though I was the only one to wear pajamas down to their last thread! Feeling much better now :)
You are awesome! So cute. Just found your videos. They have made my pandemic.
Make sure you check out all the other channels that are participating in this fun #loungeuary adventure!!
Ahhh! It turned out really good! And I absolutely love your necklace at 4:50!
I love how you always think you will be done in a day 😉
It turned out very cute!
Your channel is real and wonderful and funny.Thank you.
Love it! 🤩👍....I've seen Jen's @VintageVanity & Bianca's @TheClosetHistorian and they were also Super cute and fun! Now I'm on to see the rest! Loved this collab!🙌
FUN! Jen really had such a fantastic idea! I am glad you enjoyed my take on it.
lol love the reveal😂😂
It's so cute with the bow!!
Those type of nightgowns are my absolute favorite summer loungewear
Good dear.. love it!
Just darling! I would wear it all the time.
It’s so nice ❤❤❤❤
Love ❤ it !! Perfect fabric !!
Luv that fabric!
Love your videos!
So sweet!
Ooooh, like it!
Thank you! It is very flowy.
I am binging on your content while (or whilst) mending/soaking/restoring vintage garments from our costume room. I love your videos! I know I am late to the party but had to let you know.
Thank you so much Susan!
I wish I had that pattern love the night gown.
Cute nightgown but I totally agree about the ultra soft worn T-shirt for sleeping in. But for a family vacation where you want to be a little more covered that would fit the bill perfectly
Cute!
What a lovely nightgown
Great make. Perfect fabric and trim choice. A real Mrs. Maisel moment. Try another one and actually sleep in it. I bet you would love it.
Love it!
Thank you!
very nice. Would make a nice Florida summer dress.
Stephanie you brightened my day!
Very cute vintage nighty! Glad you were able to make the small pattern work while cutting it out.
I’m so glad I found your Happy Videos! So good to laugh and watch great sewing projects!!
I love to see your videos! Thank goodness your busy life allows you SOME time to make them.
This gown is so cute! Maybe you can wear it sometimes for breakfast.
You are funny! Best wishes from Uk.
Recently made a shift from poly cotton that feels like cotton. And, if I was someone who wore nightgowns, it would definitely be a great nightgown. Loved this! It looks amazing 🤩
Right! I will probably wear it around the house mostly, not really for bed.
Yay! Your back! Not sure if I've been gone or you've been gone..but hey..youre back! Super cute nighty..would have taken me two weeks!🤣🤣🤣
Love your gown! I am like you I love the look of pretty sleepwear but I prefer to sleep in a holey tee shirt. Hugs!
this is beyond adorable! My Valentine's Day plans are mostly praying for death and the 15th because I work in a flower shop. We're on insane overtime to get everything done and yesterday was 13 hours which is why I'm watching this today (after taking an accidental nap after getting home). Totally worth the wait
Super cute! I'm not sewing anything for valentine's day. I was thinking about sewing shorts for the family vacay.
It’s gorgeous on you! I especially like it with the belt! It looks really comfy! 💕 Happy Galentine’s Day!
I love vintage anything and have seen this pattern. I knew you could increase size but hadn’t done it. I feel confident I could adjust as you did for bust and now have to get this pattern. Stephanie, this came out sooooo good!!

Thank you! And ALL THE GOOD SEWJO to you Jessie! Easter outfits aren't my jam (insert another terrible itchy 90's dress memory).
Someone I love gave me 5 yards of gorgeous undyed linen. I'm hoping it's not itchy 😃
Cute! I'd make the jacket so I could walk around the house in PJs and not be braless in a thin (cooler) fabric.
This is one of the wonderful videos I watched ... thanks for the share! a fellow creator .. subbed !!!==
AHAHAHA THE REVEAL VOICEOVER I LOVE YOU
You upsizing patterns always amazes me honestly it’s the thing that makes me most impressed with you sewing. Plus this fabric is so pretty xx
I love the way it turned out. 💖 you look so pretty.
It's adorable though
This turned out so cute and don't worry I won't tell them where you hid the body 💀
Just me and you Jen.
And thanks again for the idea on the collab!
Loved the photoshopped part in the beginning, too good! Also I adore this gown and the *for legal purposes this is a joke* text had me dying. This nightgown turned out so cute!
Just great as usual.
Thank you so much!
I made this in 1968! It took forever to take out the racking stitches.... Stephanies ' has some cotton in it - much better.
Birdy
Ohhh, if I tinkered with the yoke that would be a lovely house dress. Super swishy fabric so I can do random twirls lol. Thank you for sharing.
For the record I'm pinning a button down shirt pattern like that right now

Aww! Welcome! I am so happy to have you here!
Love your videos. Would love to see how you check patterns and prepare them for your listings. I'd like to store my patterns in the best way possible.

This came out super cute! Also i love your coffin earrings you wear at 7:50!!! So adorable

You need a table darling! Although I got knee pads, I just cannot handle cutting on the floor anymore….thanks aging! ☺️
Happy Bichon! Thank you! She's adorable as always.
Great fabric, bow lace, belt/ribbon/tie, style however the pathos on your reveal photo stole the show.
Dude, the ADHD in me sees and appreciates the ADHD in you 😆 This was a delight to watch!

This yoke style was very popular for quite some time, for sure.
Oh, gosh! I'm the same. I mean, I do adore lovely silk pyjamas, but I also feel more comfortable sleeping in ratty T-shirts.
Love cotton nighties that are loose. Love cotton Looking for Eileen west type patterns
I'm going to stay out of the grocery stores for 3 days after Valentines day! Unless we run out of bananas. I know! I'll just send hubby! LOL And only give him $4.
I now will be adding this nighty to my list of things to make 🤦🏼♀️ I need to win the lottery so I can quit working & sew aaallllll DAY!

I love your button necklace. Is it your creation?
Whadaya mean? Yes, of course, everyone gets out their big cardboard accordion thingy and pins/cuts out patterns like that in front of the TV.
Except Dollar general they don't mark down anything down not even a week after the event because I've been the store after the holidays and not even a markdown section.
Oh interesting…
@@StephanieCanada Yeah that why no one goes there much.
I pin my stuff like that... Except on the hard tile kitchen floor... Ow 😭
Do you use pinking shears to cut out your patterns? I have thought about doing that myself, I just wasn't sure how it would work out.
Lace can hide a multitude of sewing sins!
