    As a Patriots fan, this guy was the real deal. Best CB I have seen play in my life time, I was too young for Prime. Always followed the other team’s best WR and the numbers don’t lie, they didn’t play well. He also didn’t benefit from a top tier D-Line like some CBs have such as Sherman and Norman, don’t have to cover for long if the line is getting to the QB.
    I loved Randy, but his one handed TD catch came when Revis was suffering from a very injured hamstring, so it should have an asterisk on it. He was one man, but I knew how much he impacted every game against the Pats. I always knew he was game changing and gave the Jets life. First ballot HoF.

    Best defensive football player to touch a field. Try covering a receiver one day.. Its the hardest thing to do in all of sports.. And this man was a shadow. Prime was never able to shadow like Revis.

    That touchdown that he allowed by Randy Moss, that was a mistake by the safety. The game plan was working up to that point

    I think best defender ive seen in his prime. people usually go to donald or watt but what revis did ive never seen anyone else do, to literally be one on one against the other teams best wide receiver and completely shut him down. having that kind of guy just opened the jets playbook so much

    it's fine, Randy Moss made a unnecessary one handed catch after burning Revis. and that catch is STILL called "The Revis Catch" lol

    What's ironic is that he really didn't have an island on the field, he just shut one guy down. Meanwhile, Sherman specialized in having his own zone on the field. If anything it should be Shutdown Revis and Sherman Island... but no one wants to make sense I guess.

    • @Jordan-yk4xn
      @Jordan-yk4xn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sherman played in a totally different system than revis. Zone based scheme and sherman always had safety help. Revis was so dominant, he didn't need safety help

    The hilarious part is about that Tennessee game revis is the one that deflected the ball back to Mariota to start that comeback that was bad way to go out but I still think hes in the top 3 corners of all time

      @@Gnilretsam Maybe a top five. There's the time Moss beat him with an insane one hander for a TD, and then like 2 games where Stevie Johnson made himself a household name for a year or two. That's about all I got.

    Many people say _Revis covered those guys well past their prime._ That's nonsense because when you look at someone like Moss, he was putting up monster numbers still and when he got to Revis Island, those numbers fell of dramatically.
