    There is a channel that reviews health monitors. This was the common trend that was found: Any optical heart rate sensor that is placed on the wrist will have a problem getting a heart rate reading when it's an activity that involves movement or when the muscles around the wrist move. The band/watches would usually record below dedicated HR monitors. The best performer on reading heart rate is the apple watch and is quite accurate even when exposed to activities that should make the sensor fail. The second best performer is the Huawei run watch. The good thing is that there is a heart rate monitor that's not on the chest and they're placed on the upper arm and with the accuracy of the chest monitors. I forgot what the brand is because I'm only eyeing on wrist wearable health monitors.

    That's what I'm using right now. Cheaper than the Garmin and Bryton HR Monitors. I'm using the Magene Speed and Cadence Sensors too.

      Nice. I wonder if there is a difference between these and the more expensive monitors.

    thank you for this video!!! i was just wondering if i should buy a watch in addition to my chest strap, so i'm in the opposite place of you 😄 i think i will because that way i can also have HR even on commutes

      hahah ya i find the watch very convenient. For most of my rides, I still don't bother with the chest HR monitor. But for when it becomes important, I will strap it on

    I have a question bai. Is that a garmin vivoactive 3 watch? If yes, has the battery life gone down after the recent update? Thanks.

      Yup! Uhm.... im not sure. I don't really keep track of the battery life. I just charge it when I need to. I haven't noticed any difference

      @carlovillarica  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@khaelquinain4224 usually a few days. But I don't have a good gauge kay I use it a lot to broadcast my HR to my head unit. When I use it on rides, the battery life is significantly less.

    this is useful. Are cheaper ones worth buying tho? Garmin is way out of my budget. As someone that has issues with heart arrythmia i really should wear one just to monitor when my heart does a crazy jazz drummer impersonation in my chest....

      The cheaper HR monitors, TBH, I don't know. I've only tried cheaper ones because the Garmin one is expensive

    Can you compare both heart rate monitors in your zone 2 trainings? I feel like the wrist reads lower heart rates. Thanks

      @carlovillarica  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll try that. I'll see if there are any variations in terms of how im feeling. If it's big, I might do a comparison

      @@carlovillarica yes please because for me, I have a Xiaomi Band 4 that has a heart rate monitor but I swear my heart rate with the Mi Band is so much lower than the chest heart rate monitor. they have the same reading when I'm relaxing or doing some light work but when cycling, there's a huge difference. I dont know maybe because these two are just one of the cheap kinds.
