China's Luxury Car Is A Threat To Rolls-Royce, Mercedes, BMW, and Bentley

  • It comes as no surprise that a Chinese car manufacturer has been producing top-tier luxury vehicles, rivaling the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 5-Series. Many enthusiasts even believe that this company, Hongchi, excels in crafting automobiles comparable to Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
Now, they have introduced a new model poised to compete with the Rolls-Royce Ghost, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley, Audi A6L, Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series and even the latest opulent BMW 7 Series. The vehicle challenging these illustrious counterparts is none other than the Hongchi H9!

They'll need to change the name if they want to be taken seriously in English speaking markets, because:
    1. In English, Hongqi phonetically sounds like 'Honky' which is a derogatory name in some countries.
    2. In Chinese it means 'red-flag'. A red-flag in English however means a risk or something of concern.
Neither of these are something you want associated with your lovely new luxury car.

Bought Washing machine hoses, manufactured in China. That evening walked by the machine and got spritz with a fine mist in the face. Imagine the insurance claim had that let go on the upper floor in a condo while you were away. Rubber was made from recycled tires, total garbage. Have experiences with multiple rubber products from garden gloves, hoses, etc. Similarly, plastic from China is no good. My windows thermometers of which I had three, all disintegrated into shards within three years.Again, recycled plastic. Bread toasters from China have to be unplugge because they will catch on fire while you’re away at work. Chinese electric cars are burning up at a high rate and the fire cannot be doused with chemicals or water. Sometimes they burn entire buildings down if they’re parked closely. Lying, cheating and stealing, buy one, good luck surviving. The airbags are known not to deploy for a starters.

I like it. RR, BMW, Merc overrated- waste. Thank you China for making luxury affordable.

BMW is okay (we had one), but Mercedez gave us a headache, too costly to keep (insurance, gasoline, maintenance and when one of our Mercedez's windows broke due to vandalism, we had to wait 3 months to get the window glass replaced). Mercedez resale value is very low. Our old Toyota Landcruiser (1996) is still in demand, it was about 160 million Rupiahs, now people still want to buy our Landcruiser for 500 million Rupiahs because it was so strong and safe to drive. The new Landcruiser is not that strong. Our old Ford Jeep is also very good and it costs very little to keep both Landcruiser Toyota and Ford Jeep.
