Hi! I'm a doctor in Switzerland, but I was already a specialist before I came here.

Hello Lisa! Was it hard to come to Switzerland as a specialist? Did you have to take any exams or did they just recognize your specialist title? Thank you for sharing!

@@radutodiras8196 Actually, it wasn't a Problem. My medical Degree is from the USA which would *not* have been recognized by Switzerland directly BUT I already had an Approbation from Hessen in Germany, so I could go the route of the "indirekte Anerkennung" of my diploma and I already had the Goethe Zertifikat C1 for German to fulfill the language requirement. Getting all the documents together for MedReg was a Little bit of a hassle, but my employer reimbursed me for the 800 CHF fee, like you mentioned in the Video. What's very weird is that I was already working here for 2 years before I was made Aware that all doctors have to be in MedReg. I kept asking "don't I Need a medical License here or something…?" lol.

    • @radutodiras8196

We didn't pick. We went wherever we found the job. The highest paying cantons are in central Switzerland. I would say cantons Luzern, Solothurn, Aargau, Zug, Zürich are very good options. In this area there are also more hospitals spread out so you can live for example in Zürich and work in Olten in Kanton Solothurn or in Aarau Kanton Aargau. Considering that you have to change hospitals at least once, if you live in this area, you'll have an easier time to find another job without moving to another apartment.

Hello, thank you for the video, it really helped. I am a medical student in EU and I want to do my residency in Switzerland. Is working as a "Assistenzart" in a Switzerland hospital mandatory in order to get into residency? For how long and how much do they make? Or being an "Assistenzart" is a part of residency? Also, what is the application for a residency program process? Thank you!

Hello, thank you for your video. Concerning the exam, is it only a pass/fail? Or is it a point grade exam in which Ill be competing with other candidates on the same residency?

@@xilee4507 so you are saying that their is no bachelors in medicine? I wish to study at ETH Zurich or University of Zurich. I had a look at their undergraduate programs and Bachelors in Human Medicine was one of them, lasting 3 years. Can I opt for this program to become a doctor?
