Man, I hate it when someone who means well but doesn't know anything about the lance says that it just needs more damage. Attack speed, precision, attack rhythm (3s), combo strings (Guard Advance has a different button input depending on which combo string you are using, really?!? WHY?), etc.

I felt that in world it felt so bad using a gs true charge sometimes and the monster would move and hit me before the hit stun was over. Glad it doesn't look as long in most cases
I found the hit stop fine before. It made sense to me. Like hit stop should only be affected by how weak or touch the monster is. Idk, this would be a cool thing. Maybe tougher areas of the monster you get more hitstop and weaker parts of the monster your slicing weapon will slice through easier without as much hitstop to signify weaker spot been hit
If the Devs want a good, profound Story & Narrative in MonHun then let em have it I say ! If they manage to pull it off then it's awesome ! SnS needed more than a damage bump. In no uncertain terms, Sword & Shield was a bit of a mess in the Beta. There was some control silliness on the same level as the insect glaive, but most people didn't notice or take time to think about it. The ability to change a backhop's direction from a roll was removed. Presumably because focus mode exists. The problem is that the window to input the backhop from a roll is extremely short, and it's unfeasible to ask a player to make an input that requires both sticks a trigger and a button press with a camera that doesn't move fast enough even on its fastest setting. It's up there with the insect glaive controls debacle. There were a few other things about SnS that needed fixing that were at or almost on that level. The most glaring example to me was the transition between a Roundslash or Spinning Reaper into a backhop. There's a possibility that it could be a side-effect of the lack of hit stop, but it felt TERRIBLE. I had to mash it out to get a backhop after Roundslashes or Spinning Reapers, and it felt more like a link than a cancel. I've been exclusive to Sword & Shield for a long time, so I noticed things like that, and complained about them in the survey. Heck, I wrote a whole blasted video essay about the changes in the Wilds Beta, but it looks like I'll have to wait to see what they do and don't fix - hopefully, they'll fix everything so that I don't have to edit together and release a video essay.
Love to see them making changes on the move set like the insect glaive. Only main thing I really wish they would change before the launch is the longsword helmbreaker. It feels really weird and I wish you had more air time.
The open beta was insanely good in my opinion. I am having a high end pc so I didn't have performance issues at all But this version looks even better. I can't wait for the full game Also all the changes due to players feedback shows how much they actually respect the players
0:33 so Uth Duna *does* have a long tail; it's just very slim, and invisible (except for the base) when the veils are active. i guess it's the second breathless monster that i like, along with Nargacuga.
Loving all the changes, but really sad about not being able to launch players into the air with hammer and other weapons. It was always a fun thing to do with friends and it was a cool way to interact with other player's characters. It will be sorely missed...
The way NO ONE believed me when I told kinsect users to keep complaining so that the devs get there feedback. Everyone said it would never get changed and look how wrong they were.
I’m glad they’re breaking away from the previous formula story wise, I’ve played World /Iceborne and currently playing through Rise/Sunbreak and though both games are different in a lot of ways, how the story plays out is very similar. It boils down to “oh no, the monsters are acting strange around here. HUNTER go out there and take care of this at once!”. Though I don’t doubt Wilds story will have that, we’re hunters after all I do like that it’s more story driven and it’s apparent from the trailers we’ve seen and even getting our hands on the beta.
I’ve heard a lot of people say that there’s mixed feelings on the fact that there’s more of a story now. I understand that people don’t go to monster Hunter for the story. But what downside could they possibly be from having a story? The lack of story is one of the things that’s kept me away. I’m so curious on how a story can be a bad thing. I’ve played games with bad stories and been disappointed, but I don’t think the story not existing would have made me enjoy it more.
hmmm maybe Arkveld could be the only elder dragon in base wilds and then the iceborne esque expansion is a crazy huge elder dragon tropical island with lots of dangerous returning monsters but then it has a volcano which erupts and transforms the island into a crystallised volcanic hellscape in which numerous elder dragons reside. Revealing the expansion flagship, a few more new ones, and plenty of returning (nergigante pls)
I wonder what will happen to SnS, I think it was excellent in the beta! Maybe they will give me drill slash back! Please! It’s my favorite style of SnS!
