(Yes I know temperature doesn't work that way in cataclysm, i'm trying to be funny.)
It sort of does, doesn't it? Fire produces hot air, which fills spaces and raises temperature.
You can also just feel temperature a short distance away, without the hot air field.
Please have longer series. It is such a frustrating scene to see CDDA series with so little episodes! Another Innawood-length series please!

The Mansion survival was one of the most nail biting short series to date, so glad we get to witness her wade back into the fray once more.

This is the first time I've ever experienced aftershock because I always thought that vanilla cataclysm was more my style, but I can't help but be impressed at the cool items you came across right from the get go
I'm glad to see the undead people tileset back, I was never really a fan of Ultica. It just feels so impersonal since you can't see your characters face.
I'd like to use it in other series but Ultica is still running the most up to date and regularly updated pack. Both are great and I think they can serve well depending on the feel that you want when you're playing
I wish our DM was given a shot, figured he would of had a field day with the Bionics of Aftershock.

Carmen got caught in an Exodii bunker porting in, and was thrown through the maelstrom into the Aftershockverse.
Maybe the corpse was a native who dressed her after she showed up with ravaged clothes.

There were so many good characters to choose from, I'd be happy to see any of them show up. Even the ones that had too short of a series to let us get to know them would be okay with me (even just for cannon fodder, lol)
Unrelated to the wonderful content I'm about to consume-
what did you use for the robot voice?
I've been trying to find one for my D&D campaign, and all I can find is garbage.
I do it with post processing with a chorus/flanger plug in but it's doesn't work live. I believe Voice Mod does so give that a try
I can see some notes of kruggsmash in this one. Loving the style!

So do you have a full list of the mods you're using for this series? I'm pleased to see that Aftershock is finally becoming a proper total conversion rather than just an asset pack!

I'm not sure how good of an idea it was to run Mind Over Matter with Aftershock. Seeing as the latter is a total conversion, there will likely be thematic conflicts, balance problems, and it may even be impossible to progress with MOM, since AS completely removes a lot of vanilla Cataclysm items, and reimagines a decent chunk of the crafting system.
I'm also concerned about the custom settings, since that could easily break the balance. Remember, this isn't Cataclysm anymore, it'd be better to be safe and treat it as a new game rather than messing with it before you even start, so you have a chance of getting the intended experience. Aftershock is already a major deviation from what you're used to, no need to throw extra stuff on top.
Roll that back real quick, speedy what?

this tileset does bring a lot of nostalgia from my best moments in CDDA and all the way back when Rycon started using it on the earlier series, really nice!!!
The new person in control of the tileset and updating it is actually quite nice. The old guy left after throwing another huge fit over pronouns or whatever.

@SireBab No, and I say this as someone who appreciates his work, but he was a terrible racist. The cosmic horror and fear of the unknown in his stories is very obviously based on his own xenophobia and terror he felt towards people different from him.
Orion arm is in reference to our local arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. Got a lot of hours of enjoyment out of your last series in cataclysm, looking forward to hours more with this one!
This looks awesome! I've always been interested in the idea of Astronauts watching the Cataclysm happen from orbit. They're safe, but they realize that they can't stay safe forever. That there's only so many supplies, one way down, plenty of problems, and no more Houston.
You should read World War Z if you haven’t already. They have a really interesting segment about this!

If those two don't need a support group, I'm genuinely unsure sure who DOES. And that's having met almost all your survivors, too. Can they hang in a shared gamefile maybe?
I still want to see Rycon use the multi-character feature now present in the game, to control and switch between individuals in a group of people. Could be a very long-lived save where the death of a single player character isn't the end of it all, and every episode can vary widely.
I thought that's what the short survival series was for in the first place, building up a nice group of survivors to meet up and survive together, but that sadly didn't come to pass, and to this day I'm not sure Rycon is even aware of the feature to come up with ideas involving it.
Ah damn. I wanted Dr Dong to return so bad.

My take on Carmen the teenage assassin and the mansion she was in was fairly dark. There was abuse and grooming and subjugation in her unexplored backstory. She was horribly wronged.
The people in the mansion where she woke up in were very often clad in subserviant fetish type costumes: maid, butler, servant. It was spookily charged with a certain type of fetish imagery.
I remember Carmen breaking into a room with like 16 computers and my mind flashed to the dude in Romania charged with sexual violence and enforced OnlyFans subservience with his coterie of young women. My head space was that this mansion was the HQ of a very dark and nasty video content factory outputting vile content to sick customers on the dark web.
And that this was not a contract hit, but personal payback and revenge for the wrong done to her and her fellow prisoners. She wanted to kill her subjugator and abuser, but then the zombie apocalypse happened.
My take: She was raised and trained by a monastic order of assassins--radical splinter from the Catholic Church? The target in her survival series was connected to something her order was violently opposed to and she had to go undercover at the mansion and commit a ton of venial sins to maintain her cover. Ironically the constant battle after the apocalypse began was a little closer to her comfort zone than LARPing as a party girl.

We might have the same version, if you're using the launcher in the description head to the mod section of the launcher and grab the mod pack that's there. Hope that resolves that for you

A chance to see the Aftershock total conversion along with the Mind Over Matter mod in action is always welcome. Haven't seen them before.
I'm not sure it's actually a good idea to run them both. Unless Mind Over Matter has specific compatibility for Aftershock, it's likely there will be thematic conflicts, and perhaps even straight-up balance breaking things, or MOM may be impossible to progress in, since AS is a total conversion that does away with many vanilla things and concepts.

I'm so super excited to see this series, I've never messed around with aftershock personally. However, I have been rather enjoying Mind Over Matter, the psi ability mod, it uses stamina instead of mana without hand restrictions, but are still classified as spells, so remember to bind the spell casting key at some point. I love the telekinesis abilities most of all, so very cool, been very excited to see this mod come to life since hearing about it years ago. The percentage chance of activating the abilities seems a little strange in testing, it seems like weariness and pain effect the chances a lot. I'm not 100% sure how you acquire these powers without starting with them, so I'm sure it will be a learning experience for us all. :D

... how about a short survival series featuring US legislators? Though different from most previous characters I'd absolutely love to see how they fare in the Cataclysm.
I don't think that's a good Idea, it would alienate some part of the viewer base just seeing them, especially if they do well or die yknow?
And most of them are old, and... Would not do well.
