    I have a lot of electronics on my boat already. I use a Lowrance HDX and have a Garmin down scan.
    I bought one of these and rigged it to my trolling motor. It’s absolutely amazing how accurate it is. Perfect for someone who just needs to identify the bottom and what’s actually there. If you’re a bank fisherman… this is honestly all you need. A tip for beginners… learn to actually read sonar. Everything that shows as “a fish” isn’t actually a fish. It will save you a ton of time thinking you’re on a monster when it’s actually a log or stump.

    So basically, carry a second pole, cast this and let it sit, then use your other pole to cast out to the sonar bobber.

    If it's too shallow it will give a false reading. It's a neat little item to have when you want to find the fish and not waste time fishing unproductive water. It would be real stealthy when fishing from a kayak or Canoe in deep water, you wouldn't have to cast it and spook them. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi, Fish Hawk! It looks like you may have your line attached to the bobber attachment. When you're reeling it is, the iBobber is being pulled up so that the red portion is partially out. This may be why you're getting the "Out of water" message. Try again tied to the centerline attachment point (don't forget the braided line and swivel!) and let us know if you still get that when you shouldn't. Thanks again for your review and business! And remember, all sonar needs at least 4' to operate properly :-) Let us know if you need anything!

      I was thinking of Braided line as well..only I'd use 40+lbs as don't want to see it wander off to LA-La land..only has to get stuck once to encourage a person to take a swim.

    I'm thinking the best way to use this would be on a dedicated rod. Cast it to get a feel for the underwater terrain and at what depths the fish are swimming. Then use a second rod n' reel with the appropriate lure or bait.

    1: First and foremost-A giant thank you for showing this new device. I gotta get me one of these! Takes the guesswork out of finding out where the fish are, and how many there are in any one given spot. If you're like me, & don't own a boat that you can use a Hummingbird fish finder on, this is a true life saver! I'm gonna check Walmart and other places to see where I can find one or two of these. Then, I'll get the app on my phone, and I'll be all set. You can't even imagine how many times I've been fishing, only to get skunked, and come home tired and angry enough to want to punch a hole in something! With this kind of advanced help, those days of getting skunked will hopefully be going bye-bye! Thanks again, my man! Also:To all you stinkin' haters out there that want to give Holmes here a thumbs down, get a life, ya turkeys!!!!!

The viewing on the screen is showing in landscape style like left to right but you are cast it straight ahead ..so I'm not sure how to tell where exact is it show me a hump or structure etc.. • @mrmisterman999
      @mrmisterman999 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually own the deeper and its so much better than this junk. It shows depth, water temp, gps location and you can even map the lake youre at to view later

    • @mrmisterman999
      @mrmisterman999 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Talo S i guess if you enjoy looking at a lego interface, deeper has bathymetric mapping that can map an entire lake/pond/river. Can be used from shore/dock/boat. It also uses WiFi which has a greater distance than bluetooth which is what the ibobber uses. I looked up this ibobber and compared it to my deeper pro+ and sorry but it doesnt even compare.Here's an amazon review that sums it up nicely:
      Yes. I had the Deeper first, but lost the device in a rainstorm. I decided to get the iBobber as a replacement to the Deeper. The Deepers hardware and software is much more detailed than the iBobbers. The iBobbers only has a 90 degree scan, as opposed to the Deepers 90 degree, and 120 degree scans. The Deeper shows 4 different sizes of fish, along with several types of "fish" alarms. Both offer a 15 minute sonar scan replay.
      Please note that both sonar bobbers require re-syncing upon each and every use. As the sonar bobbers only turn on when in the water or charging. The Deeper has quicker syncing time than that of the iBobber. If I had to buy another sonar ball, I might first look at the sonar scanners available in a RC boat package. The RC option seems much easier to get the sonar scans "where" you want them, and less water noise when casting your sonar bobbers out. If I had to get another sonar "bobber" I would recommend the Deeper.
      Does this justify Deepers cost of roughly 2X the iBobber? What the iBobber brings to the table is simple easy to use scanning. The Deeper offers much more than the iBobber in regards to hardware and software

    I used this product and compared it side by side to my Mega Live. I looked at my phone and my fish finder to see how accurate it was with depth structure and fish. I give it a 4 out of 10. Not that accurate when it comes to fish. Depth wasn’t that off and structure.

    • @FishHawk
      @FishHawk  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, the iBobber is half the price of deeper. But I haven't tried the deeper so I couldn't give you an answer on which to get. But, for the price I think the iBobber is a great choice. It's very easy to use and seems to do a decent job.

      I would think initial cast might make a splash as like casting normally, but shouldn't be an issue..they might even stop by to see what is going on?

    • @FishHawk

      yes it's limited. your cell phone will lose connection with the ibobber if it gets too far away.

  • @chrisbajema8002
    @chrisbajema8002 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow that’s cool. Woulda never figured it really worked. How far can it be casted and read Bluetooth? Even better, think it can be used as a tangle free “flasher” for ice fishing or does it not transmit as well deeper? Thanks fish hawk for the time and knowledge you’ve given us 🤙

    • @FishHawk
      @FishHawk  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Their website states that it will stay connected via bluetooth up to 100 feet. I do believe they have a newer version that can be used as a flasher for ice fishing. The ibobber will read depths up to 135 feet. No problem at all! Thanks for watching!