I REALLY dont think they would skip put on elders entirely, is simply makes no sense to abandon an entire established class of monster. Plus with how iconic to MH elders are I see no reason to leave then behind. Definitely want a refocusing away from them, but not a lack of them entirely
I hope they go over gunlance too. We only had Normal shelling in the beta and the new playstyle seems to focus on that. I hope Wide and Long are still viable.
Elders were the focus in World, for the entire story, them focusing on them less than that doesn't meant we won't have them. it just means less focus in the plot and game in general, comparatively. Maybe they're there but not super important to the story or after the non elder final boss we will get them as post story. We use to have post story normal elders in some older games. I bet mighty charge will have lot of hit stop on hammer. It is the better wake up attack and should stay that way. The reason is that it's harder to hit. Focus mode make hitting TCS a joke but focus won't doesn't help might charge at all. The issue is not the angle but getting the distance right, so you don't hit a monster with the spin first, requiring a lot more skill. Yeah, IG easily had the worst controls in the beta, no contest. Just let us use R3 to toggle focus mode, problem solved. The bounce being back in this version is awesome. Hopefully it's a viable play style. Even if it's World 2 IG, where it's the only way to do less damage than lance, I'll still have fun with it. The Games Radar video was pretty great. Never heard discussion of too much hit stop in World, that's odd. Makes it weirder when you consider how much hit stop lance had in the Wilds beta. Lance was the worst weapon in the beta, of the ones I play more so like out of 9 of them for power fantasy, IG was second worst and that was mostly its controls. The bounce is back too so more points for IG. Sad because lance was my first main. It taking on all the hit lag was hellish for the lance weapon fantasy. The point is to have the smallest openings, as you can smoothly flow between attacking and guarding, letting you use the tiniest openings most weapon just can't without getting hit. The beta's hit lag made that nonexistent and the forced counter in the heavy attack combo felt so awkward. Hammer and SA were my favorites. Only critique for SA was full release doing so much damage and the rest falling too far behind. It being the damage option for charged sword, and ZSD being a defensive option to do less but still high damage, with damage mitigation as you attach, is great utility. This makes you really think about how you will use amped state up time.
@@godly_potatoe69xd19I am assuming the apex hunts will occur around the 3rd or 4th biome, in World, we CAN fight Rathalos and Diablos but we only forced to fight an apex predator when we reach the Coral Highlands, where we fight Legiana Maybe we backtrack to fight the Windward Plains apex and the Scarlet Forest apex after we reach a certain portion of the story
The charge blade is the best its ever been in wilds. I love not being able to spam SAED and love that you have to do things to get to SA. We are not shafted.
@@JeannieLovesame here. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen a Hunter get sent flying after a SAED. AED is faster and can create a safe opening for SAED.
The comments for the actual VGC video just roast's the player on LS...it's so bad 😅 CB ain't getting changes with the AED, SAED and Savage Axe situation?
I would say with my tinfoil hat on that the reason on why you repelled the Uth Duna is so that the white wraith can kill her. The reason is because in the trailer with the beta announcement, the White wraith was holding a Uth Duna which maybe be the one you repelled.
The tune up sounds amazing. The balancing looks amazing. They still haven't fixed the washy-wash of the game, it looks like you are playing within a cloud and everything looks permanently sad. I hope they fix it too.
I don't mind them trying to make a good story.... As long as it isn't intrusive and doesn't take up extra resources to make. It is a Monster Hunter game, they need to focus on what the fans truly want out of it. Most players will tell you that story is not a priority for a MH game, its the gameplay. Do your best at telling a story within reason, while also understanding that is not why most of your audience is here. Wanting your art to be better at more things is great in theory, but remember art cant be everything for everyone all at once without bloating or falling apart.
I hope they fix Charge Blade too! Also, could you guys maybe provide links in the description for your sources. This video you showed them, but previous video had no sources. Same goes for referencing articles, tweets, patch notes, etc. Please link to the source. That would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys for all the great content!
Lance needs more than just damage buffs. Non-Lance users have no idea why it felt bad in the beta. It's also just slower than all past games which made no sense.
