Great build again. When I was 16 in 1976 4 of my friends all had first gen camaros two were convertibles and one a 69 pace car. What a great time for me!
That’s very cool. I had a guy in my neighborhood that had 4 or 5, 69 Camaros. One was also a Pace Car! I never walked up to him at the time. Met him years later after he sold all of them. We were talking cars and he mentioned what he had. I asked if he lived on a certain street. He did and I was a paperboy but didn’t have his street but the station was my house. So his paperboy was stationed at my house. He said I should have stopped and talked. He loved to show off his cars at the time as most of us do!
I bought an RS with the flippy headlights, nose stripe, and a 327 w/Powerglide for 400 bucks. It ran like crap. I pulled the valve covers, put on some rocker clips, and ran the valve adjustment whilst running. Bingo! Smooth move, literally. Sold it three days later for 800 bucks!
Very cool! How long ago was that? My dad told me about a 59 Thunderbird conv he bought for $100. Washed it and someone offered him $125 and he sold it. I think he said that was mid to late 60s when he did that.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I'm gonna say right about 1975. A few years later I picked up a '72 Gran Torino with a "dead cylinder" for $300 from the harbor master at the old Santa Monica Pier. He was told the engine was junk. Spark plug wire/boot sitting on the exhaust heat shield. As simple as these cars are, it's amazing how little people know about them. As I sit here, I recall how much better that chassis handled than the earlier leaf spring Torinos. Right now I have a '72 Gran Tor with a factory 429 ThunderJet, and a '73 Montego GT with the same engine.
Hello there Raoul. That's a great and fine build, I like it! I know the feeling when you have to begin from zero, I've had that experience already but the thing is to keep enjoying and learning from that experiences. Keep up the great job! Blessings!
Beautiful as usual Raoul! I like the red line and white wall decals, they work great for me and I wish more kits had them in the decal sheet. Never build this kit but it looks like Revell did a bang up job on it.
The Camaro came in 3 models. The base coupe/convertible with a 230 cid straight 6 up to the 396 with the power glide, 3 speed manual and 3 different 4 speeds an M20 wide ratio, M21 close ratio and the M22 "Rock Crusher" close ratio, the SS as a coupe or convertible with a 350 or 396 with the same transmissions and the Z/28 which came only as a couple and only with the 4 speed manual. The Rally Sport could be added to any car. Actually the first car I wanted to buy when I got my license was a Butternut Yellow with Black vinyl top.
You could not get a 350 or a 396 in a base Camaro. Only the SS. The only automatic behind the 396 (325 HP version) was the TH400. The 375HP was 4 speed only!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler my mistake, I believe the only V8 in the base was the 327. It's been awhile since I did that research. Most was from memory back then.
I totally understand. I do the same thing and try to refresh my memory on the details. I mix them up also. So easy to do but when I do, boy do I get called out on it sometimes.
You not only research the actual full size cars, but you also give us info on the models. I have a question about 1967 Camaro kits. Which kits come with the deluxe interior? I'm building the '67 Indy Pace Car and I need the interior. I know you can help me. Many thanks and keep up your excellent work!
If you don't have one already. You should find a Revell 67 Nickey Camaro. It is an RS and has the deluxe interior. They have become hard to find and people are asking and getting some good money for them.
Hi, I'm new to your channel. I subscribed loved your video's on this build. I'm looking for the same decals that came with this kit. I had a 67 Camaro and I want to build it up like the one I had and it had the white wrap around stripes. Is there anyone who you can put me in touch with that might be willing to sell me a set? I haven't watched all of the video's on this build yet, but did you cover how you stripped it, after the paint mishap? Kindest regards Mark
Thanks Mark. I used Super Clean to strip it and have an older video on doing just that so I didn’t film that portion. I will be doing another video on that though since Super Clean did contact me and send me some products to feature on the channel.
Fantastic looking 67 Camaro Raoul. Ron
Thanks!
Your Revell '67 Camaro SS 396 is sharp looking Raoul and as always thanks for posting your video(s) too!
Glad you like them!
I'm a Ford guy but have always loved the 67 and 68 Camaro styling. Nice Build!!! Well Done Raoul!!!!
Thank you!
It’s a great kit, and we all knew you’d knock it outta the park Raoul!
Thank you! And thanks again for your help!
Love that car. Thanks for sharing Raouel. Happy days and model on! 😎🇨🇦
Thanks, you too!

I remember the challenge you had with this originally re the paintwork. Glad you overcame that; it's come out very nicely.
Thank you! Just have to keep moving forward if you want to finish it!

It came out really really nice, my friend, looks 1:1, it was well worth all the extra effort, nicely done 😁✌️
Thank you!
Looks awesome especially with all of the issues you had with it... Inspires me not to give up my builds either when issues arise ..
Thank you! Just about every build has an issue. Very rarely do I have a build go without issues.
Really nice build Raul, came out great, always loved the 1st gen Camaros, I had a 68 and a couple of 69s back in the 80s, great cars!
Very cool! Thanks!
Very nice build and great information 🤙🏼
Thanks! 👍
