Victor isn't being a speed freak here or overly technical, he's expanding the horizon of the instrument in a very musical way - trying to do something different considering he stepped into some big shoes with this particular gig. It's all about groove and Victor's got it throughout this whole video. What doesn't groove is your use of such an ugly word to describe the solo.