@ tbf I only briefly used LS in the beta as I was busy during a good portion of the beta, the thing is though; that I hardly saw anyone else using the other variations of it
no, not all weapons have the same skill naturally, it wouldnt make sense to have it in the first place, you could just reduce charge times to GS from the base mechanics. But it seems now we can have another way to make weapons different, before they were really pushing it.
Long story short. It doesn't matter what they do. There is always going to be those few assholes who complain about the littlest of things. Like I seriously want to know who was complaining about the hitstops in "World" saying they were "too much".
Is turf war when two monsters happen to meet either in combat or outside of combat? I’m wondering if they are focussing more on people manually triggering it with luring pods which I did a few times during the beta
i think they should just add an option so you can turn being launched by weapons on or off, set it to on by default and anyone who doesnt want to get launched can turn it off

I am happy they put back the hitstop in it!
It sounds like different weapons in the same branch will have different skills, like crit draw on one longsword and focus on another
Omg that helmsplitter around 4:30 😂
Just thought about your old videos when you would do the minecraft quick build challnge and saw you are still making videos which is crazy. Congratulations on 1 mil
Nice to see swag and lance getting a rework!!! Awesome videos guys as always!!!
If the Devs want a good, profound Story & Narrative in MonHun then let em have it I say ! If they manage to pull it off then it's awesome !
Everything else we've seen & heard has been tremendously good, it's shaping Wilds to be the best MonHun experience to date & that's awesome.
I'm on Console & for the 1st time ever, I'm willing to play a game in "Resolution Mode" 30FPS "stable" is all I need to enjoy a game.
I'm still hoping they figure things out for y'all on PC tho so fingers crossed for good optimization !
Anyway, have a good day, YOU, that has read this whopper of a comment.
I am having a high end pc so I didn't have performance issues at all
But this version looks even better. I can't wait for the full game
Also all the changes due to players feedback shows how much they actually respect the players
What a excellent video, subscribed
0:33 so Uth Duna *does* have a long tail; it's just very slim, and invisible (except for the base) when the veils are active.
i guess it's the second breathless monster that i like, along with Nargacuga.
MH Tri had repel quests for lagiacrus
Thunder cage hammer is back! Lets go! Means Cotton is almost guaranteed to get head on a stick
4:28 look, I know the game journalists aren't that good at the game... but how in God's name do you manage to do that 😂😂😂
That’s what I’m saying how bad do you gotta be to miss the long sword?😂😂😂
I really dislike the new hitstop, it is too exaggerated. It braeaks the immersion for me...
@4:40 is that a trex rooster?? Holy shxt. Im truely sold now🤣
I think the hitstop for the Greatsword is still missing the zoom in and out
Loving all the changes, but really sad about not being able to launch players into the air with hammer and other weapons. It was always a fun thing to do with friends and it was a cool way to interact with other player's characters. It will be sorely missed...
Dude the hits look SOOOO weighty on GS, it looks fantastic
The apex from the scarlet forest reminds me of royal ludroth
The way NO ONE believed me when I told kinsect users to keep complaining so that the devs get there feedback. Everyone said it would never get changed and look how wrong they were.
All this footage is making me want to play it more and more dang it lol
Ooh it looks like you dont just have to wait and fall to the ground after the IG finisher which looks fun now 😂
Without the fins Uth Duna looks like King Gator from All Dogs Go To Heavean
omg, uth duna looks so weird without the water veil
I’m glad they’re breaking away from the previous formula story wise, I’ve played World /Iceborne and currently playing through Rise/Sunbreak and though both games are different in a lot of ways, how the story plays out is very similar. It boils down to “oh no, the monsters are acting strange around here. HUNTER go out there and take care of this at once!”.
Though I don’t doubt Wilds story will have that, we’re hunters after all I do like that it’s more story driven and it’s apparent from the trailers we’ve seen and even getting our hands on the beta.
Yeah Divine Slasher is back boys ❤
I did not realize that was what uth duna would look like unpuffed I assumed he was actually a fish lmao
It looks like a spongeless Royal Ludroth without the veil
Im legit so hyped for this game
I want my CB Literal Pizza Cutter back! I miss that thing from MH4.
Magia Charm is also my favorite Hunting Horn.
