My favourite part is how Terrorblade is actually a passionate antihero, rather than just generic bad guy. He despises and actively gets rid off power-hungry monsters like Selemene. His plan is probably to get powerful enough to defeat tyrants like Doom, Pugna, Ostarion, Abbadon (or at least his parasitic mist), Vrogros and many others. It really fits well into his in-game personality and adds an extra level of deatil exclusively for the players.
Note this mirrors his personality in the game, as he essentially despises the characters that feign being good while doing evil things (Omniknight, Chen) instead of being true to themselves.

this show was such a pleasant surprise, I had no expectations and immediately fell in love with it :) they have done a great job with the characters, getting you invested right away, its intriguing, visually very good, it feels like classic old fantasy with its variety and mystique, the tone of it, they give you what you need but certain things remain shrouded, you dont need to know every single detail, not everything needs to be perfectly explained and fed to you, the mystery aspect is there and its letting you use your fantasy too, they got the balance perfectly, there is a lot of quality here and a lot to love, really hope they continue since with the way Book 3 ended there is definitely more to see :)
Finally, someone loves this series too - so many great characters, their relationships with each other are so intense. And all the true, limitless fantasy flavour is cool factor I just love. Lina and Mirana are Misato tier of waifus tho, I would die for them

Also the new lore needs to explain how the hell the twin-head dragons work now. *Rubick:* Invoker's greatest rival, he is also the only hero besides Invoker who holds a special magus title, Rubick is the Grand Magus, Invoker is the Arsenal Magus. Although Invoker's title may be revoked, as Rubick can say "Invoker now, eh? No longer the Arsenal Magus?" after meeting him. Also Rubick is the most mysterious character in the game, so there is a lot of free space to work with. *Shadow Demon:* Shadow Demon has the most chances of being involved in the story to represent the demons Terrorblade is fighting against, he is deeply interested in the normal world, while other demons mostly work within their dimesions, the first paragraph of his lore page makes this very clear. *Aiushtha, the Enchantress:* Terrorblade can say "I'm every demon's worst nightmare, but I'm your best friend." after meeting her. She is the most "lawful good" character out of all, I guess she can represent the idea that Terrorblade is not as bad as many watchers and in-lore characters think he is. *Pugna:* No real reason, I just want to know why the hell he is the the smartest character according to game mechanics (5.2 INT per level), with Invoker being on the second place (4.6 INT per level) despite Terrorblade calling him the smartest living creature, capable of looking through universes with the power of his mind, while Pugna is just an angry green skeleton.
Loved this show start to finish as a big Dota 2 fan. The only crimes are that two characters I love playing in the game were on screen for two seconds a piece. Shoutout to my Axe and Tiny mains
I've watched it twice cant wait for book 3. pays homage to berserk and transformers with star scream dragon. great writing overall complex mysterious story
I also have a lot of passion for the show like you, if only it was a bigger project with more budget and that would allow for better pacing and such but I’m happy with what we got Book 3 is VERY likely but past that I’m not sure we would see anything else
I usually watch anime, but recently ive been more fond of the arstyle of Studio Mir. I never played the games but im suprised on how good it was despite the shit some Dota players give this series. The animation was quite decent, but there are few scenes where it really takes your breath but its decent overall. The dialogue is one of my favorite ones ive heard so far and quite a fresh breath of air after watching anime where the dialogue is a lot of times...not really human. The VAs were very nicely picked and i even love that one faction in there had a different for example only irish VAs which was a very nice touch. The weird thing however (which can be seen as a nitpick) is that sometimes the characters were crying but the VAs didnt make it sound like it or even the oppisite. And there were scenes where some characters said some very emotional things without looking remotely sad for example. (And the noses look weird) But id give it a 6 out of 10. Pretty decent overall but it just lacks the "mph" this series couldve had imo
Hmm... i see what you mean. It does kinda have this generic feel at some moments but overall i think the narrative is quite engaging. The VA is good at times but I totally understand where your coming from regarding the "crying" parts
@@Raytobe yeah, i dont have any problem with the narrative or anything. Its just sometimes the fight scenes where i expetced more. One good thing i forgot to mention was that the gore was also balanced out. Not over the top, but also not off screen gore aswell. They hit quite a decent level.

yeah the pacing was a real noticable issue, it felt like a lot shoved into 8 episodes but hey, overall pretty solid. I plan on playing Dota early next week for sure.

That's just not true. That's what you want to be true. The dota anime is its own universe. It has it's own rules and it's own lore. Just because heroes respawn in the game, it doesn't mean they will in the anime. Lots of things happen in the anime that don't in the game, for example, many heroes are more powerful than in the game. It wouldn't make any sense for it to happen in the anime. And studio Mir wouldn't let that happen. The dota universe is a multiverse. The game and the anime do not overlap in a lot of ways. But keep dreaming I guess.

@@sezerturlu It is escapable. But then you'll have Visage and his familiar sentries on your ass for the time you're back in the mortal world until he rips you away and plops you back in the maze. So even if that was a plot point, it would still have a sense of urgency and impermanence.
