Dividends are what got me into investing in the stock market. The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. Have over $600K in my portfolio as I bought a lot of dividend stocks before, I'm buying more now, and I will buy more when it drops further.

As a new investor it's always great to hear from a person who has gone through all the difficult times and come ahead of it. It's unnerving to see your portfolio go from green to red but as mentioned if you have invested in quality names just have to keep adding to them and stay the course

Avoid too-good-to-be-true scam schemes. Seek advice from a fiduciary counselor they provide personalized advice to individuals based on their risk appetite, placing them among the best of the best. There are bad ones, but some with good track records can be very good

Like Warren Buffet said, dividends are only good if the business you're investing into can't make good use of that capital. So, if you're trying to invest in businesses with actual growth, looking at dividends is a waste of time. Why are you investing into a company if they're returning capital to you because they think you can make better use if it than they can. It's not much different from bond investing. The way I see it, if you have a $1 million at some point, that'd be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between 50k - 70k in dividend income.

This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. To me, the crucial aspect is that if you invest and have additional income apart from dividends, you can sustain your lifestyle solely through dividends without the need to sell investments. This enables you to pass on those dividends to your children, granting them a significant advantage in life. In 2022, I received dividends amounting to $52,000.

The US-Stock Mrkt had been on it’s longest bull-run in history, so the mass hysteria and panic is relatable considering we’re not accustomed to such troubled mrkts, but there are avenues lurking around if you know where to look. My wife and I are retiring this year with over $7,000,000 in tax deferred investments. up until 3 years ago we were 100% in the S&P. During bear markets we had a perfect plan. _Great video! I've been trading and investing for about 2 years now. As you mentioned, it really is crucial to recalibrate the way we look at certain things in order to remain confident in our trades and investments. It was also pivotal for me when I really realized I was
"crossing my wires" in that I was treating certain stocks that should be day trades like long-term investments, and flipping stocks that I should have been holding as long-term growth investments, lol. Personally, I enjoy both day trading and investing, so I had to learn to identify my specific goals first, then I had to learn to identify which stocks I should only day trade for the time being and which stocks I should hold and build positions with.

I think it is important that all investors at this time focus on stocks of high quality if you will that meet 3 pieces of criteria: good management, well capitalized and strong brand names. For every stock you would get 1-2$. What they aren’t telling you is you have to invest when the stock is at 1-5$ you have to invest 1000$-5000$ just to live off of dividends.

Inflation is gradually becoming a part of our lives, and as a result, any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account loses value each year. Unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way for most people to ever have enough money to retire.
