Stacey, this is one of the best DIY videos I’ve seen. I’ve been looking for pretty elastic belts everywhere, couldn’t find anything as pretty as what you’re showing here. I’ll be watching your channel..
So, this made me go look at my belts. For the most part the elastics I used in the video are very stable and don't fray much at all. However, the wide black one is starting to fray. I would do a little zig-zag over the edge if it looksl ike it might want to come apart. You could also fold it in and stitch if it isn't too heavy. Fray Check or Stop Fray are also possibilities. Some elastics can be melted with a lighter but I would test it first! 😧
@@stacyrobbins Thanks for the info. I recently have become obsessed with belts. I examined my elastic belts, they come folded over then sewn with a straight stitch. I want to make my own because I’m very picky with my buckle styles and elastics, sometimes I can’t find what I’m looking for, so I’m gonna try to create my own.
I would ask for wide decorative elastic. It often is found with the lace and trims. There is a link in the video description for the place I bought my supplies. Happy sewing!
Elastic belts are all-day comfortable! Thanks for the great ideas!
Yes! They don't dig into your side and allow for eating! 😊
Love your creative combinations!
Thank you so much!

I just loooooove that project
Thank you!
How do you keep the elastic from fraying? Did you fold it over then sew it? Would love to see a video on this. Thanks for the video.
