Oh, maybe we will see what the new Friendlybudget goggles look like. I can't wait to see them! It would be awesome if they had an analog bay, or even better, like the HDZero monitors: HDZero + analog 🤩
Ryan literally said that the new « thing » had analog built into it (0:49), and of course later that he had been talking about goggles (2:56). Smart move since they indeed had built that into the monitor already 👌 I assume the affordable goggles are likely gonna turn on very quickly like the monitor does. 😏
I converted my Air65 to the HDZ AIO and it only added ~2g. I had the same conclusion that it was way more fling able and it slides around corners really nicely and the image is just so much better. The only downsides are catching the quad off a trick needs much earlier throttle and I get almost a min less flight time. But I've now built a HDZ 1.6in with WeBleed screamers and that thing flies so nicely,
I fly analog for the latency reduction, flying HD feels so odd to me due to perceived input delay due to visual signal latency. Analog with an HD action cam if you need HD footage imo, fantastic video though!
@serenestateofbeing1062 nice. I have a flywoo 1s nano baby V2 I had considered putting it on also. LOL I already have one now in the Mob6 race HD i bought and I love that little thing. 🤘
The Air 75 frame is a good starting point, but I've broken these frames already with the AIO5 and Lux/Eco camera builds, the new HQPROPS bi blades are great though and with some decent motors they rip. The only thing I found was it was harder to fly inside, the 65mm was easier to manage with high kv motors. This is in a house though, 75mm is always a little tricky for me inside my house. Thanks Ryan for the exciting teasers, can't wait. Newbeedrone please make a light 75mm frame like your 65mm versions!
Jessie Perkins on the tinywhoop channel did an interview with Carl where they "officially" announced some budget goggles but there is no way I thought they would support 90hz and analog!
I just see one flaw with your added ballast to simulate HDZ: it doesn't simulate the larger amp draw that comes with powering HDZ which doesn't come from the extra weight. That additional amp draw pushes the onboard battery closer towards it maximum C-rated discharge which is felt as less power and response from the motors in flight. I assume that your Air75 had BetaFlight's C03 camera? I've personally found the C03 to be quite close in image quality to the ECO camera on my indoor 65mm builds, but your HDZ footage is using the LUX camera. I liked hearing your perspective on the Air75 though, thanks!
Hey Ryan what brand are the antennas that you have on the HD goggles? You sent Albert Kim goggles and the antennas that were on them I liked but don't know the brand. Thank you
I really hope Hdzero makes a high amp 2s aio! It's the only thing keeping me from swapping to hdzero. I just can't bring myself to give up my 2s micros.
Analong being "low cost, low barrier to entry"... I don't really agree. The goggles are still fairly expensive. Even cheap analog ones - the only cheap ones with ok performance (i.e. not an FOV so small it's like squinting at a postage stamp) are box goggles, and they are quite heavy hanging off the front of your head.
@@RyanQuelletRyan you are an ambassador for Hdzero. Be more professional. I don’t mean that in a negative way towards you. But you need to be above comments like this. You are better than that.
It's unfortunate that the AIO5 is so easily damaged. In just one month, I've broken three AIO5 units and two ECO cameras. Meanwhile, my Whoop Lite Bundle typically lasts about six months, and my analog drone even longer. I had high hopes for the AIO5 and still hope for new iterations of the AIO concept.
@RyanQuellet It starts rebooting after every crash. I’ve already replaced the wires and connectors (BT2.0). The first board lasted about 20 batteries, but I bought it second-hand, so that's understandable. The second one survived around 50 packs-bad luck, but fine. However, the third one started rebooting after just 12 packs.
It's not news that HDZero is ideal for 75mm. Even under 17g I can't imagine anyone getting a 65 to run over 2.5 minutes. Batteries discharging in 2.5 minutes will last a few dozen cycles at best. If those two major issues arent non starters, go ahead.
@@ChrisHarmon1 yeah it struggles, if I cruise around a bit more I can get 3 minutes, but it isn't high demand at that point. 2.5 is long enough for me inside, I wish I could get that outside, 1.5-2 is pushing hard outside on the 65mm.
I disagree with your statement about battery discharging. I've had whoop batteries that I've flown for 1-2 years and they're still pretty good. I have a similar experience with my 1 year old 5" batteries - they've still got pretty much the same capacity as my new ones, and I fly them fairly hard and to to pretty low voltages. My one rule (with all of my batteries) is to never store them at full charge for extended periods. I make sure to fly all of the batteries I charged, and to only charge them back up to storage (3.8v). Then I charge them to full on the day or the day before I want to fly them. A friend of mine got a whoop about 6 months after I did, left the batteries fully charged most of the time, and his batteries went bad before my oldest ones did (and he wasn't pushing them hard at all).
@@RyanQuelletI tried HDZero on the 65 Pro frame, even tried cutting down some 35mm quad blade to biblades with no benefit. I think any gains are cancelled out by higher amps on 0702s. The one area I did not try is 0802s with 35mm prop.
@@VousieI am talking about HD 65mm quads discharging cells in 2-2.5 minutes when flown aggressively for the whole flight. This quick discharge is what's bad for the cell. This is common throughout the 65mm race scene, you'll see "fresh pack" referenced like it's a napkin.
Walksnail doesn't feel like analog or hdzero. It feels delayed and mushy. So, we give up a lot of feel and performance - not something that fits with the strategy of Air series.
@@RyanQuellet For racing sure, but for freestyle you adapt to the latency very quickly and get a much nicer picture. Not trying to attack you, but you come across very much as HDZero > everything else. I think all the systems have their strengths and uses
I don't see people truly ripping walksnail like they do with analog. I mostly see some fast cruising. My point is that the video system significantly changes the way we fly and choice of gaps to hit
@@RyanQuellet Yup. I've absolutely seen that too. The people who fly DJI or Walksnail don't tend to do the fast reaction-time proximity flying that analog/HDZ pilots do.
03:48 oops. is that a box goggles?
spotted it also :D
your mob6 quality looks fantastic

I love my 75mm hdzero aio5 with the lux cam. 0802 25000kv 1.5 shaft motors. It’s a great setup! Can’t wait to see the new goggles!
I already beat betafpv to it. I built a 75mm aio5 whoop using the air75 frame
Just ordered a couple other aio5's one for a 75mm whoop and the other I'm thinking fractal build. 😁

Right, 75mm is much harder indoors for me
An HDZero variant would cost about $200. And the extra power draw reduces flight times substantially with 1s quads, so it’s really a trade off.
A budget goggle that supports analog AND HDZero... Yes please
The goggles you are wearing at 3:48 for HD Zero look like the same goggles you are wearing at 5:49 for analog...
looks like box googles
@@LeshaRodin Yeah... Looks like this might be the lower-end HDZero goggles he hinted at at about 2:50.

Looking at the analog and HDZ footage here, I do think the HDZ video is double the quality.
In the goggle with a larger FOV Analog is crap.
