My parents took me here before I was old enough to go to school...there's a photo of me in my miner's hat at the entrance. I don't remember much of it beyond it being dark in there, and I was afraid of the dark. The guy guiding the tour wasn't even born then...wow. I'm glad I got to see it again. Much better this time!
@@RoadLessTraveledWI I just read your bio. I live by the SleepingBear Sandunes in Michigan. I love to explore the upper peninsula. Anytime you want to come over and check out the dunes. A lot of my friends camp in my backyard. You’re welcome to as well. I’ve had several TH-cam channels in my backyard. lol I belong to an over landing group based out of Wisconsin. We do a lot of traveling in the upper peninsula together. And I too like to eat and drink. 😃 lol cheers and safe travels to you guys
Thank you! We may take you up on that offer. We definitely want to make our way out that way. We wanted to focus on Wisconsin this year, but next summer maybe we could focus on the other side of the lake!
This is a great video. They used to have a Silver mine tour in Park City Utah, but it shut down. I never got to go but have seen a video or two. It was a very wet mine and rain gear was required. It's probably flooded these days. I heard that I believe it was the Thatnes Silver mine that in the early days of the Ski resort actually took people up through the mountain on a mine train inside the mine, and you skied back down. That's a foggy memory. I'm getting old.
Your tour guide needs a pay raise. His personality is top notch.
He really is a great guide. Fun and knowledgeable!
Live in Iron Mountain have been there 4 times
The massive cavity is still mind blowing
It really is quite amazing!
Thanks for bring back my childhood days. My parents took us to this mine back in the early 70's and I'm glad to see they still are giving tour's.
Glad you enjoyed it
Cool. I always wanted to stop there.🤠

My great grandfather was a copper miner over by Ironwood. His seven children all moved south as soon as they could.
Yeah, it was hard work. Conditions were not great either.
Thanks for the visit. Interesting tour guide.
Not boring. Good learn.
Guy did a fabulous job!
Yeah. He was knowledgable and funny.
Thank you for sharing this. I have driven by that so many times. I’m definitely going in there next time.
Love to see comments like this. It's a fun tour, and the walk isn't too long!

Loved going here as a kid. Waiting for my kids to be a little older to go.
They will love it for sure!
Great video! My wife and I pass by the place every time we go to camp. We've been on the tour.😁👍
Thank you. Probably the best tour in the area!
My grandfather worked at this mine until it closed in 1945. He was making 16 cents per hour back then.
Crazy to think about!

Thanks! That sounds like it was a cool place to visit!
Been there when I was a kid
Nice. Pretty much like back then?
Excellent!
Nice tour
That disgruntled old man is probably my Dad, he loves his naps 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
LOL! Can't fault him. Naps are great!
Me also in the 70 lived in Crystal falls for a couple years
I know that Ryan guy. Great tour guide
That's cool. He is a great guide. Please tell him thank you for us! We wonder if he saw this video.
@@RoadLessTraveledWI I can try to send him this link
Cool. Thank you
Need to open the mine back up make America great again. And open the mine in white pine.😂🤣👍🇺🇸
I do support mining, but this one probably best as a tourist stop. Probably making more money that way too! 😀
@@RoadLessTraveledWI it will make more money if we make America great again and get rid of some restrictions the EPA has on mines .
@@RoadLessTraveledWI there is still iron in it though! 😌
Know the former owner, was born in iron mountain
It is great that he helped preserve this.
Been there as a young lad interesting place to go see forsure
What does the tour cost?
.17 cents an hour, Highest Paid, Dang
And that was only good at the company store!
that whistle is very annoying sometimes, and i am taking a nap when it goes off sometimes.
Can see how it could be after a while
Where are the ventilation mask???
There is enough air flow through the mine.
Ayyyyo my fault for not seeing the comments guys 😶🌫️🌳🤣
The music junked another video 👎👎👎👎💩💩😬the underground trip is great. Look for the Cornish pump when there in town.
So we have to ask, have you watched the more recent videos? Are we improving the audio levels? Or is it the music we are choosing?
@@RoadLessTraveledWI good videos have no music. Your content is great. No music
Hmm. We'll have to consider that.