Dang I'm sad about hammer launches, I'm a hammer player and my friends and I were using it to get more mounts
Pretty satisfied with the open beta Lance and now they trying to improve it? Sheesh can't wait 😍
11:51
I literally beat my first fatalis in iceborn thanks to to bounces
Wait does this mean that we can presume that the first black flame fight is going to be a repel quest?
I wouldnt be suprised...
the first Lagiacrus fight was the same way, so its not unheard of.
Really hope so and that they make it cinematic where it appears and does stuff in the environment like arkveld sounds like he’s going to
@@godly_potatoe69xd19I am assuming the apex hunts will occur around the 3rd or 4th biome, in World, we CAN fight Rathalos and Diablos but we only forced to fight an apex predator when we reach the Coral Highlands, where we fight Legiana
Maybe we backtrack to fight the Windward Plains apex and the Scarlet Forest apex after we reach a certain portion of the story
still no info on my SAED, guess us CHB mains will get shafted :(
I don't see what the problem is. I love that you can go from an AED to an SAED. It makes the super amped feel way cooler.
The charge blade is the best its ever been in wilds. I love not being able to spam SAED and love that you have to do things to get to SA. We are not shafted.
It’s in the game what more info do you need lol
The damage difference was so huge in the beta that looked like this weapon doesn't work as guard point and sword/shield style.
@@JeannieLovesame here. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen a Hunter get sent flying after a SAED. AED is faster and can create a safe opening for SAED.
The comments for the actual VGC video just roast's the player on LS...it's so bad 😅
CB ain't getting changes with the AED, SAED and Savage Axe situation?
The U is silent 😭. KEH-Matrice. The "que" comes from "quemar" which in spanish means to burn
Im so happy that we have more hitstun, that TCS looks SO MEATY
Lance needs A LOT MORE than just a bit of damage. lmao
At 0:26 did anyone get gobul feel
No bro lance don't "just need a damage buff"... The moveset slowdown/shrinkage is fucking mental.
Its shame it sounds like SAED will remain nerfed if you are playing aggressively with it.
I would say with my tinfoil hat on that the reason on why you repelled the Uth Duna is so that the white wraith can kill her. The reason is because in the trailer with the beta announcement, the White wraith was holding a Uth Duna which maybe be the one you repelled.
Gotta love all these gaming news outlets that hire reviewers who have no idea how to play the game they are reviewing.
The buffs from hunting horn should stay on you when you switch to another weapon. >_>
The tune up sounds amazing. The balancing looks amazing. They still haven't fixed the washy-wash of the game, it looks like you are playing within a cloud and everything looks permanently sad.
I hope they fix it too.
What if Elder Dragons are made into sieges of varying levels in Wilds? 😮🤔
Imagine if people said this about monster hunter 4 lmao, shit would be so silly
More story means more awesome monster cinematics. I really enjoyed the beginning section of Wilds where you're being chased by the Balahara
MORE HAMMER COMBO PLEASE
Only reason monsters were running around so much was because they wanted you to see the map in beta more
1:49 hold the phone! That’s a different Focus Strike animation for LS!
It has 3 lol. This one occurs when you hold the analog down. You also have one that goes to the side and the neutral one. They were all in the beta.
@ wait what?! Then why am I only hearing about this now lol
@@alexedwards5152must have just slipped by you haha.
I just realized idt i ever saw a turf war in the beta ive only seen them in the videos, hope they’re less rare than they look
Is turf war when two monsters happen to meet either in combat or outside of combat? I’m wondering if they are focussing more on people manually triggering it with luring pods which I did a few times during the beta
??? I've seen them alot in the Beta.
12:21 WAIT WAIT WAIT ! IS THIS CONGALALA STUCK INTO A VINE GROUND ? JUST LIKE WE COULD DO IN 4U/GU !?
Kecha...
i think they should just add an option so you can turn being launched by weapons on or off, set it to on by default and anyone who doesnt want to get launched can turn it off
Flinch free
@@sekiro_the_one-armed_wolf you right, the option has always been there, so they need to let us launch our friends again!
Hollow u better play with josh n cotton this time
They don't need to stop upswing and launching, they need to stop tripping from ls
